I realize that many of the smaller airports likely are this dark at night, but my recent and only experience with flying was that even after Dulles Int shut down it was almost blindingly bright outside. Every FSX airport all over the world is this giant dark spot, even in Vector, and I was wondering if anyone had a solution for the larger airports. I know they're not that dark, I've been to at least one of them.

Hey guys, Just reinstalled FSX and this is what it gives me... Any ideas for a quick fix?

I've just installed Steves DX10 fixer, as well as Shade and I've previously been using a FSWC preset, "Erics favourite" and I've just noticed I have black lines, or a sort of grid system, on my water tiles. I use REX4 for my textures. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? (I've lightened the pic so you can see it more clearly) I've tried resetting FSWC and Shade to default but I still get this tiling effect.

I do a lot of flying around KSMO, KLGB, etc and I'm looking to enhance my experience. What are some of the best sceneries and airports addons for this area? As a sidenote does anyone have any REX texture recommendations to get that beautiful California sky?

Since I havent flown for years I was hoping for some advice on realistic settings for turbulance and vibration in the 737. The default settings seems awfull rough for a jet up in the flight levels. Some times it feels more like the truck I drive on my job. Can you really feel that much vibration and almost perpetual chop at FL 370? Any advice from any experianced flyer who uses OPUS DHM to help me find that thin line of realism would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I recently bought the Coolsky DC-9 and it is great. But I am so use to computerized flight systems and because of this I have no idea when to start my descent in this thing (Kind of embarrassing). So as simple as it might be, I need a bit of help.

Simply create a new file, name it WaterConstants.Xml and copy the contents located on the CODE section of this post inside it. When you are done, copy the newly created WaterConstants.Xml into your FSX root directory.This replacement file will remove the 'grids' some people experienced when using the Shader 3 mod, it will also make the water much better by reducing The Bump scale and adjusting some other paramenters.IMPORTANT: After replacing your WaterConstants.Xml file you HAVE to clean the shader cache in FSX so it is rebuilt with the new data found in WaterConstants.Xml. Hi. When I try to install FSX the installshield wizard starts, says Preparing to install... etc, then just disappears. Nothing else happens. I think the installer is running in the background but it doesn't open, IDriver.exe (InstallDriver Module), msiexec.exe (Windows installer) and ISBEW64.exe (InstallShield 64-bit Setup Engine) are running and shows in task manager/processes. When I stop IDriver.exe a message from the Installshield comes up and says "1628: Failed to complete installation." I also had problems with uninstalling fsx because the uninstaller wouldn't start. I deleted the folders manually (FSX installation folder, appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx, appdata/lo…

Hello all Not sure where I should post this but I thought a good place to start-I'll be happy to be pointed in the right direction to the appropriate forum! Does anyone know if Cockpit-for-You is still in business? I've bought several gauges from them and I have a very small issue, but after trying for some time, I am not getting any response to me e-mails. Just wondering if anybody had any news? Hello Simmers! I'm sorry to be posting this here, but I couldn't access the REX4 forum even after registration. Basically, my issue is that (REX4 is installed in the C:/ Drive) when the UI screen loads up, there are no options at the bottom, and as such I am stuck on the configuration screen with no way to bypass. As such it is impossible for me to install textures of any sort, let alone do anything else. I've tried the repair function to no avail, and REX4 is being run as an administrator. I've also tried, by the way, to change the screen resolution and to move the window around, also to no avail. Thanks for any and all help - greatly appreciated! -Derek

Hello guys , sorry to bother with this issue but i boutgh a citation x from Eaglesoft and I am waiting 2 weeks for they awnser me and send me the forum activation , so i decided to write here and see if i can solve this problem . My problem is that i add all the flight plan , waypoints etc and all is ok and looks perfect , but when i do the take off and i conect the NAV , the plane only go to the first point and them the plane dont get the other waypoints in the plan , i was looking in youtube , everywehere but i cant find a solution , if someone had the same problem please let me know, thanks very much guys! Okay guys, so with abit of tweaking, i have seem to when i lock fsx at 30 in the sim, it maintains a good 29.9 ish fps. I have one question though. I have followed a tweaking guide that says you should set this : UsePools=0 RejectThreshold=102400 PoolSize=200000000 For locked fps is it better to to have what i have above or this : UsePools=0 / Poolsize=0 Any thoughts?

Dear All, What i have in mind is to have two good quality airports within 200-300 nm from each other with a scenic route between them .I will confine my sim world between these two airports with this kind of distance fit for most aircraft types,either from or to. I have Flytampa Dubai which is amazing in every sense since it has it's own city ! but unfortunately there are no airports nearby on par in terms of quality or performance. I would happily take suggestion of new airport couples that fits the criteria,scenic route is a big plus!

Recently i realized that whenever i had flaps down either for take off or landing, no matter how much extended, it would constantly role to the right but when retracted, was fine. Whats going on?

The veritable avalanche of new airport releases continues! This time it is Belfast City (EGAC) from Eiresim, the development of which has been kept fairly quiet. Can you change the default 737 altimeter from usually 29.92 to in Europe 1013? I forget exactly what those different settings are called. I think in Europe, it's qnh. If it's possible how would I do it?

How do I load weather from FS Real Weather Lite into FSX?

If this thread is under the wrong section, please move it to the correct one. I've been having a problem with water streams/lakes/rivers. They do not appear to line up correctly, in fact I don't know if any of the ground imaging lines up as if in the real world. I'm using ORBX Global. Hopefully someone can help me, below I've included some example images. Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Having just purchased the FS2Crew Button Version for the PMDG J4100 today, installed it but could not see the Configurator, so uninstalled it. I used IOBits uninstaller and in clearing out the Registry am not sure if I deleted something I should not have.So, from a salutation where I had FSX loading earlier before that FS2Crew install, now I get a crash with the ui.dll module being the culprit. Any ideas how to fix this without a complete FSX re-install?

As I sit here preparing for a multiplayer flight later today, it occurred to me that I have not purchased any addons for FSX in months, and I haven't 'tweaked' the sim in a few years. Everything looks great, runs smooth as silk, doesn't crash, and I have more planes that I will ever fly. If the 'next great thing' ever comes along I will of course have to take a look at it but it would have to be something so spectacular that it would change FSX, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. Salute to all the addon developers that have made my sim what it is today, THANKS doesn't seem enough!

So something really strange happened to my fsx overnight, totally surprised to see the ground displaying like this (kind of fuzzy or something) since this morning, does anyone know what's gone wrong?
