Is anybody using this weather program still? I had used it last year quite a bit to download weather data at my work computer so that I could install it on my home computer (where I have fs2002 but no internet connection) and get "on line" weather. It worked pretty good. Haven't used it in quite a while until today and am having no luck downloading weather with it. I am now at a different job and am on a proxy server. I have enabled that in the settings of GetWeather and have detected my server but downloads continously fail.Anybody have any suggestions or news on this program? Thanks in advanceScott Smith

We probably will all agree that FS2002 has been our most enjoyable and successful version of FS so far. Right after its release I remember seeing a post that there would be no patches or improvements to be made for FS02, rather that Microsoft was putting all energy into FS2004. As good as it was, we all probably noticed some nagging bugs and quirks that a few patches probably could have fixed. (I never could get the flight video to work right and I was annoyed by the overcast sky meeting blue sky above the horizon.) Regardless, we put up with the small bugs and carried on. I just couldn't understand why MS just seemed to be saying "OK, here it is, now don't bother us." In…

I have just dl'd this wonderful plane, but haven't been able to enjoy, due to what I hope is a tech problem.I only get 5fps, at thats at gatwick, which is relatively sparse. I am only using stock AI, and no other add ons. Normally, with a Meljet Craft ( quite FPS intensive) I get around 22-28 fps. With the same settings, I get only 5fps with the aerodesign a340.Can anyone help?Regards,Bob.

I would like to know if the following information I picked up is true:1. When there is low visibility on the ground (like a ground haze layer) once you break 1000 Ft. There is still a ground haze but you can see through it for miles above it to the surface.2. Flying at night, you can see clouds that are light colored and not black coming at you for miles even though there is a black sky?3. The clouds are dense and you can SORT OF fly through them, however they will rotate still to face your direction if you look from the outside or side view you can see a flat cloud go by. Not volumetric but more of a cloud wall.4. Like number 1 there is RAPID visibility changes, no…

Hiya-I read in "Flying the Big Jets" (a great book for big iron sim pilots) that real commercial pilots have paper company logs they use to log arrival times at waypoints during a flight along with other details (fuel remaining, current flight level, etc.).Does anyone know where I could get some blank examples of flight paperwork? Yes- this sim pilot wants to make it as real as it gets by filling out actual flight paperwork. I can the real commercial pilots reading this falling off your chairs laughing! Thanks in advance to those of you who kept a straight face -Simon

Howdy,Have recently purchased a new computer (in preperation for 2K4) and reinstalled 2K2. After a myriad of troubles (all sorted, thankfully), I now notice that only the first line of the Aircraft Description and Performance Data shows in the A/C selection menu. Anyone know of a "fix" for this? (It's liveable if it can't be, but still damned annoying that I've had so much trouble with FS after almost 2 years of trouble-free simming on a less powerful rig ... grrrrr!)Specs: Compaq Presario P4 2.66MHz, 512 Mb PC2700 DDR (333 MHz), SiS 64 Mb video card, AC97 soundcard, XP Home, DirectX 9(a).TIA.

Just started flying the new Dreamfleet 152 (having almost exclusively flown their Archer for the past few months) and it's a great plane. Recommended highly to anyone who likes to fly GA.One thing I noticed, though, is that it doesn't seem to be affected by turbulence as much as the Archer, in terms of the plane "bumping around" visually in the VC and spot views (as well as having more subtle responses to turbulence on the airspeed/vsi guages).Anyone else noticed this? I don't imagine that the real 152 gives a smoother ride than an Archer?Best,Joel

Hi - I'm so excited Its like like 2 weeks till ACOF is out for sale...tomorrow I'm going to call up my local 24 Hour Wallmart and find out if I'm there at midnight if I can get the game, not such a bad idea, eh? Anyway, getting down to business...over these last few days I've been looking at my FS2002 aircraft deciding what I want to carry over what I want to get rid of, etc. and I was thinking about what I'm going to do with my simflyers scenerey (which is great, almost perfect)...I'm looking for some advice on what I should do with it, what are you doing? Also, I read on Simflyers Website (www.simflyers.net) that they will be creating a new installer (which will b…

This may have been buried in the few dozen threads on FS2004, but I wanted it known that FS2004 can aquire the G/S from above as well as below. Don't know whether this is consistent with real practice, but the functionality that was once in FS2000 has been restored. I used it with great success, and in some light chop, on approach into KIAH last night... The sim held the G/S well even coming into the G/S clean, and having flaps and gear lowered during the final.

Just wanted to say a public thanks to Vern Opperman for his CFB Trenton scenery. Well done in my opinion. Nice level of detail and easy on the framerate (at least on my 833 P4 machine). As an Air Force pilot who has flown in and out of CYTR many times it was fun to go have a look at the aerodrome again and everything was as I remembered it. Nice touch with the A310s (or should I say CC-150s) in the hangar. Thanks again for taking the time to do it.Kevin in CYOW

Downloaded the Phoenix panels for Airbus, Boeing 777 and B744. Phantastic!! Wonder how I ever did with panels not as great as these...Are there any other panels as sophisticated - in graphic representation and in functionality - around, payware or freeware? I am especially interested in the Airbus 330 and 340, Boeing 737 and 757/767, but also some commuters like CRJ, F50 or DH8.If they come with any plane, fine with me, I can still "extract" the panel.THanks for any hintCR

I don't know what to do can anyone help me.

Never a problem until yesterday. Now my audio for the VORs and markers is gone. I moved the cockpit and navigation sliders to full right but still nothing. Any idea what happened and how to get them back appreciated. The only other "odd" thing is that my engine sound disappears when I look full left but that is not new, been doing that all along.

As a regular visitor to MelJet, I was sad, but not surprised to see that Melvin Rafi has closed his forum. Melvin is right up there with the best when it comes to designing and building aircraft for MFS. And, like Posky, it's all for free. I only posted there once and was shocked by the childish, inane responses. I wish him the very best of luck if he opens his forum again. He more than deserves a much better following. Your hard work Melvin is, I can assure you, very much appreciated.Regards,Russell.
