Hi All,The apron fixes will be on a short hold until I return from San Antonio on Aug 8th. We're redoing our kitchen, and currently, have no counter, no water, no stove, no sink and no dishwasher. I've had enough of pioneering so I'm going somewhere where they use something other than paper plates and paper cups! I have about 40 airports to do as well as putting concrete at KSEA, PANC, KLAX, plus others. So I'm leaving hot, broiling Sacramento for hot boiling San Antonio. CUL.

I recently downloaded the Fokker 50 Panel Project v3.0by Espen Oijordsbakken. For some reason, the Fokker plane that comes with this package, does not respond to joystick inputs. Every other plane that I own (including PSS Airbus, 747, and many many third party freeware) works just fine.Any suggestions would be appreciated.Jim

I've seen some screenshots of the default scenery in some places where there are jetways on the default scenery! Is this only in pro edition or do I have to max my sliders or something? Thanks!

Hi guys,I finally got my new PC yesterday!P4 2.26, 533 FSB, 512mb DDR, GF 4 Ti 4200, 80gb 7200 HDD, Creative Live 5.1, Win XP Pro.Everything maxed and checked (and I mean everything including all the "special" effects). Running 1600 X 1200 X 16 with no AA (can't get 32 bit yet?). Getting 30 fps (locked at 30!) at Meigs in the 172. Put some weather and AI in and it hovers around 28! Went to KLAX and still getting 28!Smooth as silk. No more stuttering. XP is awesome. The quality of the graphics is simply stunning.Andy (YSCB)

Lately when I have started FS2002 I get the error message which I have pasted below. This is unsettling. I am not able to log on to MSN zone for multi-player. I have to cancel out and then restart. I can not figure out which panel is causing the problem. I have downloaded some planes, but cannot find the correct one. I've searched several libraries including the one here at AVSIM but can't find a full Caribbean terrain mesh for fs2002. The attached screenshot shows how poor the default terrain is for the island of St.Kitts (one of my favorites).On a similar note, is there an easy way to convert terrain like Bill Freeborn's "caribba.zip" that was created for fs2000 so it can be used in fs2002?

I'm using Matthias Rush's 5-overlay Chicago O'Hare (ORD) AFCAD file for Wilco's Airport 2000 and I've followed instructions as required:1) Add ORD1,2,3,4 to the airports.txt.2) Use AI Traffic Mover to move all American Airlines flights to ORD1, United Airlines flights to ORD2, Northwest and other domestic carriers to ORD3 and leave the rest (international) flights as KORD.3) Re-compile traffic.bgl fileHowever, I still have non-international airlines parking at the International Terminal (which remained KORD as specified), Delta, Northwest and America West flights all parking at both UA and AA terminals.What am I doing wrong?

If you press the square bracket key"[" , a second window opens up and pressing the "s" key now cycles the small window through the usual view choices. Framerates now remain pretty smooth with a second window open (I recall a huge hit with earlier versions). So, you can remain in cockpit and simultaneously see your plane from an external view. The trouble is,when I try to look left or right using the keyboard or hat switch, it is the small view that responds, not the major cockpit view. Today at work I recieved a 3rd PC, I normally use 2 PC's at work (hardware support engineer) anyway I was astonished to find it to be a 533 mHz front side bus with 2.53 CPU, typically were not lavished with really nices boxes at work, anyway turns out this is now the standard for any replacement PC's......so at home I'm thinking I'll probably replace my old P III 800 ( with 768 of ram and XP Pro)with something like this, only add a full 1 GB of DDR and the Ti 600.....will this finally end my anguish of only 6-8 fps....and for how long ?I usually only fly the PIC 767 with max sliders, and many,many scencery upgrades, both freeware and payware...

I think I found somthing that may solve some of the problems people are getting with 3d party Addons not showing up with the Anaglyph 3D glasses.What I did was reformatted my HD, and have not reinstalled direct X 8.1, and only have 8.0a version as yet.What I did find I use FSW clouds, with direct X 8.1 these clouds where not displayed in 3D, and did not see any red/Blue separation, now I do with Direct X 8.0a. It's faint of course, but there now.So wondering if Direct X 8.1 is causing 3D party addons to not be displayed in 3D? As Ido now suspect this maybe the case, but cannot say for sure.All I do know is when I had Direct X 8.1 installed I seen no red/blue separation u…

using ANY nviada driver causes fs2000-fs2002-phone modem to crash-this is drivers from 23.11 to 30.30. only by reinstalling elsa 920 using thier 12.41 drivers are all systems restored to proper order.i have never had this prob before using the 23.11 drivers anyone know what is wrong and how to correct it?regards and thanks

When flying online what do I use? This weekend all 3 of my flights were near diasters b/c of inaccurate weather.I'm currently using FS Meteo weather, but I recently noticed that in the preferences that there is an option for "to use vatsim wx" check box. Do I use this in order to get the same weather the controllers are giving me? If I use the weather feature of ServInfo sometimes it shows weather that is 60+ hours old. Also, some controllers will advise you to call ATIS for current weather but just b/c I do that doesn't mean that FS2K2 is going to know what it is b/c I don't know where it is getting its weather info from.On one flight the controller gave me alitimete…

I noticed that Best Buy has lowered the price of the PNY Ti 4400 from $299 to $249. In addition, there is a $50 rebate running until the end of the month. $199 doesn't sound too bad.Looks like this may be a good time to buy a video upgrade for those of us who have gotten behind in the video technology because we are tight. ;-)Wilson

What probably should be added to AVSIm's Obit on the front page with regard to John Cunningham is that he was one of the RAF's most successful night fighter pilot during WWII. He flew Beaufighters and Mosquitos and was known as "Cats-Eye", I believe, because he was so sucessful. After the war, as noted, he became the Chief Test Pilot for DeHavilland's and was involved in a number of their projects including the Comets. Does anyone know why I get the message "The panel/gauge file for this aircraft is either missing... etc." and the panel for the Baron is not available for editing with FSEDIT in FS2002.I have just loaded the default program and not touched any settings for the planes etc.I can edit the other planes.Thanks

This is one of those posts that would no doubt benefit from a screenshot but I'm not having any luck doing that at the moment. In any case, I was flying using FSMeteo and online weather between Meigs and OshKosh this morning when all of a sudden I noticed some small snowflakes. I took a look at the ground and it was pretty much covered with snow north of Chicago. What??? I looked at the METAR and sure enough KPWK (pawaulkee?) was reporting -SN (light snow) but no temp. I checked weather.com and found the area is actually under a heat advisory today. Guess someone made a typo!David

Hello. I recently purchased FS2k2 Pro. The help files are pretty good for telling you what to do, but not why. For instance, what does the auto-feather on the King Air do? I know to turn it on during climbs and decents, but not why. Exactly what happens when the aircraft is "feathered"? What does the inertial separator on the Cessna Caravan do? And what do the different settings on the auto-brake do? Is each higher setting just an increase in the amount of braking? How do you activate the RTO braking on that setting? I know that's a lot of questions, but if you can answer any of them, you'd really help a girl out. Thanks.
