Well they came this past Friday; the two GF-166 GoFlight units I ordered. These were the first products I purchased from GoFlight. I had the mounting stand for about a week now, but the GF-166's were on backorder from the place I ordered from. By the way, the mounting stand isn't much fun by itself :-lolAnyway, now that I have them, my wife is a FS2K2 widow. My kids are begging to get on the computer (god it's good to be the boss)! I can get off the ground in the FFG DC-10 (NWA Colors) when i take up the plane accelerats really slow and it takes forever to get off ground i am like 1000 feet past an 11000 foot runway before I can get up even with flaps set!Any help?

Greetings All,Some of you may be aware of my recent trials and tribulations concerning the assembly of my latest computer. I finally have everything up and running, but I have a minor problem with the new "server" (see my profile comments to see full system details). Here's what I think is important. The mainboard is an ASUS A7V333 with onboard sound (AC97). The problem? In FS2K2 (and only in FS2K2) I have this underlying crackling sound when I run aircraft, both default and third party. I'm referring to the one in the shot I took below... Quickly became one of my favs after a few small tweaks to the aircraft.cfg.... But I saw a post @ flightsimnetwork.com saying it was pulled from flightsim's library. Checked Avsim's, and it was gone as well. Does anyone know why? I have a couple of questions that have been building up for you guys. Here they all are in one post :-)a) A big limitation for me in Fs2K2 is not being able to fly when I want to during the real world weather for that time. That is, I get home at 5:30, so all my real-weather flights are limited to 5:30-10:00. Is there a way to download weather for earlier in the day so that I may fly a realistic flight during realistic weather anytime in the day. I asked this question previously and got a response of GetWeather I believe, but have been unable to find it. Hi pros,I am using a two monitor setup now for some time and I still have probs at times.Initially when I set it up everything is as it should be. But after some time I stumble over the following problems.1. After switching between the Windows desktop and FS2002 I cannot move the mouse over to the 2nd monitor anymore. I first have to click a window on the first monitor and move it, or enlarge it. Then suddenly I can move the mouse over. This problem is only FS2002 related. It never occurs on the desktop.2. Spent the day in Oshkosh and had the chance to speak with MS development team members for CFS3. As I suspected, the booth was crawling with teens eager to "splash" enemy aircraft and so I had little actual viewing of the pre-Beta program. And I had on a pair of prescription sunglasses (meaning I was blind if I took them off) so viewing was difficult on flat screen monitors in sunlight.However, I did get to see the "clouds." Unlike FS2K2, the combat sim is less friendly to folks who really custom set their weather. You can add clouds and weather to missions, but the options are less than in FS2K2. Flyers: I have a friend who suddenly has just got to get into simming with me on MSFS202. I run a decent system. He wants decent, but mid range on the pricing. Real quick: Can you recommend your motherboard? Type of memory? Video Card? CPU? I am trying to spec out his system now. He needs a system that will run the sim well enough, look good enough, but not eat him alive on bucks. So, what is it to be: Athlon? Athlon XP? Pentium 3? 4? Which Mainboard: I like FIC or Soyo but what do you think? What combination might make a good mid-range system. jerrycwo4In FS2002, when you are also using the Flight Deck Companion, right after you start taxing, they call for "TAXI CHECKS" and the 2nd item that they require is that the AUTOPILOT be ENGAUGED. They will NOT continue with the Taxi Checks until "The check list item is corrected". I don't know what happened to my Falcon 50 to where it would NOT let me engage the AP while taxing, but I COMPLETELY UN- installed the Falcon 50 with all all of its gauges, files, etc and after I re-installed it, it would then let me engauge to AP while taxing and the problem was fixed. I downloaded this new PA A-320 form all the screens i saw it looks great!! But I have a problem with the plane Shaking and Shimmering in FS2002!! it's Like it does not want to idle!! Because when i release the parking brakes, and even with the parking brakes on, the plane creeps foward on it's own with the power at idle!!?? This and the POSKY A-330 have this shake and shimmering in FS2002! I know it is not the scenery as it is only default! I posted this type of question before, but no one really gave me input on how to fix this thing?? I don't know if it's the planes Airfile's itself, or maybe my Joy Stick?? jerrycwo4Recently, I have notice that if i try to engauge the auto pilot on the Falcon 50 (FS2002) that it only makes a 'beeping' sound and will NOT hold, or stay engauged. In this case, I am unable to use the Flight Deck Companion (FDC) check off list that requires that the AP be engauged before take off. AFTER I am airborne, the AP will stay engauged. The AP used to stay engaged on the ground and I do not know what has happen to make it only stay engaged in the air. Has anyone else had this happen or know why ? Thanks Jerry

Hey, I hope someone can help me here. I just downloaded FSScenery by LAGO and can't get the darn serial # to work because one of the letters in the serial # is "lower case" and my pc keeps changing it to an upper case. How friggin frustrating! How do I keep this computer of mine from doing what IT wants to and keep what I'm actually typing into the darn field????I have gone into Word and basically unchecked everything in Autoformat and this beast is still doing it's own thing. Nothing like paying for a product and not being able to use it because some genius had to add 1 friggin lower case letter to the serial #.

This is a new problem, I think. Recently, I did a fresh install of fs2k2. Now, whenever I start from an airport that is near water, the shimmering effect runs over on to the airport (see attached picture). I've noticed this at Meigs and KSFO, but haven't tried any others. Has anyone else had this problem? Earl

I never used AA4s before because I tought it was to damned slow.However I tried it out a couple of days before and found that I did not loose a lot of fps at all and so I thought:"I should have tried this before. The picture quality is fantastic together with AF level2. Great setting."I easily reached like 22 fps (locked at 23) in the alps with Gaia mesh and huge clouds all around me all the time. Until I changed my drivers by accident back to the 29.42s. FPS dropped to 12.3 in exactly the same setup. So I guess AA4s was damned slow before and the 30.30s make all the difference, they completely rock(!!!) I guess.Can someone confirm this or am I just a little confused?Alex
