I thought all Airbuses used sidesticks instead of central control columns. Then I saw a documentary film which showed American Airlines A330s (340s?) with a central control column.Have Airbus changed their policy, or is this just an operator specific change?

A quick need of help from anyone familiar with the iFDG 757-200. I just installed the most recent updated version of the America West livery, and I've discovered I'm missing the front gear tire textures. If anyone knows which file that is (they're quite cryptic), I can take it from one of my other iFDG 757's that's showing up properly.Thanks in advanceScott

Hi,I posted this question in the Support Forum, but there is a lot more activity over here, so I thought I would give it a try. Maybe I'm in the wrong place, but does anyone have an idea why the fuel gauges for the B-25J do not work? Everything else is fine. By the way, except for this issue, I have enjoyed this airplane more than any I have flown in FS. And that goes back to the first FS.Thanks for any help.Bill

LOL, I know the answer is obviously "no", but what would our lives be if we could never see the FPS we get? Maybe we wouldn't worry so much about our hardware and start enjoying the sim as it is! :(We would notice some "fluidity" changes, but sometimes it just seems worse when you hit SHIFT+Z twice and see you're running 7 FPS hehe.So what do you think? Is it the hitting SHIFT+Z twice that makes our FS lives miserable?? (lol, I know I'm exaggerating, but you get the point ;))

everytime I fly the AFG NAMC YS-11 the engines cut out after about 2 min of flight. Any ideasPeter

I was wondering if anyone has noticed this problem with Richard's latest 727 panel. It seems that with any degree of flaps extended, performing steep left banks that call for spoilers on the banking wing (flaperons?) give you a sharp alarm that doesn't sound on steep right turns that also activate the spoilers. In fact there is no way to extend spoilers when any measure of flaps is set without hearing this very annoying alarm. I understand that on approach with initial flap settings you should be able to slow down using spoilers. Let me say this, This is a very very nice airplane. I'm enjoying flying it very much. My friend Wayne Edsall who lives in Bozeman, MT has the only Fleet 9 bi-plane left in the world. It was originally owned by the Dupont paint guy (don't recall the name, ha) But the two airplanes look a lot a like. I took my best shot and re-painting it orange like Edsalls, but no luck. If there is any way you could re-paint the plane all orange and replace the yellow pin-stipe with a black one I'd be very very greatful. Im really no good at re-painting them anyway. But really what I wanted to say was great job, and Im glad someone decided to upload a fleet. Great work! Ty89m

My choice is the YS11, mostly because of the VC. I fly it more often than most of my payware aircrafts. I also like the ability to move about the virtual cabin.

Yeah, it would be really nice... padlock a runway end, a point on the ground, and so forth...Even better to have a padlock view which "remembers" your target so you could, say, switch back and forth from your instruments to the threshold.Just saying.Andrew

I don't know what I did, but all of sudden strobes on all aircraft are flashing faster than they normally do. I must of hit a combination of keys to change the rate somehow. Anyone got any clues how to get them back to normal?Thanks!

Hi all, I have a question regarding Autolands.When flying The A3xx series of planes I always autoland, but im thinking that this is wrong and surley it cant be that in the real world all airbuses land in full auto surley real world pilots like to land their craft manually. if you guys have the time can you answer the following questions for me:1)When should an autoland be done? 2)when should an autoland not be done? 3)Is it true that while doing an autoland in an 757 - 767 you let the autopilot fly it down to say 800ft AGL then you disconnect the AP and fly the rest manually.Sorry if my questions sound newbie, but i cant get my head round some of the landing concepts.Than…

Some time ago I downloaded and installed some addon scenery for Teesside (EGNV) by Don Alexander I think. I got a little extra scenery more than I bargained for (see pics) LOL, can anyone explain this apparition, it dissapears when I revert to default scenery.Pete

Why does my 747-200 (ready for pushback) suddenly try to land to the right of 27R when I engage the ILS? I have tried the RFP Forum and they have tried it with the default 777. Vor engages Ok but as soon as the ILS is intercepted, the plane suddenly turns right. Nav 1 and Nav 2 are set to 110.15, auto pilot set to Nav and I have tried this over and over. Is there a fix for this airport or how would I go about correcting this bug myself?Regards Nitram UK

I really would like to have a virtual helmet to boot! I have been sitting in front of a screen for ages now! The screens are improving, but still you get the tunnel vision effect! I'm ready to upgrade my system, but the idea to buy another monitor, let it be 40" flat with razorsharp image (seen it), it still is a very limited field of vision; absolutely no periferal eyesight whatsoever! Just had a very abortive flight in an Aardvark 733. Using it as it's the only bmibaby livery I am aware of. Is it possible to substitute the flight dynamics in order to make it flyable? I was using the default panel and at each turn, the autopilot simply lost the plot, throttling the engines back to idle and the nose was bouncing all over the place. Tried to make an "emergency" landing, but just lost it on final approach. I was a little too high and fast, but in the blink of an eye had crashed on the runway.Can I substitute the default 734 dynamics? I know it's not quite right, but at least it'll be flyable!!TIA!

I recently reinstalled FS2002 because I had installed so many planes and panels that the FS2002 directoy was becoming too big.Anyway, after reinstalling it, I now have this annoying problem. When I fly through clouds, the sound crackles, and ATC sounds distorted. It only seems to happen when flying through clouds, when the clouds are far a way or there are only some small clouds visible, there are no problems. It's really annoying when you're trying to hear what ATC is saying to you but you can't hear anything because of the distorted audio.My system is:AthlonXP 1900+, 512MB RAM, Ti500 64MB, Hercules Fortissimo II soundcard, IBM 60GXP 40GB, WindowsXP (without SP1), DX8.1

I had a break this afternoon, so I thought I would take the MS default Beech King Air for a flight from ATL to DCA. Things were going fine until ATC told me to lower my altitude to 2400 feet. On the autopilot, there was not an option between 2700 and 1600 feet. That is, I was able to click it down normally to 2700 feet as it should. However, the next click below 2700 feet was 1600 feet instead of 2600. What I did then was to turn off the autopilot and lowered my altitude to 2400 manually and then followed the ATC instuctions. At that point, my altitude began to oscillate wildy, and it took all I could do to hold the plane steady. It shot me down to 1800 feet before…

now I'm flying FFX B737-200 with the default B737-400 sound. doesn't know weather the -200 P&W engine is much different from the -400 model. If it is much different is there any soundpack for the 737-200 available anywhere?

I allready had the same problem when I got FS2002: The simulation paused for a quarter to half a second right at the moment of touchdown. At the same time you could hear HD activityAt that time my sys specs were just to weak to handle the sim. Then I upgraded from 128MB SDRAM to 512 MB SDRAM and the problem was solved. Later I bought a GeForce 3 Ti200 and performance was just great.Now, since approx 2 weeks this stuttering and HD activity is back - for no obvious reason, since I have not made any changes within the sim or with my system at that time. Hi, I'm wondering if someone knows if the author of this great add-on has or plans to / release an upgrade to stop FS from crashing? I've tried every available clue/tip to make it work, but the second I request ATIS FS crashes.I also have AIView (which is great) but honestly AImap provides better information IMO.Thanks for any answer given,Gabriel.
