Hey fellow simpilots, I have known for awhile now, that Microsoft needs to fix some issues in Fs 2002. For example the glide slope capture on Dreamfleet 737-400 aircraft? (very annoying). Does anyone know if they are going to address these in a Fs2002 patch? Or are they going to just wait on Fs 2004 and make a PERFECT flight sim?Thanx Geo

Would any of you "Golden" boys (and girls) please offer some info as to how well modeled the MS versions of the Garmin GPS 500 and GPSMAP 295 are compared to their real world counterparts? Are the manuals that can be had at garmin's web site applicable (in broad terms) to the operation of these units in FS2k4?Thanks!sg

Howdy all,I wasn't going to do this, but do any of you remember where the FSUIPC setup was going to have a deal where previous payware stuff that required FSUIPC would have a crippled version that would allow that particular item to work, for free? This from PFC:"Note: Regarding the release of the next PFC DLL and FSUIPC for FS20041. We will not be releasing any BETA drivers.2. When we have a release version of the PFC DLL and FSUIPC, and it has been tested with all of our equipment it will then and only then become available.3. PFC DLL and FSUIPC will require a small fee. (Please don't be upset, I'm sure you had to purchaseFS2004.)4. Keep an Eye on this page for updates."…

Hi, Does the AI traffic perform DP and STARs?I know the plan is still direct circle style for every flight, but how is the approach done this time around? Thanks

... that fs2004 has many unexpected features. One of the beta-testers revealled to me two things that are certainly welcomed by former MSFS users:1) Most certainly, the FS team tweaked the turbulence model in fs2004, and from what I hear, not only turbulence is now modelled very realistically but also the gages (IAS and VS for instance) appear to filter the abrupt changes, thus not showing those wild and unrealistic variations we were used to in previous versions. I was told that now, although they "suffer" from gusts and turbulence, the needles move realistically - can anyone confirm?2) When one engages engine anti-ice on the Beechcraft Kingair, various engine parameters…

I have just picked up a GeForce FX 5200 video card which is allegedly DrictX9 enabled. As I understand it FS2004 was developed with DirectX9.The only DirectX9 software I currently have is the New TombRaider game and I

I just purchased Ultimate Traffic and WOW!! It's going to turn me into a commerical airliner simmer yet! Very nice indeed. It brought up an interesting question... since I have all of these real world airlines doing real world flights, I found myself actually wanting to 'ride' on a few of them, instead of doing the obligatory newbie maneuver of following them all the way from departure to arrival. Does anyone know if there's a way to set the camera to lock onto an AI aircraft through the duration of its flight? Might be kind of fun. Of course, I expect it'll make me nervous to go screaming past a Cessna at a few hundred feet on final at a smaller commercial airport.…

OK -Based on what I've read in the forums, for those installingFS2004 on the same computer as our existing FS2K2 installation, the add-on scenery folder can just be "referenced" to by FS2004.In other words, we do NOT need to copy/install our existing FS2K2scenery to the FS2004 installation area. There may be somescenery exceptions, however. My question is if we can reference/point to/shortcut our existingFS2K2 aircraft folders in FS2004. What I'd like to do is ratherthan copy the same aircraft into the FS2004 installation folderarea, simply make a shortcut in the FS2004 installation are tomy existing FS2K2 aircraft. This will save disk space. When I'm read to move fully yo F…

I have been trying fs2004 for about a week now. Each time I use it I find new, mostly positive, things about it...I would like to focus on the following, for this message:1) Weather settings and Turbulence model;=========================================This has improved quite a LOT! I don't exactly know how they did it, but the fact is that we now have the most great turbulence I have tasted in any of the flightsims I used, equalled only by FU3 and PS1.3...Another important improvement is that the new airspeed gages have been designed to filter abrupt IAS changes, and when you're flying across turbulent and gusting winds, instead of the wild/abrupt/unrealistic jumps we no…

Guess the monitor didn't like my joke on "Flipping Elevators" - but here it is again; Some aircraft go into wild gyrations in my setup with wildly flipping elevators after about a minute of flight. Examples seem to be more Classic Aircraft than others (Chris Buff's Electra, Connies from Calclassics, etc). I thought I read somewhere before that it was due to Force Feedback joystick (I have Original MS model). Can anyone clue me in on this subject?Dave Hinson

This link was posted on another FS site...http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/editorial/revie...&popf_id=234941It certainly provides quite a diverse set of views on MSFS or rather the non-shoot em up genre of simulators. These views IMHO are more reflective of the general public that MS is trying to cater for, than what you'd get at this forum or others like it.Makes for some interesting reading... I've been using FSMeteo for years for my weather in FS and it always worked flawlessly. Lately, however, whenever I use the program, all I get is clear skys and no winds even when I know there should be clouds and winds. It seems as though it isn't downloading the weather like it should. This happens weather I use FEMETEO or VATSIM weather. Is anyone else having any problems with FSMeteo? ThanksRay

Can any bona fide beta tester give their opinion please if FS2004 ILS system reacts more like it was in FS2000 (easy, more forgiving) or like FS2002 (harder, picky about your weight and speed, etc.)?Thanks in advance !!-=William Hatfield King=-

hi all,i am experimenting with my 2 monitors using fs2002. There is another great trick if you have a Geforce 3 or 4 card and using the nview with the drivers, you can span across 2 monitors and get a huge gigantic view, like i have 2 monitors at 17" therefore i am getting 34" horizontal, at 2048 x 768, it looks really good, however the 2d cockpit looks abit cheesy but the wing views looks a treat!however the drawback is that in external view, spot view, the plane is center of the screen and partially hidden from the 2 monitor frames.I am wondering if anyone else plays fs2002 like this, the sim spanned across 2 monitors? Do you like it? Or do you think 1 21 inch monitor is…

I have purchased FS FALCON from lagoonline.com I paid for it and and got the code for the download. I went to download it and a little license agreement screen pops and you cant modify the window to select yes no agree etc... So with that in mind I closed the window and clicked on the file and right clicked and then save target as and then it gave me an error. I don't understand why I can't download it!! You should be able to download it right now without paying but after you download it and try to unzip then it will ask for a code. Does anyone have this product and used the download site and worked?? If you have please send me a link to click on so I can download it or …

hi all,i downloaded directX 9 and installed in my flightsim computer, i have two monitors and i always wanted to have my right monitor to have exclusive views as a 'passenger' sitting next to the wing.I tried undocking the wing view and placed it to my second monitor, it worked fine, but the frame rates went from 20 to 2, so i thought oh well nothing i can do about it unless i had a second computer and used wide view.Anyway i installed directx 9 and booted up fs2002, i then went to my graphics section and changed the resolution from 1024x768 to 2048x768, i then went into flightsim pressed the "[" key and got another view, so i dragged this view to my second monitor and th…

Hey all,Have you noticed that you can get cloud density that rivals FS2004 in FS2K2? Maybe I'm the last weener to figure this out, but by by default, the FS2002.cfg entry for "cloud sprite density" is set to 1.00000 even with the slider all the way up. I got curious and set the value to 5.00000, and went flying. Holy cow! There's a whole lot more clouds out there! Now I always figured that 0.00000 is the minimum, and 1.00000 is the max. Apparently this is not true...I set the value as high as 50, and on my 3.06GHz, my frames dropped to about 7. Setting 20 yielded an incredible amount of clouds, but frames hovered around 15. Finally I set the value to 12, and I can get rea…
