Just saw the list of airports in Wilco's Airport 2002 Vol 1. I have to say I am tired of shareware doing the same airports. There are enough versions of ORD, ATL, DFW, and LAX already out there between Simflyers, FS02 default, and Wilco's old versions. Props to Simflyers for doing MCO, EWR, and PHL. Shame on Wilco for redoing airports that already have good senery. I would rather see 15-20 airports with good scenery than 5 or 6 airports with great scenery. Do you all agree. There are plenty of other big and busy airports that there is no good scenery for. DTW, IAH, and STL are three big ones that come to mind. What airports would you all like to see scenery desig…

Turn off A/C reflections! Yielded about a 50 pct improvement in fps on my slower P3/800... Hats off to the folks at Simubuild.... Great job, and special kudos for the fantastic virtual passenger cabin. I set some moderate chop, put on the A/P, and sat in the pax seats watching the ailerons working against the chop. I'd say this A/C nails the pax experience best.... And I love the Air Jamaica livery!-John

To anyone from Simbuild, you guys should get with Tom and see about getting your own forum. With all these releases coming out, people are gonna have questions/problems and the like and your own forum here would help big time.

I'm attempting to solve the flight hosting problems with my router and anyone here who wants to help is more than welcome to try connecting with me at 64.173.198.225 for the next hour or so (noon-1pm, PST).I'm at SFO (San Francisco International, SF California). With FSMeteo it's a rather cloudy day, which should make for some interesting low level flying around the bay.

Recently had a glance at this yesterday on a system with the 2k2 pro Baron..... Somewhat curious... I had a few minutes to try the Baron myself, and I found when using Ctrl/Enter to move back through the virtual cabin, the cabin just "ended" just past the trailing edge of the wing.... Has anyone else noticed this? Don't see too many folks talking about the default Baron, but it sure looks nice... Had just a few moments to fly it...seemed a bit slow, but that could be easily tweaked... Meanwhile, back to my DL of the A340-600!-John

I've been using this great and mostly reliable program for a while now, and have added a lot of callsigns and updated the voicepack (.gvp) several times without any problems. But recently I get an error every time I try to update the .gvp. The error message says that "Source array was not long enough. Check srcIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds." I really don't have any idea what this means, but as I said there were no problems before. It's worth mentioning, probably, that apart from updating the .gvp with EditVoicepack (EVP), I have also decompiled it, made some changes (More specifically I changed the labels for new aircraft types and models from AC_NAME to A…

A little heads up for everyone. The new Simubuild A340-600 is quite sensational, but the aircraft.cfg still has the old FS2002 glitched lines in the Autopilot section. Don't forget to fix those before you go flying off with this great bird. Here's how I fixed mine:[autopilot]autopilot_available=1flight_director_available=1default_vertical_speed=2000.0autothrottle_available=1autothrottle_arming_required=1autothrottle_max_rpm=96autothrottle_takeoff_ga=1pitch_takeoff_ga=8use_no_default_bank=1use_no_default_pitch=1Lee

http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bb...TML/000365.html There's a link to a CFS2 thread where the clouds I used are discussed. I think they're by Chris Willis. His V3 pack?? File name is RpR13Cld . Just do a search in the library here. I'll try find the direct link. They're 16bit FS2000 clouds but work beautifully in FS2K2 and are real easy on the framerates. I used the CLD bmps (don't remember which set) and the four Cirrus bmps. I used the more modern colored Thunderstorm clouds. If you set fsuipc clouds to show high level layer, you'll get this effect with the sky full of vapor trails. It's kinda neat. Do a search in avsim library using "Replacement Clouds …

Hi, I was shopping for my next payware add-on and found this news at FSGateway.com: Reality XP is doing a Oshkosh Special at $24.95 for their GPS and radio stack. They have had great reviews and it looks to be a very good product any flight simmer must have. However, I

If Simubuild was a real airline.1. Fares would be free, I love Freeware...2. The coach section would be the roomiest ever...loads of nice legroom3. People would still complain about the service though or the colour of textures or something. Thanks Simubuild for all your efforts and time and to the repainters for painting the liveries. You are all great people and that also goes to everyone who does freeware stuff.....ThanksWhat a great start to the weekend.Craig Kiltie

Today I went to Oshkosh (live just north of Madison, WI) for my 5th year. As always, a great time with so much to see, especially in the antique warbird area. However, I also waited about 10 minutes to sit in the Eclipse 500, the soon-to-be certified $850,000 state of the art econojet (a term I use, perhaps not accurate). I spoke for awhile with a representative who informed me that the likes of Bill Gates and other Billionaires are behind this expensive endeavor. She told me that besides the operating cost of only .59 cents per mile, the aircraft would be used as a national "air taxi" to get ordinary people from regional airports like Whitman (obviously in between ai…

For the fifteenth time in a few years, another flatlander finds out there's a rather large obstacle when flying West along I-70 in Colorado.Flatlanders from Canada (they're usually from Texas), flying a really small plane - with no turbocharging - in the mountains - in Colorado - found out that they didn't have enough power to get over Loveland Pass when reaching the Eisenhower Tunnel. No Kidding Sherlock. They didn't realize the highway didn't go all the way from Denver to Grand Junction in a lovely valley low enough for a powerless plane to fly all the way through. This is a popular route for people who didn't look at maps to go - and they all end up in a pile at Lovel…
