Anyone making assumptions yet? Most of us have seen a few dozen FS2k4 beta shots by now, although most seem to be in dense scenery areas (I've seen about 3 shots of Oshkosh so far). Do you think they'll bump up the overall accuracy of roads, rivers, coastlines, lakes... maybe railroads? FS2k2 seems to be based off the MS Encarta road and river database. Wouldn't it be great if they based FS2k4 off MS Streets and Trips instead?Any thoughts?Paul

Can anyone tell me about Weather Maker Personal Edition 1.4?The documentation that comes with it just talks about what settings to change in FSUIPC and the website only talks about the versions that are still to be released.I guess I'm just looking for info about what it does and doesn't do (preferably compared to FS2002's default weather options).Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick. Lately it seems I have to recalibrate it quite often. The axis control seems to be the one giving me the most problems. When I go to takeoff the plane will not lift up. I also had a problem with the slider control, where the throttle would stick at about 60 percent and would not throttle down. Could I have a defective joystick? Thanks.

I downloaded the great Stearman by David Eckert, and wow, great plane.. But everytime I turn the engine off the gauges dissapear (in virtual cockpit) also, the prop dissapears after the engine starts. Im not sure what the deal is, but If anyone has a clue, I would be very greatful for some advice. ALSO, I downloaded the YS-11 by Alliedfsgroup and, also, a very nice add-on. But the sound doesn't work? Im very confused on this one. It uses the default King air sounds, but when I try and use the airplane theres no sounds. I would really appreciate any help you guys/gals could give me, Thanks! Ty89m

Lago may be on to something here. The activity created by FS2002 in relatively calm air is not very realistic. If this addon creates a more reasonable set of directional variations, due to a variety of levels of turbulence and winds, then that will be a winner.However, will the new weather claimed by FS2004 overshadow this product and render it moot?Dick KLBE

Hi All, Is there a way to get fs2002 ATC to allow you to follow completley, your flight plan in your FMC, For example Last night i flew from Denver to Las Vegas, my PSS A321, All went well untill ATC vectored me in to the mountins to left of and before RW25L at KLAS. I planed this flight perfectly with FSNAV so that i would follow the STAR for 25L which i knew was the active runway, but fs2002 ATC Had its own Ideas. If i dont follow ATC they cancel my plan and then im not guranteed a landing slot at my destination, and usually get a go around, or cant find out the active runway. I always File the plan with ATC as IFR VOR-VOR as this seems the best way to get ATC to follow…

I know, b/c I flew the 717 full motion in Long Beach two months ago.....is it just me, or does their version look a little cartoonish for $22....The VC is pretty bad and the outside isn't anything to write home about. Did they do the screenshots on a low res monitor or with no AA?

just wanted to know if anyone has had any success playing around with the airfile for the PSS airbus to fix the tendency of this otherwise good aricraft to NOT climb like a rocket - 7000-8000 fpm!!is the Project airbus airfile any better and how does it work with the PSS apnel??

Don't know about you, but everytime Microsoft brought out a new MSFS, I was probably the first one in Electronics Boutique or Babbages or Best Buy to get one of the first 10 copies. I usually ABANDON THE OLD VERSION IMMEDIATELY, AND DON'T LOOK BACK! I've never been one to "wait and see" how it works or what the feedback is...I just assume it's going to be better, and it almost always is. I look forward with tremendous anticipation for the new MSFS in July.So..........my question is, "Should we still be adding new utility programs or new payware models to MSFS2002 at this point? I downloaded Island Hoppers Piper Chieftain pa31v5.zip awhile back and just went to use it last night for the first time in a long time.The obs and adf do not register even thought the radio freqs are set right.I use approach and it lines me up with the runway OK but does not show on the gauge.So far it hasn't caught the glideslope either,but hard to tell if I am too high since no indicator on gauges.I went to aircraft.cfg to check radio settings and there weren't any.Copied Baron radio settings and the the needle seemed to line up with runway but no indicator for glideslope.Tried emailing [email protected] but mail came back.Can anyone enlighten me on this proble…

Quick question before I go out and get the 9700 Pro. Should I wait for the 9800 Pro, or will the features of the 9700 be content enough with what COF will be able to use? Has anyone heard if COF will be a little more reliant on vid cards or not?Just curiousLobaeux

I am wondering if anyone could help me with a problem with the CH VP Pro yoke (gameport)...when sitting in the Cessna 172 the rpm will not go below 1200 (this happens with all a/c) and when I hit the F1 key the rpm will go down, grudgingly, to 600 and upon release of the F1 key the rpm climbs back up to 1200+. I have re-installed the Flt Sim (FS2002), re-installed drivers for the CH VP Pro (chanalog08.exe) and re-calibrated with no improvement. My system is PII 600, 256 Ram, Win 98SE, directX 8.1. As well, my friend who has the same yoke and pedals (that work fine) hooked them up to my machine and had the same problems...so I have deduced that the problem is not with the …

Hi guys,I would like to have some help on this problem with the A320 PIC. Everytime it seems like the aircaft is on Autopilot, because when I steer left it corrects me and i can't even pull it up and get it to roll on the runway.It's like it does respond to my joystick only it will go it's own way during the flight so it keeps making speed when slewing into the air, and when landing it wants to go up and not down??????????????????So if someone knows something about this problem then feel free to replyMany thanks,L.Jim

Hiya guys,I would like some help on the next case: I tried to make a flight with a double prop, but with giving full during take-off the aircraft ALWAYS turns left and this always happens with all the porps in FS2002. I have the offical Olympic Airways AI package from Project AI and since FS2002 didn't include the new Athens airport (LGAV) I need a good LGAV scenery to download. Which LGAV scenery is the best? I seen one here on avsim by George Dorkofikis (file name is lgav2002.zip) is that a good one?

I am running FS2002 W98SE,on a 733Mhz. 256 MB, with the Ti 4600 128 graphics card. Not blazing fast, I know. But the refresh rate is usually in the 15-20 frames/second, until I touch the wheels back on the ground after a flight. The motion becomes lurching and halting. Even the sound of the engine turns on and off. If I slew UP a foot off of the ground, it is smooth as silk again. I am looking for any advice on this issue.

I just built my system to aamd 2600+ xp atlonmsi mb ktv4(MS-6712)1 gb ddr 2700 ramRadeon 9500 video cardsound blaster audigyI loaded operating system updated windows with all patches, latest drivers, directX 9, every thing I can think of.Every thing works, except when I start fs2002 and I click on "Create Flight" it does not show the plane in the bottom of the screen, it locks up and the reboots about 10 seconds after it locks up.When Windows boots back up it comes up with an error report that says it was the Radeon 9500 that caused the system stability problem.Please help, I have heard this video card is worth the trouble.Robert747-400

We all have our favourites -- but what is it that we like about them so much.So what is the VERY best of those out there -- and WHY are they the VERY best.For me , the best around is Oleksey Frolovs' Dash8-300 . The reason for this is the accuracy of the panel, combined with the heart stopping sounds and the (almost) complete implementation of all the aircraft systems. He is currently working on an FMC to go with it. OK - so it has no VC and the aircraft model is not the greatest . But the 3 aspects I named are what does it for me.So- what are your thoughts here? Please though - if you do have a real favourite , give your reasons of WHY it appeals to you so much.

I need to know what payware and freeware aircrafts and panels to get.Thanks.
