I have been practicing hand-landing the Q400 by hand using FSInstantApproach (which allows setting up a starting position relative to the airport). I find it very difficult without the autopilot. It is like trying to fly a slippery bar of soap along the slope of a bathtub - the plane requires constant correction, keeps changing orientation and it is very difficult to keep the wings level. If I glance at the flight display for a second, when my eyes come back to the windscreen, the plane has likely tilted by 30 degrees. Hello, Obviously I must be missing something because since I had to reinstall FS about a month ago, I simply cannot make it run in the flawless way it did in the last years. When running on 2d panel, the sim stutters or lags whenever I left-click on the panel image or the outside view. It hangs for like a second and then resumes. Every time I click on the panel. I also get some flashes whenever I open/close 2d windows or select side views. Hi, I have a black screen upon starting FSX where the spinning airplane should be. When I select another plane, (screen still black) and click run, everything loads, you can here sounds of the plane running and cockpit sounds but still a black screen. I've read threads on this subject and so far I've: 1) updated my graphics drivers 2) deleted the FSX config. and let FSX build a new one. Those didn't work. Before I try doing a FSX repair, which I don't want to do ( I just did an complete FSX reinstall recently), does anyone have any suggestions of things I might try? Thanks so much. Brian-

I realize that I may be overlooking something in one of my addon's configuration options, but I'm trying to figure out a strange occurrence that keeps happening with my FSX setup. I've got my FSX.cfg tweaked and machine setup for optimum performance, and just recently got my first OOM. Then, it kept happening- even without AI traffic. I scratched my head, and took a quick look in my FSX.cfg, only to see that my TML setting had been changed to 4096. I'm currently running zero mesh products... Thinking of picking this up next but have heard all the horror stories of AP's in crater and on plateaus... Is Fsglobal 2010 bug free with UTX and GEX? Also if I wind up getting Vector down the road does it fix some/all of the elevation issues in Fsglobal 2010? How does Fsglobal 2010 play with other freeware/payware add-ons that also address mesh like AP's and products like My Cities X?

I tested this on vanilla FSX (fresh install) with SP1, SP2, and a week ago with Acceleration FSX setup. So I can't blame Acceleration, tons of addons, or my hardware (I suppose). When I start a flight, or my test situation with default C172, DPC latency is acceptable, but still way higher than normal (everything below 500): After a 20-30 minute flight, DPC tends to go higher, and on approach it looks like this: The sound start popping and crackling because of high DPC latency, and some stutters appears, which is completely unnaceptable. Hi . I'm working on a new way to create a realistic night texture based on the real-world data. Until now, now I've got pretty good results. I want to share my results with you, and I want to ask you to give your opinion on my works. If it is good, then I may be able to make the same texture for whole America or Europe in a few months. I have decided to do a FSX reinstall. FSX is installed on a SSD separate from my C:/ main drive. I also have a separate drive (G:/) for scenery. I have lots of Mega Scenery Earth 2.0 states installed on this (G:/) drive. Is there a way to leave them on that drive and re-connect to the new FSX install?

So since about a month ago I've been having this issue with FSX. My ground textures load very slow. They don't load until I'm right over the area. Random trees keep appearing up. The ground about 5 miles in front of me is completely barren. I have no clue what to do. It's not my add ons because I've tried it all. Have done a re install and it's still the same. I have no clue what to do. It drops my Frames about 20 fps! Anyone know about this? Thanks. I have just come back to FSX after a 2 year break and have of course forgotten much of what I knew. I have been installing Playsim Gen X Scotland scenery. However, I can't find them in the scenery library and they don't show in FSX. Also I cannot find any trace of them on the computer ( not sure where to look or folders to look for) Thanks.

Greetings, I'm hoping someone can help me understand what causes a momentary black screen of about 3 seconds when changing views or using a popup RXP G530 gauge. This occurs with a 3-monitor setup; Nvidia 680GTX; and a Window 7/64 setup. Primary aircraft are Real Air V2 Duke and Turbine Duke; both fairly complex aircraft. I'm thinking it has something to do with resources and wonder if an adjustment might be made with graphics, etc. Les Parson

Hi Everyone I've been having some problems with my Fsx. i got a new computer and installed Fsx everything was fine i got over 20 fps till i deleted Fsx to re install when i re installed Fsx all i got was a serious amount of lag like 1 fps and my loading mouse icon is black instead of white i tried deleting everything from Fsx but still no help if anyone knows what could be the problem feel free to help.

Any addons to go with my PMDG 737-800NGX? I already have Fs2Crew and FSPassengers. Any suggestions?

A fresh FSX installation and on loading for the first time I get this compass rose like artifact on the display - can't get rid of it. Never seen this before. Suggestions anyone on what I can do about it. Thanks Bruceb

I have had this recent issue with FSX where I will be flying for usually around 15mins-1hour where I will then start to experience a lot of texture glitching and texture loss it will usually start with ground scenery it will just simply go missing usually followed by the exterior of my aircraft then from there it gets worse and eventually I have complete texture loss and I am left with nothing but a screen which is half white and half black sometimes hitting ALT+ENTER repeatedly to minimise and maximise the screen will help restore some textures and features back but eventually it becomes useless and the texture loss takes over. I recently have gotten back into Flight simming after a 3 year hiatus and I started it off by buying the Maddog MD80 for FSX(I assume it is up to date since I've only bought it last week). Just downloaded this the other day as I am always on the look out for a step up from the BluePrint KDAL and Glenn did a nice job on this one. In fact I like it better than the BluePrint version that I uninstall. However, before I go emailing Glenn on this, I just wanted to see if anyone here who has installed this has noticed that there seems to be a lot of z-buffering issues with a lot of the buildings. You know, the type of z-buffer issue where sides of buildings keep fighting with each other to display the correct texture. I can't get a grip on the keyboard parameters in FSUIPC. I have taken one of my Axis and set it up to raise gear and lower it for the PMDG 737 NGX, easy enough. Then I read in the manual that you can assign "Key Presses" to an axis. So I setup the axis with 3 events. The top portion of the stroke to raise the gear going "up", the bottom portion to lower the gear going down the center portion to turn the gear off, going down. The gear off is done by key presses - CTRL + G. This is where I don't get it. The key press is set in "Parameters" under "Control sent went range entered" in "This side to send button controls" in "Axis Assignment" tab. In the "Advanced" manual there …

Hello. I have reinstalled fax from scratch last week and have a coast line issue around cyvr. There is land instead of water. I've checked the usual culprits of terrain.cfg and the Vancouver+ v3 entries and the ultimate Terrain entries in the terrain.cfg. they are fine. I managed to get the issue down to a conflict of scenery as listed below. I'm quite sure it's a scenery library order issue, and a conflict with orbs pnw and ultimate Terrain. I need a flight planning software badly, I have heard talk about pfpx and the ad's on here, Is it really the best?

I've always used the on-board FSX flight planner to plan my real-world flights that I obtain from http://flightaware.com/, and overall, it does an adequate job. But in some parts of the US/Canada, airspace fixes (intersections) are missing, Does anyone know a good source which can add in the missing intersections in one easy step to the FSX flight planner (not one at at time).
