Is there a way to make FS2K crashes more real? I would rather fy a crippled aircraft to landing than have the simulation reset if someone clips a wing.Douglas Harrington(Virtual) New England Charter Airways

I want to post this separately, as the other thread is getting long and it might get lost.Danny raised a good point -- we need a "photograph" of our fighter escort of the baton and (quite apart from the feat of getting the escort) I am curious about the mechanics. Since we couldn't do a MP on my machine :<( we couldn't test, but my theory is that someone (one of the escort planes or the baton holder) could just switch to the spot plane view and press Print Screen. Is that not a good theory? Or does something happen in MP mode that makes that impossible?

Thought I'd relate something funny in my efforts to test out the F16.I was able to get off the ground and fly okay enough, but could never figure out how to slow the @%@##@ down. So here I am coming back into the airport at a billion miles per hour and I set it down to a feather touch landing, cut the engines, hit the brakes and...Kept going and going and going, not unlike the Energizer Bunny. I must have gone for a couple of miles (literally) steering past trees and bushes at a high rate of speed and sllllooooowwlly coming to a stop in the middle of nowhere. Really quite funny if I wasn't so scared at the time (I take my simming seriously and try not to have *any* kin…

Due to a hard drive crash, the last several weeks I have found myself reinstalling Win 98SE almost daily due to unexaplainable lockups.Despite nearly daily rebuilds I haven't been able to get it stable, what's the best order of installation from OS, mobo patches to video and nic drivers, to DirectX to FS2k2?

Here is the problem.Switching to fullscreen mode makes the FS2K2 menubar not accessable, exept i use FSNavigator and keep the FSN window alive. If i hide the window by F9, FS2K2 i cannot access either the menubar and popup menus. Here is my setup:Athlon XP2200512 MB DDRGF4 MXWinXP (default DirectX which comes with XP, looks like 8.0a)no detonator driversFS2K2Any idea ??

Just a heads-up: the FSD T-38A Service Release installs only to the original folder name - it won't let you install to a temp folder - and will overwrite your aircraft.cfg file. So if you've added lots of repaints, beware. Back up first and copy your entries across afterwards.Wonderful plane - thanks so much, FSD - but how I hate those "no choice" self-installers!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

I can not seem to install the Airbus in FS2002. I followed the directions to add it into your main FS2002 Aircraft Directory. I can not find it in my list to select it!

Hi,I created a flight plan using the FS2002 flight planner from EGCC to LFPG. I checked the box for 'IFR flight' and selected 'Fly Now'. When I went to speak to air traffic there was not an option in the dialogue box for clearance delivery or 'Request IFR clearance'.Am I missing something?Mark

Hi Mike ,just a thought for future projects...as I erased all my GAflight plans to and fro from Heathrow (EGLL). I thought it would still be nice and accurate to see some small private/corporate jets fly in,eg Dassault Falcon 2000 (my favorite!) or F-50,Cessna Citation etc etc....do you fancy modelling one?regards

Hi, i have to little "problems":1. I use real weather downloads while flying (downloaded with "RealWeather" by Bearsoft). It seems to me, that no european airport has visibility information in the download. The visibility is 60 nm everytime and everywhere in Europe. In the USA, the visibility is very very very often limited, to 50 miles, or to 8 miles, my last landing was at about 1 mile visibility, which makes flying really nice.2. A friend of mine got a new computer: XP home, Athlon 2100+, Geforce4 4200 (by ASUS). FS2002 is running good. If using the antialiasing in fullscreen mode, no menues are shown anymore (not even the popupmenues when clicking the right mouse butto…

OK, time to jump on the soap box. Needless to say I get a ton of e-mail concerning my aircraft. Some of them ask for features that I have not designed into my aircraft. Most are done in a polite and reasonable tone, which I welcome. Others are not. Unfortunately, I've been getting a rash of the latter type lately. Some people prefer aircraft with all the bells and whistles. If this is what you want in an aircraft, that's great. To each his own. And there are numerous sources for such aircraft. But these things just aren't that important to me and based on the bulk of the e-mail I get, I'm far from the only one that feels that way. I'm not out to create the ulti…

I downloaded Austli/Egholm's 1975 Piper Cherokee 180 LN-ROG, both the v1.0 and the v1.1 update. When I unzipped everything, the unzipped file expanded to a directory containing instructions, some jpg's, and 3 additional zipped files. One of those files is zero-length, but the instructions say to unzip it & place one of the gauges into your fs2002/Gauges directory. See attached image. Anyone have this file or is it OK to ignore it? Thanks,

When posting to this thread, please take care to re-enter the Subject line rather than keeping the previous one. In particular, it's helpful if Location Posts have "Location Post" in the subject line, and it's also helpful when these are direct replies to this first posting in the thread!! 24. Remember when you had to create ALL the directories by hand and move ALL the files into the correct directories? I remember at one time being slightly irritated with this after a couple of years but it pales in comparison with the installs out there today that foul my computer with "Program Groups" "Uninstall Routines" "Help Files" and an endless array of files scattered over my hard drive because the folks didn't know what they were doing when they created the install in the first place. How much longer does it take to go clean out the garbage associated with these? A LOT longer than it did to install things the old way. Please leave my registry alone. Please make it har…
