Hi Guys How do you go about determining the active runway either for departure or arrival, especially at an airport with several runways. For example, I'm sat at the gate at Boston, and I've tuned the ATIS. I've been told "landing and departing runway 15L and 15R". So presumably in the real world, this would be one for departures and one for arrivals, in normal operations? How do I then determine which one to use (without waiting for the AI traffic to start taxiing and seeing which they use) ? Same question on arrival, when I fly airliners I normally tune the ATIS at about 150 miles away from my destination, then when I get in range it will tell me which r…

I've not done anything differently from yesterday to today, and I've tried multiple starts, under multiple situations and nothing. Anyone ever experience a random FSX just not deciding to open before?

Whenever I try to check for updates to there products the update program (checker) keeps returning host site down unable to connect. Does everyone get this? There site I think only mentions updates from 2012. Is this correct? Since they do not have a forum where does everyone go for panel cfg's to help when you run into problems and how will people find out about updates? Lot of questions in the above. Hello, Do any of you guys know why this happens? This only started happening after i did a reinstall of FSX. Is there a fix or something in my settings i should change?

Just a heads up that Long Beach Airport scenery version 4 will be available on Saturday in the library. This version is FSX native and will not (yet) work in FS9. It does however work in P3Dv2. This version has all the latest additions to the airport including the new terminal and parking garages. Enjoy another destination in socal... Now on to the next project.... Shez

I notice that flying through clouds in FSX and FS9 doesn't have the same "speed" as in real life. In real life, you can see the clouds coming in extremely fast as they get closer to the cockpit, and even faster as you fly through them. It's something that's etched in my brain since a long time ago when I visited the cockpit of a 767 during flight. It was amazing and unforgettable. So what is it in flight sims that can't replicate this?

I took my Virtavia C-17 on two flights, both around six hundred miles each and on final I lost control. On the first flight I lost control of the throttle reverser and brakes. Everything else worked. The second flight I lost the controls , but I had speed brakes and flaps. Most of the flights it's on AP, but when it's disengaged on final that's when I realize there's a real problem. Hey guys, I'm having a problem with FSUIPC that i can't really understand. I am new to using FSUIPC for my yoke and pedals. The problem is, that in the ''Axis Assignment'' i selected brakes on my rudder pedals, but when i press the brakes, they stay on, and i have to set the parking brake, and release it again to get rid of the brakes. I have no idea what i've done wrong, any ideas? I didn't notice this problem before i landed in Oslo on Vatsim, and i was stuck on the runway All help is very appreciated! thanks!

Before I spend my hard earned money on the Q400, I want to make sure it works well enough, so my apologies for asking more questions. The Q400 is a bit unique in it's workings so it is more of a gamble then other addons. I have been doing some research and a couple of things seem to keep cropping up. One is the Q400 bouncing up and down. The second is the Q400 temporally freezing in flight but the sound still running. I really want to buy this product as I need a short regional aircraft to fly around the UK. Hi, I'm pretty new for flying out of the U.S. I usually have used flightaware to find a route and get charts for the flight. However, I would like to try flying in Europe and actually in other countries too, but I have no idea where to find charts and get a route to fly. So, how do you other simmers go about this? I purchased the avelina a couple of weeks ago - and I'm really enjoying it. I like experimental aircraft and this is a very cool concept! I haven't tried it out yet on VATSIM - might be kind of interesting to hear their response... I am having an issue with the start up procedure. When I press the power button in the middle of the console, none of the screens turn on to show that the sytems are booting - unless I go to full power on the throttle and once the prop starts moving the screens come alive. Not sure what I'm doing wrong - can you help? Thanks!

Even though I got the aircraft some time ago I just started using it. My question is, is this compatible with the FSX default ATC. There doesn't seem to be any mention of it at all from what I can see.Usually the xfill feature allows you to bring the FSX flight planner flight over to the aircraft. If you can how do you do it?

The problem I'm having is with the Skysim hawk. In the config atc_model=HAWK. This is the right code. Thing is, when I start a flight in the hawk, FSinn shows my plane as the last plane flown. If I start in another aircraft then switch to the hawk I see no change (Flight Plan and current used plane still show the last plane I was in.) if I change to any other plane the change is registered and the code changes accordingly. I've checked all the planes In my hanger and this problem only occurs with the Skysim hawk and the LS9 glider. The freeware hawk works fine. Not sure if it's related, but I did an FSrecorder file of the hawk and upon playing it back it sh…

I guess I must've done something wrong when applying and reapplying textures... Since a few days, the texture/effect that comes from the wingtips in FSX has the "black box" effect, often accuring when a default texture is missing. Does anybody know which effect that is? And is anybody willing to send it to me? I know, backups.... The one time I forget to make one.

Hi Folks, Has anybody successfully purchased and downloaded Belfast City airport from the Eiresim website. I paid via Paypal on Saturday (31st) and promptly received an email with the serial and download link. The link gives a security certificate warning which, after a pause I accepted anyway, (legitimate company?) but link gives HTTP not found.
