Does anyone own the headtracker shown on Discovery Wings tonight? If so, what are your impressions? Also, just curious...does anyone use a voice recognition program with FS2002 to command it to use pan views? If so, which one do you use? Thanks for any replies.

I have discovered what to do when I get this corruption of the panel. I won't describe what the problem looks like - those who have it/get it will know what I am talking about. There are other fixes - such as running in 32 bit mode. But I find that too expensive in the FPS department for my machine. For some reason , I get a significant knock when running in 32 bit. Facing north in the default C172 flight at Meigs, I get FPS of around 40 when in the full screen 2d panel mode and using 16 bit -- only 25 when using 32 bit.Anyway the "fix" I have discovered is this -- by dragging the sides of the panel inwards a very small amount - maybe 1/32"- the problem goes away for that…

After a reformat, I have reinstalled FS, and now it just hangs on the loadup screen. Any ideas? I had originally put my .cfg file in there just to be sure that my settings were saved, then I deleted it, but there was no change. Any ideas? Uninstall and reinstall?

Hi All,Is there a setting I have missed that controls what increments the AP changes when using the mouse wheel or mouse button? When starting the sim most GA planes will adjust in 100 ft increments, but after a short time they move in 1000 ft. This occurs with any AP gauge. When it occurs the heading bug is affected as well, one click moves the bug in much larger degrees. It seems to affect some planes more than others, hence my thought that there may be a setting in the aircraft.cfg or FS2002.cfg. Has anyone else experienced this or is it unique to my MS explorer mouse? Thanks,K

Hello,Need some help and guidance. First let me say, I am not sure I am posting in the correct forum topic, but hopefully if there is somewhere else I need to go in the AVSIM forums, one of you good folks out there will point me to the correct place. As for my questions, I would like to get into painting some aircraft. I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 loaded on my PC, and I have downloaded a bunch of different aircraft "repaint templates" from the "Ultimate Traffic" website for their UT Product. They have a section on aircraft templates which I believe come from the PAI folks. The templates are in ".psd" format for Photoshop. When I look at the "templates", they remind me of my …

I'm not sure what happened to my original post on whether or not to get a sound card, but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, I read about 5 replies to it before it went MIA, and thanks to you folks who gave me your suggestions and thoughts. Probably based on what the majority of you wrote, I'll see how it goes using the on-board system, but if I notice any problems or slow-downs (using the test method one of you suggested - Lizardo?), then I'll opt to get the card. I've got the large case for this unit, so there will be lots of room for another card. Thanks again, and if anyone else has any thoughts on on-board sound vs. the Audigy for 2004, I'd appreciate hearing it…

I have a VCD of JUST the Flight Simulator 2004 stuff from Discovery Channel. It's about 15 Minutes Long and about 150Megs File Size.Anyone want to host the file on their server?? I can upload it to you.I also have a full DVD compliant MPEG2 ready to go on DVD with Chapters of the Whole Thing as well as a FULL VCD to put on CD if anyone wants it. Let me know ideas to get it to the rest of the community who don't have Discovery Wings.

Hey everyone,This would probably be more appropriate in the File Library forum, but thought I'd post it in here as its likely to be viewed by more people. Moderators feel free to move it if need be.I've got a problem with downloading files onto my new Dell Dimension 8300. I've tried downloading some files from here in the library, and when I am taken to the download page, nothing happens! Tried the 'click here if your download doesn't start shortly' button, but still nothing!?!? Whats really strange is that I have had no problems downloading other files this week, for instance drivers etc for my new computer.I notice that there is a post in the file library forum sugg…

Maybe we can get someone here that has a vast experience with getting the SSW 310 to work. As it stands I have been able to download all 4 files. They will not extract properly. I keep getting a "bad CRC7c406f35 (should be 35ccc2b8) ". I have to clue what the refers to but if one of our FS techies could help out us annd SSW maybe SSW would be as so kind to give a free 310 to them. If someone thinks they know how to fix this error please speak up.

I'm building my own controls, It's going to be a stick flown afair, not a yoke. Now before anyone says "home cockpit builders forum" I'm just wondering do you guys know of any reasonably modeled aircraft flown with a stick that have more than one engine?

From their front page...A310 download is temporarily disabled. We're working on new ftp access software and it will be complete within next 24 hours. We apologize for inconvenience. Also we get many emails about user activation and downloads. Now you all know about downloads and please also read about user activation in A310-300 support forum.RegardsRussell Jourdain (NZL007/ZK-RHJ)

Look in Flightsim.com under FS2004 forum and you'll find it. ATI cards flicker when using the Alt key and All the kneeboards and text is unreadable. Sounds really bad and the newest drivers still don't fix it.Can someone here post their results with FS2004 maybe just some isolated [email protected]

Anyone else notice that the Directional Gyro on the new 152 "blinks" on and off in the virtual cockpit as you make a turn? Seems to go blank out and come back as you pass through certain headings or something... I saw a post on this on another forum but hadn't seen it raised here yet.Best,Joel

Right now, I have a good 19" monitor but am thinking about upgrading to a 21" or 22" monitor since their prices are very reasonable. Is anyone using a very large monitor such as these and would or would you not recommend one? What are some pros and cons with FS2002?Thanks,Robb

I am currently looking for a larger monitor (21" or greater)to run FS2002. I currently have a AOC 9Glr (19") that has only a 17.7" viewable screen. Going to a larger monitor means greater weight and area used on the computer stand yet the CRTs look to be about 1/2 of the cost of a compatible size LCD.I would be interested in seeing what large size monitors are being used for FS2002 (CRT/LCD). Does anyone have any feedback on a Sony CPD-E540 (21")? CompUSA has it for $599.97 and I have seen in on the web for $528 plus shipping.ThanksTerry

For users of the payware Alphasim C-130 package, add night lighting to your VC by entering the following in your {lights} section of the aircraft.cfg:light.3=4, 34.00, 0.00, 2.00, fx_vcfloodltmlight.4=4, 33.00, 0.00, 2.00, fx_vclighth light.5=4, 30.00, 2.00, 0.00, fx_vclighthNote: I have done a lot of modifications to the file, so your lighs may be numbered differently than mine (just check that the light.X is sequential).Good luck!B.
