Can someone explain the difference between VLE and VLO speeds? I know what the dictionary/wikipedia definitions are (VLE = max landing gear extended speed; VLO = max landing gear operating speed), and I've seen these speeds listed in the specs for certain aircraft. But I guess I'm confused about what they means in terms of when I should/shouldn't fly with the landing gear, and when to retract/extend them takeoffs and landings. They kind of seem like one and the same, no? Also, I'm mostly a GA flyer (and a newbie at that!), so is it safe to say that fixed-gear aircraft like the C172 don't actually have VLE and VLO speeds at all? Thanks.

I am in the process of completely reinstalling FSX. I have PMDG 737 and getting weird behaviors, so decided to reinstall. PMDG recommends not installing in default program directory. I installed in program directory originally so thought this might be the cause of my problem behavior. My original install went without a hitch. I uninstalled using instructions from PMDG. On reinstall, I made 2 changes. I installed in C:\FSX and I ran install as administrator. Installed and authenticated FSX without a problem. The not so good news: The upgrade for the existing Aerosoft Airbus X (Extended) A320/321 won't come for free (like in "change of Aerosoft's plan"). Just a reminder ... If you have a pea soup fog around your aircraft when flying with P3D ... Then you most likely have the Volumetric Fog enabled in P3D and do NOT have the option enabled within the OpusFSX Weather Preferences dialog. If you hear of any problems of this nature then please either direct the person to ask here on our SimForums or refer them to our FAQs or possibly to the Live Weather manual; tell them there is a very simple solution. The reason for the 'pea soup' fog is that P3D is not able to process the normal visibility layering whenever you set its Volumetric Fog option. Does anyone know where I can download historical worldwide metars to be saved and used in FSMetar? I would really like each download to cover the whole world instead of one city. Many thanks. John

Is there any scenery that covers Georgia, or at least Atlanta, or KATL, or the southeast US? Looking for something like ORBX. My home airport is KABY, in the southwest part of the state. It would be great to see that whole area upgraded. Is there anything?

KEYW (Key West) currently has two GPS approaches, one for RWY 9 and one for RWY 27. But they're not available in the stock FSX GPS-500, probably because when FSX was released in 2006, they did not exist. I've noticed the same situation for many other airports. Is there any way to manually add these approaches to the GPS-500? Thanks.

Hello, I was just wondering Whether anyone could recommend the best Airbuses (Prefably A321, A330, A340,A350) Available? Either Payware or Freeware. i have a very odd issue wondering if anyone knows what this could be as i am running out of ideas and drives me crazy and haven't been able to find anything that might help, anyways on to problem: * when i fly helos lets say in Alaska or anywhere in the mountain regions, helos will fly with full control up to certain altitude at which point it feels like controls freeze and i can only control throttle and then pitch yaw will freeze or lock in certain position for a few seconds, and then as soon as i lower down below lets say 8000 i have full control, i tried this with default helo's, Cera Bell 222, and this appears only related to helo's, any other aircraft i can go …

I fly FSX in windowed mode, 1280 x 1024, and after I first installedFSX each time I hit "Fly" I would have to re-position drag the windowto fill my screen. It seemed to default to 800x600. At some point I did something ( scratches head... ) and FSX began to "remember" that I use 1280x1024 and when I hit "Fly" the window wouldfill my screen.Now, after having hadto do several "repair" cycles due to myriad FSX crashes and glitches, I'm back to having to drag that #^&*&%#@window and re-size it every time. Granted, I haven't much else todo while FSX plods along and loads for 2-3 minutes after "Fly" but it IS annoying that it doesn't size that window correctly.I've crea…

I am thinking of buying the Q400 but I have a few questions which I hope somebody could answer. I have read that it had a bug that can disconnect from the ILS glideslope and LOC on landing. Has this been fixed yet? I have also read that, due to the fact the aircraft runs outside of FSX and is basically being slewed, GSX and AES don't play too well. Have these both been sorted? Is the inbuilt pushback the same as the NGX where you set pushback distance and hope to get the taxiway and not the grass? I have ASN so does the weather radar read the actual weather being produces or does it estimate the weather. I know a lot of aircraft addons don't have a weather…

There may be a problem affecting all versions of OpusFSX posted since Beta Version 3.46.3 on 29th April 2014, affecting Release Versions 3.47 and 3.48. This Live Camera problem can block access to the aircraft.cfg files preventing them being updated with the OpusFSX Camera Definitions. It mostly affects new OpusFSX users, or new Live Camera users to be more precise. The version 4.00 OpusFSI Betas are not affected. If you have any of these versions please download, uninstall, and upgrade to the latest OpusFSX Release Version 3.49.0. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Regards Stephen

Hi, I apologise if this has been asked before but I've searched this forum and Google and I can't find an answer to my problem. I'm using Opus (3.47.0) just for the weather and I can't seem to get rid of the hazy reduced surface visibility. I've ticked the ignore box and changed the > altitude to zero but it makes no difference, I've also ticked disable low overcast effect, disable fog effect and disable mist effect and nothing has helped. http://www.seadogs-reunited.com/Weather%20Opus.jpg I like the ground to look clear on a sunny day as I want to be able see the expensive payware scenery that I've bought. When viewing FSX in virtual cockpit, with all aircraft, including payware and use the space bar and mouse to look around the cockpit, as soon as i release the space bar the view returns to the default view (looking out the window, this means i am unable to click any buttons within virtual cockpit - what could be causing this issue, its only been doing it for a few weeks now? or so i have noticed

So I currently have REX 2.0 installed with Active Sky Next. When I load KPSP I have this ugly grass texture in all 4 fsx seasons... I've the "737 Pilot in Command" aircraft from Feelthere and it flys OK in my old Windows XP PC. Now I have a Windows 8.1 PC and I find that I cannot get the 2D Panel Views by clicking on the panel views in virtual view, e.g. CDU/FMS is Shift+4 . Does anyone still use this aircraft in W8.1 and do they get this problem? Ray
