Hello! I just did my first landing with the NGX while using the HUD. I managed to smash my virtual head through the HUD while breaking after landing. Here is a video of what happened (starts at 2min 6s): I'm not 100% sure, but might this happening because of the landing effect on the Opus camera? Is there anyway to modify, how much the camera moves forward during breaking? Thank you for the help! (just for reference, I'm using version 3.01.2)

I'm using a second monitor for 2d panel but I need to display gauges only so can someone tell me how to display the gauge side only of my 2D panel? I will use an android tablet to display radio/nav so I don't need these to be displayed on my monitor, also these gauges will better fill my monitor without the radio/nav/AP stack.

I'm looking at the Reality XP GPS and Simflyer GPS for FSX. My question regarding these products is: Are they kept up-to-date with the most current GPS approaches installed? The default FSX GPS-500 hasn't been updated since 2006 so it's missing many approaches now in use. Thanks.

I am using OpusFX v3.49.1 beta and have just fitted a new Track IR. I have an issue with my opus views when using it. When I move my head and although the view moves as it should, there is a stutter. I have tried ticking and un-ticking the Track IR high priority box but it seems to make no difference. This only happens when I use Opus FX Can you advise what I should do to improve the Track IR / Opus performance? Thanks

Would like to have a good, fairly fast, single engine, non-turbocharged, fixed gear payware GA plane to play around on short flights. Thinking of the standard, modern Skylane. I do not like the G1000 versions. Would like KNS (?) type gear, with a possible upgrade to the newer versions I am now seeing in the forum. Looked at Carenado, but most are fairly old models with older radio and nav gear. Any suggestions ? Dave Hinson

Magvar.dat file update? In Flight One's ATR72-500 (FS9 and FSX) Navdata folder (where SIDs, STARs and flight plans are located) is a magvar.dat file (128kb dated 3/4/2003). Anybody know if there is an updated magvar.dat for the ATR72-500? I updated my FS9, FSX and P3D scenery magdec.bgl's to 2010 from here : http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html I did not see any "dat" files on the site.

Hi guys, I'm new, and i would like to know if the setting on my Inspector are good or not to gain some FPS on FSX especially when i use PMDG T7. Hello there fellow AVSimers, I have been recently configuring FSX on my machine for the first time and everything seems to be going fine, except for this addon ACCU Feel V 2 that seems not be working. When i install V1, the module is loaded with no problems the thing is that when i try to install V2 all of the sudden FSX does not recognise this module nor does it show up in the module Tab in game. I have had a look at FSX.cfg on trusted modules and both A2A_Feel.dll & AccuFeelMenu_dll variables store the value of 1. I would be very gratefull if anyone could help me with this problem because this is an indispensable addon for FSX. Kindly regards, Roxmate

I know that there are several add-on programs for FSX that generate weather, and while there is much debate about how good they are, I have found them all to have a relative impact on FSX performance, at least for me that is. In any case, I noticed last week while setting up a flight, including weather conditions, that ORBX had created some freebie weather themes, which are all well and fine (with the exception of the tremendous winds) and I thought "how could I create a weather theme myself?" Somehow, ORBX was able to create some fantastic skies and I am assuming it all came from the stock cloud textures, so I now ask if anyone out there knows how to create a weathe…

Is there any way to have smooth transitions between weather updates in WX plus? The pdf manual says it "allows for better visibility and wind smoothing features" but I find this claim to be false. Whenever the new weather loads it just moves clouds instantly and the wind instantly changes as well. Is there anyway to get smooth transitions besides going into standard mode or did I set something up wrong?

Hi not sure if this should go in “hardware” or the FSX forum, so apologies if in wrong one. When it rains in FSX I get a “warped” effect on the rain. I am using nvidia surround x 3 monitors and I am using DX9. The rain fills the middle monitor , but depending on zoom level used it may only cover a third to a half of the outside monitors so can look a bit strange. Just wondered if anyone has a solution for this? Cheers Steve

Gentlement, I have been told (by alexnadein from avsim.su) that the Majestic Q400 is fully compatible with Prepar3D v2. You just need to uncheck "Mipmap VC panels" in "view and panel settings" Folks here tried this and it works. Thanks !

Hi everyone, I'm a new member and I'm interested in aviation and simming like the rest of you. I don't know if this is in the right forum, but this is my question. I want to do an FSX movie based on JetBlue 292, where the landing gear twisted and the A320 made an emergency landing at LAX. However, I can't figure out for the life of me how to twist the landing gear so I can reproduce it accurately. What are your suggestions? Note: If I get a different aircraft it MUST be freeware, I can't scrape up the money at present.

Hello! The other day I was preparing for a flight from CYUL-EGLL. I went to adjust my cockpit view by using the default 'NUM2'; but with no response? Then I checked the other keys such as the changing view 'S' and 'A' but again no response. I made sure that the Num Lock was turned on and that the key binds are all correct. The day before It was working perfectly fine and all my keys are working as normal and next it isn't? I've tried a clean install of Ezdok, updated it again and the same issue - The only thing that makes it work is when I start FSX, Ezdok starts with it; so when im in the flight deck, I close Ezdok then re-open it manually in its folde…

I recently purchased a new rig which runs FSX like a dream. After setting up the obligatory environmentals/scenery etc and the superb Real Air Duke, I finally installed SB4 and took the Beech 60 on a short haul from KMGM - KATL only to see an error message popup from SB4 mid way talking about assertion error C++ etc. I selected ignore and it worked till shut down. Tried it numerous times and always get the same error message along with FSX freeze-up after selecting ignore more than once. Researching the issue in VATSIM, I found that apparently you can't run SB4 within FSX in full screen, that you either have to start it separately and run in separate minimized bo…

After many years of hesitation I now moved from FS9 to FSX. One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to avoid the "swivel" when changing the angle of view in the outside view. FOr instance I am looking at my plane from the side and then move the point of view behind the plane. Instead of just fixing the point of view behind the plane the view first "overshoots" to the other side and then centers back on the angle of view that I want to have. Quite annoying, it is as if the outside camera was drunk or on a floating carpet. In FS9 one could tick a box to "fix" outside views. How can I do that in FSX? Hi ! I'm buying pfpx, and was wondering if i need to have fsx and pfpx on the same computer? Or can i just have it on my laptop, make a route, save it and use a memory stick to transfer it into the main computer? I know i can just use same pc, but i would like to use my laptop to save space, an decrease the working load... and its more simple then sitting in front of the main computer all the time planing a route.. excuse my english.. I'll start by stating that I did a search on the forum and only found mention to this in one of my old ( 2012 ) posts where I referred that having installed FSX Gold from GFWL was a PITA, since any re-install would require downloading the whole 11GB again, and installing :-/ I am aware of the folders that GFWL client creates, and where I can browse a bunch of CAB files, before the installation ends and all of those files are erased. My question is, has anyone successfully backed up and installed from the backup, these CAB files? My fps is great with Orbx England with UK2000 airports and I am fully immersed in my A2A Cherokee, amazing ride. I've been downloading some of the Orbx airfields and I'm finding, despite my decent system, that I'm being hit by OOMs after just 30 minute flights - a first for me. So I've ditched the Orbx strips fpr now and I'm flying great in England again. I bought P3D Professional about two weeks ago. Tried desperately to get it to work right. It screamed on my system at unbelievable FPS rates. Volumetric clouds were great. No tweaking. BUT... No PMDG, ASN P3D Beta kept crashing, and most of my FSX add ons were quirky. Couldn't stand going back to iFly 737 after NGX. My FDS CDU and CP Flight MCP and EFIS wouldn't work properly. Even my IRIS A-10A and F-15E wouldn't work right. Gave up. Knew it wouldn't be easy but this made me want to put a .40 caliber round through my system. Asked for my $200 back. I load up FSX and then start FS Weather Lite. I hit Start FS Weather Lite and then hit Send Weather to FSX, after it loads it looks like it's there. but the altimeter seems to be the same every time. It defaults to 29.91 when the altimeter is really like let's say 29.83. I'm wondering if I'm doing this wrong or if there's some problem with some settings. Thanks.
