I am seeing little puffs of smoke leaking out of both engines when everything is turned off. When flying, the little puffs continue behind the aircraft. How do I turn off this smoke?

Hi all, I currently am attemping to smoothen up my sim and I have run into problems again with VSYNC. Essentially my understanding is that setting your ingame FPS lock to 30 and using half refresh with adaptive vsync apparently gives great smoothness. I have tried this and well FSX runs exactly the same as FSX without VSYNC but I am instead limiting my FPS to 30 which is stuttery and choppy on a 60HZ monitor. What is the trick here? Am I missing a setting somewhere because I do not see any point in even having VSYNC on let alone further causing stutters by setting it to limit your FPS by half. I don't see any real tangible benefit to VSYNC except where you can mai…

Cheers guys. It happens that I have the most common problem a lot of folks who play FSX have. BLURRIES, scenery and terrain not loading etc etc... I see so many videos on youtube of guys that have a pc rig identic as mine and run the game with no such problems. For example this one:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03vcqAOxdz8 In this video and others we can see that there is no scenery problems. I even have a better pc rig than this guy and I can't get this results! We can see how defined and HDish the scenery is. Believe my I've read many TWEAK GUIDES all over the internet, I've made a lot of changes but never could achieve that results as my FPS are also quite unstab…

Friends, I just purchased PrecipitFX from FSFX studios, and gave it a run, and oh my goodness, it looks so incredible. It has COMPLETELY revolutionized flying in any kind of adverse or even mild weather. I absolutely recommend it. Includes amazing new rain and snow effects (That also work in P3D V2 to eliminate 'warp tunnels'), 3D wingtip vortices and contrails, engine spray effects for any aircraft, brake smoke for those RTO's, and so much more, especially in their 777 Immersion package for the PMDG T7, which also looks incredible with accurate and realistic vortices from the wingtips, flaps and even the engine nacelles (!), engine nacelle condensation (!!), and a whole…

There has been some recent discussion about which software package works with ATC. My needs might be a bit different. I'm looking for voice software that can replace keypresses in FSX. I especially want to replace the 1, 2, 3.. button pushes that are required when you are interacting with the radio. Perhaps this still falls under the category of ATC, but I do mainly GA VFR flights, so I don't need a lot of sophistication. I've got the Saitek Radio panel and voice commands would allow me to pretty much eliminate the keyboard or mouse for radio work. I've done some reading on Voice Buddy, It's Your Plane and SpeechBuddy. Are there others? Anyone have experien…

I wonder if anyone has found information on LVFR's new KSNA compatibility with other add-ons - specifically MSX SoCal and US Cities X Los Angeles. When KSAN released I recall compatibility information being readily available, but I haven't been able to find anything about KSNA. Scott

I have recently purchased FSx SE and some (many!)add-ons from FTX Orbx as well as Sibwings An-2 and A2A 182 (both are amazing, simply amazing). The performance is stunning (Steam version works great here!), reminds me of the good ol´times with FS9. But I miss Fs Passengers. I really do. All add-ons I have work with Steam except 2, one will have its fix soon (AS Next) but the other never will, Fs Passenger.... :( So, what would be a valid alternative to it nowadays? Thanks in advance.

Just thought I would post here, just in case you don't visit the MCE forum , further down Any questions then please drop them into the MCE forum. Thanks Today, the FS++ Team have released a new edition called "MCE Lite Edition". The target audience is the occasional simmer who wants to enjoy voice control, and talking to native ATC without breaking the bank. This package is restricted to the FSX & FS9 default aircraft only. There is No RC4 or PFE ATC support in this edition, and users don't have access to the advanced Voxscript or Voxkey features. No GSX & AES support in this edition either. Incidentally, this is the edition that won MCE…

I havent been around around in a while so sorry if this issue has been raised and discussed, cant find such posts. So I bought the GTN750 and really like it, but I am thinking of using it on a separate touch screen monitor. Anyone doing this? I would really appreciate feedback on how you find it working and also what monitors (make/model/size) do you use for the dedicated GTN750 on separate monitor. please share your tips and experiences

Ok so I've had my custom rig for a few months now, an I7-5930k (OC'd to 4.5 ghz), an EVGA edition gtx 780 TI, 1 Tb HD and a 250 gb SSD, 2666 MHz ddr4, and a gigabyte x99 gaming 5 motherboard. It is a beast. However, after my latest purchase (fsdreamteam lax V2), I've been having stutters and they are pretty bad even when I'm not at LAX. I uninstalled LAX but the stutters are still there. I'll turn on my frame counter and in an external view in my PMDG 777 at a payware airport, I would hit 40-50 FPS. With the stutters it won't even go past that and it's very inconsistent. I set up fsx and my rig according to nick n's the bible and I'm just really confused to what is causin…

Hi all. I'm so close to having all of my FSX.CFG settings to perfect, but I'm still having some slight issues with AntiAliasing. There's a decent screenshot dump down below, I'll post my FSX.CFG in the comments, system stats are below, and screenshot from Nvidia Inspector. I have read most of the start-up guides and configuration guides, and have done the FSX.CFG generator, just to get that out of the way. I'm just missing a few small details, that must be leading to some of this jaggedness... I also am using DX10. If you guys could help me get it running just that much more smoother, it would be awesome. I'd appreciate it. I've seen some kickass screenshots in FSX he…

One of the most important jetliners of the last 50 years, operated by the most important airlines in the world, and there is not any good quality dc-10 creation for fsx, is there any reason for this? We have seen good dc-9, 727, 737, l1011 ( the captain sim is a big advance for theme) 757,747,767 320 etc and no dc-10. Really sad, they are being retired all over the world and we will not be able to learn his systems, flight dynamics, ops...really sad. A big hole in flight simulator world.

Good evening all - Just wondering for users who have the B2 Stealth Bomber from Aerosoft - how do you open those engine doors that you see in photos of the B2 open when taking off or landing? I can't seem to figure that out any way at all with that plane. I finally got the bomb bay doors to open, but that last part is the mystery. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

A strange one, this. I found an invisible crash area at a taxiway site at Stapleford EGSG. I am using UK2000's Southern Airfields v2. I disable the airfield (which removes all relevant files), install Orbx Stapleford, but the invisible crash happens in roughly the same spot. I have also removed the Orbx default Stapleford files that comes with Orbx England. Still a crash event occurs. Now I've disabled UK2000's Stapleford (and will actually deactivate the entire product) deleted fully the Orbx Stapleford and default Orbx Stapleford, and tomorrow I will go and have a look. i t should just be FSX default. If I get an invisible crash on the FSX default, then I'm all out…

Hi Guys This is my first post but I have been using this site for info since I got into flight simming 3 years ago I love flying the Dash 8 q400 but the only thing I have noticed is that in outside view (looking at the cockpit) the pilots are constantly bracing (grabbing their heads) at the slightest bump of turbulence. It seems extremely sensitive but I can't find posts regarding this online which makes me think I may be doing something wrong. I have followed a lot of tutorials but hopefully their may be some ideas on here to stop it as I can't film any landings the way it is as it just looks stupid. FYI i use prepar3d Cheers

I see Just Flight have revampt their website, making it much harder to get through to a 'real person' for support. Anyone else had trouble installing the Majestic Q400 from Just Flight? For the last two days, all I get is 'Cannot Connect to Server'! Frustrating:(

Occasionally I'll see a video that shows spots on the window of the aircraft. Awhile back I believe there was a post on here telling how it is done. Couldn't find it in a search, so I'm asking if anyone knows how it's done can you post it here ? Thanks

I have probably installed some of this backwards but at the time when I installed these programs I thought I was doing it right. So back when I first started using FSX I installed FTX Global. I then came across a program called UTX-USA and installed that cause I did most of my flying in the USA. Now I have come across a program called GEX-NA or something close to that. Can I install GEX on top of UTX with FTX still being there? I am using the FTX night lighting so I really would like to keep that. Or is actually having UTX+GEX a big FPS hit? In other countries I actually get way higher FPS with just the FTX program so I know UTX puts quite the strain on my system I am…
