For some, it is the dream of a lifetime. for others, it is something that every plane lover has to experience at least one time. And for the rest, words can't express the feelings they have as they walk among the hundreds of planes that descend to their "home".The annual Lock Haven Fly-In, which is known as "Sentimental Journey" began on Wednesday June 19, at the William T. Piper Memorial Airport in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and will last through June 22. I live only 25 miles from the airport and every year at this time I spend as much time as I can there watching the vintage Piper aircraft coming home. Pilots from all over the United States make the annual journey her…

Anybody have current contact info for Ray? I am trying to reach him regarding permission for an update of one of his FS98 panels, and the e-mail address I have from the FS98 panel is probably quite old. I have not heard back, and it's been the space of a week, so I am wondering if he doesn't check that e-mail anymore. If anybody has any info regarding being able to contact him, I would very much appreciate it. THX!

I uploaded the 29.42 drivers to replace the 21.83's I've used since installing my GEF/2 back in Feb. While just as stable as the 21.83's, I noticed slower 2D (windows desktop) updates. Thought nothing of it, until I fired up FS2000 for the first time in several weeks, and noticed a 3-4 fps drop in performance (Don't know about FS2002--I always keep it locked at 25fps).Since I had nothing better to do, I pulled the 29.42 drivers and went back to the 21.83's. Immediate improvement in 2D performance, and the 3-4 fps were back in FS2000. These driver updates are odd creatures, aren't they? Kind of hit and miss as to where the performance benefits will be, and on which ca…

Hi, Those clouds will be in fs sky weather with the correct weather condition, they covers all high level clouds of the world, also there also near 60 more than this preview, overcast, mackarel etc. The result is pretty great with the combination of the new fsw cumulus etc (not in this preview only high level clouds preview)The cumulus,Fog, Stratus, Cb and T- storm with an Anvil on TOP still in progress, but the major works was for those high level clouds.Wait A little for the download if it is slow.Fs 2002 HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS PREVIEW:http://fsw.simflight.com/1.htmlhttp://fsw.simflight.com/2.htmlhttp://fsw.simflight.com/3.htmlhttp://fsw.simflight.com/4.htmlThanksChris Wil…

If after upgrading drivers you notice reduced or poor Direct3D performance run DXDiag, disable D3D, exit and reboot. Then go back and enable D3D. This solved a problem for me where only half of the D3D tests under DXdiag would run properly.

Flying around here is not fun. The sad thing is that prior to 9/11 you could plop friends and family with their cameras into a Cessna and use the VFR routes(Flyways) on the back of the TAC for a nice sightseeing trip. You would use the Mormon Temple, Bridges, the Beltway, the National Cathedral, etc for reference. I suppose I will never be able to do that again.http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/06/19/white.hou...tion/index.html

Was doing some research on the web on volumetric clouds and came across this..very interesting. There is a download available for a demo and the source code. I have no idea how this works but maybe one of the scenery guru's would be able to figure this out..it would be awesome for flight simulation..it would make it very real.http://www.cs.unc.edu/~harrism/SkyWorks/

i noticed on my c421 that when i bank lt or rt that i don't have enough of rudder to keep the ball centered (oh, i should mention that im using ch yoke pro usb as well) so i looked at some past archives here and someone mentioned to change the rudder effectiveness and i did and that did the trick, now is this the correct way to fix this problem? or am i going to get some unrealistic flight behaviors because i changed that.?? ( i changed it from 1 to 5 (a tad hot) then back to 4)i have been through the fsuipc thing many times, didn't seem to help at allif you look at my fsuipc.cfg file it shows:ruder=-16384,-512,512,16384what else should i do??any suggestion would be great…

Hello all, I'd like to know what sounds do you use for your 747s?There are a few nice ones out there: Ryuji Ozawa's 747-sound (GE-CF6)PSS 747-sound (RB.211 and PW/GE)But none of them really sounds like a TRUE 747. I live about 8 to 10km(that's about 6 to 7 miles) away from EHAM. I visit the airport nowand then and the sound of 4 GE-CF6 / JT-9D engines really blows you away.It also shakes the windows when they fly over....I wan't to hear the distinctive whistle in GE-CF6 sounds and the incredible rumble in JT-9D sounds! Is anybody out there making some new sounds?Greetings,Mike

I have seen numerous posts over time where it is suggested that an air file is not up to scratch and people suggest substituting it with one of the MS default air files.Could someone please explain in simple terms how I go about this and what needs to be amended to make the transition work.TIA

Have this issue with an aircraft where when taxiing, the ASI doesn't show the first 10kts of speed. Once I get up to 11kts, the ASI shows 1kt.The GPS notes the speed properly.Had this with a few aircraft back on fs2k, and now have it with one of the 747's I fly in fs02.Is there somewhere in the .air file I can fix this?(It's not wind, the panel, etc, it is the aircraft.)Thx.

If so, you are going to love our new upload system. Now, you have FULL CONTROL over your file desciption, its distrubtion rights, modifications or previous editions, your image uploads, and much more! Now you can present your file the way YOU want it to be presented. No need to rely on the interpretations of library managers or third parties. You get an email confirmation that your upload was successful, a CRC that let's you check file size to confirm your file was successfully sent, and an ID of that file that you can store away for future reference (for instance, if there is a problem with the file, you need to reference it in future uploads, and the like). The best news…
