Greetings,After reading a few post about the benifits of the Windows 2000 OS I decided to take the plunge. After the upgrade (from Win 98), everything seemed to run fine except for one, very annoying problem, the dreaded stutter in FS2002. This one is different than FS2000. The frame rates stay constant (locked at 18) but every few seconds the display seems to "jump forward" several frames, very annoying especially when landing. I have monitored the frame rates and there is no drop that I can see.I have tried everything that I can think of including:Windows 2000 service pack 2Video drivers 28.32, 29.42, 30.30, and omegaDirectX 8.1bSetting the swap file to a constant value…

Has anyone figured out how to open the cargo doors on the PA A320? I would've posted this in their forum, but it takes 5 minutes just to load a thread in there.I tried SHIFT-E-2, but that doesn't work either. Anyone have any ideas???

I've heard rumors of improved flight models for the default FS2002 C172 SP, particularly one created by Ron Freimuth. Can anyone explain to me how the improved model differs from the default? Also, is this model still available for public use? If so, could someone either direct me to where it may be downloaded or send it to me at [mailto:[email protected]]?Regards,Mark Davis

hi this is ke621 living in korealet me first tell u about my computers specs.PT-4 1.7GhzAsus P4T mobo512RDRAMGeforce 3 Ti-200Samsung 40GB 5400 RPMWindows XP PROand i would like to know why with this spec i get low frame rates?i dont think my spec is bad.some people who uses less spec than me gets like 15 frame rate in simflyers KLAX scenery..but i get round about 6and i tested now that using piper archer from dreamfleet from KLAS by looking from spot view looking at the Lasvegas city i get round about 7 ..isnt it to small frame rate for this spec?so i would like to know how to get good frame ratesplease tell methanx

I have now moved to XP.Xp comes with a 3dfx driver (recently updated by Microsoft windows update).This is the only driver ( I have tried many others from 3dfx underground) which doesn't give me blue screen when at full CPU (AMD1700Mhz)setting.The other drivers will work only if I run at 1100Mhz (Go figure that!)However, I can't set fsaa and LOD etc like I could using 3dfx tools and win 98. How can I get 3dfx tools working with this driver?Have you any ideas at all?Is there any mod or tweak I can do?Thanks for any help at all.

Hi fellow pilots!I'm strongly contemplating purchasing the PSS Airbus A320 Professional package, but I'm wondering how well it simulates the Airbus aircraft systems. I'm a big fan of the Airbus and am keen to know more about PSS Airbus before purchasing it, in case I'm dissapointed.Also, how's the visual model? Are the manuals comprehensive?Thanks! James

Hi, I was wondering with the release of the A320 from wilco and the system failures, if their can be additional features with the ATC? Short of flying online because I have pay as you go so it would be too expensive. Can their be a couple of features like a diversion or to declare an emergency?Thanks Ric

Hi!I just upgraded to a Gainward GF4 Ti-4200 64(and AXP 2000+ along with a SiS745 chipset mobo).Framerates are "out the roof" even though I haven't tweaked anything yet. :) There's a problem though: stutters. In dense areas, where FPS still stays high (25-30), I get these annoying stutters, like every 2 seconds the display pauses for a tiny moment and "jumps".What could be causing this ? Any help greatly appreciated...Specs: Gainward GF4 Ti-4200 64, ECS K7S6A mobo (SiS745), AXP 2000+ processor, 256MB Spectec PC2100 (266) DDR. Using the v28.32 Detonators.I'm running Win XP Pro, so could it be that the 256MB isn't enough, even though I have nothing running in the background…

First of all they did a very very great job with PA, however this excellent plane and see is a beauty, but after a few test runs with the tree liveries see is a FPS killer, difference between PA and PSS almost FPS 8 :(Hence have almost the blurriness back :(Still is PSS3XX for me the best there is... :-)Anyone else have this experience with the PA320 and a specific not to mention great panel...?awfEHAM

I have been trying to get a decent streaming video of the daily activities at Oshkosh thru airsideTV.com and all is not well. At first my browser IE 6.0 kept crashing during the video. Looks like they fixed that problem. Now the streaming video image is so bad it is not worth the trouble. In between all the blotchy video I was able to see a 747-200 flyby. You are very lucky if you can see the daily programming.Airbus

Hello. I've asked this question, before, but no one answers me or it gets into a debate as to which airports use centerline lights and which don't.My question is: Why is it that there are no taxiway centerline lights (the green ones) in FS2002, except for about 5 taxiways at Seattle-Tacoma Int'l? Is there any way to add the centerline lights to other airports, as they exist at atleast [part of] one airport in Flight Sim 2002.Thanks!

Hi All: OK. Be honest anyone here actually have a midair collision (that was not intentional)with an AI aircraft? If not, how close was your closest call? Mine was flying into Charlotte NC a ways back. I was on an IFR flight plan in VFR conditions (luckly!) I was given a vector to intercept the LOC. by MS's wonderful ATC :-hah. Fortunately I was listening the the other radio calls and I heard another plane cleared to land stright in. I looked out the co-pilot side window and there it was. It was huge! And had JETS (I was in the C-172)! To this day I don't know what kind of A/C it was (I was too busy diving)! But that was my close call!Aynone else?Mark McLeroy

Just got new computer with Geforce 4 Ti 4400 with Twinview. Aside from the card itself, is has a really neat feature, once you get two monitors hooked up. (FYI - One must purchase a DVI to VGA adapter to use a standard VGA monitor as the second monitor.)The card comes with a program called "nView Desktop Manager". It has many features, but one is really nice, especially for flight simmers. One can set up unlimited (I think) individual profiles, and each profile can store 32 different desktops. These desktops are effective across both monitors.What does all this mean to flight simmer's.As an example to explain....One can define a desktop called "Boeing 737 - 400". Then on…

I would like everyone's opinion on the "other" instrument training software out there, like ASA's IP, Elite, Jepp, etc.Not that MSFS2002 is bad at all, I am just looking for something in addition that is great at teaching all of the aspects of instrument approaches, more so that FS2002 does.Any and all opinions would be welcomed.

I am think I might be losing my mind? I was browsing some sim related websites the other day, while at work, and saw (or at least I think I saw) mention of a aircraft for FS2002 that had realistic night lighting in the cockpit. The gauges were actually backlit instead of the redish colored MS version of lighting. I think it was a 737 or 767 but I am not sure. I cannot find it! Anyone have a clue or know about this?Thanks!

Perhaps someone can assist me.Can I change the wx for a REGION using global or local wx features? I looked in the documentaion and did not see a very clear description of how to use the global/local wx features.The global seems to keep the wx the same everywhre from departure, along the entire route and into my destination... no matter how far away. I cant get local wx feature to work at all except to establish the departure airport weather. How do I make my wx change from my departure point as I fly along my route? For example, Go from VFR to broken to OVC to hard IFR as I fly my route.One last question... In my wx menu, when safter selecting 'local weather' I get a map …

I was just checking out FSLogbook over at LAGO and I was wondering how obsessed with FS are we?I only have 195 hours in My FS2002 logbook, and it started on Jan. 1, 2002. I guess thats still over 25 hrs a month. I am in FS2002 HELL right now with my Graphics!!!FS will not Anti-Alise on my GF2 MX400, and also the texture shake an shimmer like there is a earthquake!!!I have already tried 3 Different Drivers!A)28.32 B)29.42 C)23.11On my GTU Settings in the DirectX Tab, I told GTU to force FSAA, to force Anti-Alise, and I put the max setting of AA at 4x!In FS i have AA selected and checked!!I have also reformated my HD and reinstalled FS Numerous times(11x) to fix this problem!Can you tell me whats going on and what do you reccomend I do??Please Respond, I need your help! FS isnt enjoyable when the textures are acting this way and it is driving me insane!!
