I have been thinking about getting FS Panel. My question is how hard is it for someone who has never edited a panel.cfg file to say use FS Panel to put the Reality 530xp into san an aircraft like the Falcon 50? Is it fairly easy to do with this program. Thanks for any Help.

Perhaps this comes from my GA experience, where every flight is around 250 nm max (with reserves). Even if I planned a trans-continental flight, it would be in small increments over many legs. I would love to do something like this in a jet (for instance, the PMDG 737NG), but always get dismayed by the fact that such a progressive flight across the US would be highly unrealistic (other than a Boeing demonstration flight to visit many locations). Does anyone know of any realistic examples of such a Part 121 operation with small progressive legs across the nation? Even the cargo ops have hub-and-spoke operations.A weird question I know, but thanks for any answers. :) I…

Now that Pete has come out with his plans for FSUIPC, there is a lot of friction between those who think he should be compensated and those who do not.I for one feel he deserves to be compensated. I for one, don't agree with how he has handled it. First of all, let's turn the wayback time machine to the humble beginnings of FSUIPC. Yes, it was a neat piece of code, But, was hardly anything anyone would pay for. Now, fast forward to today. FSUIPC is considered required equipment on many freeware and payware modules. Pete has put in a lot of work, and many of his proponents let us know just how "valuable" that work is. But let me ask you all this. Is Pete's work va…

Hi All,There have been very heated discussions lately about the virtues and faults of the jump from FS2002 to FS2004. I have also read many wonderful things about the flight dynamics in X-Plane. How do the flight models and "feel" of flying in FS2004 compare with the latest version of X-Plane? Does X-Plane feel more accurate? Do any of you run both on your system: FS2004 for visuals, dynamic weather, and add-ons, and use X-Plane for very accurate stick and rudder feel?Does X-Plane offer anything the FS2004 doesn't?Thanks,

I was wondering, should we be able to see the strobe lights from within the VC on the Dreamfleet 152? I know they're visible on the Archer, but maybe they're on top of the wings on a 152 so not visible from inside the plane?Best,Joel

I just built a new PC. It consists of a:P4-2.8C1GB 3200DDR RAMP4P800 Asus MotherboardATI 9500 Pro VideoThe system is rock solid and stable, but I think benchmarks slower than it should in 3D Mark 2001 and 2003.I installed FS2K2 and gave her a whirl. I set it up pretty much the same way I did when I had my 1.2 Ghz Athlon and GF3Ti200 and 768MB PC133.It doesn't seem much, if any faster. When I maxxed EVERYTHING out at 1600x1200, it seemed like it was the same speed (everything except clouds, which I put to about 50)Normal?And when I say same speed, this is very subjective I realize. I would sit at the gate a CYVR (hardly and extremely detailed airport) and swing the external…

Hi!This is a queston to all the real life pilots out there : How much is flying a Cessna (or similar plane) for a , let's say 300NM trip ? How much are landing and/or airport fees, much much is a Gallon of fuel (in the U.S. and Europe) and much much do you have to spend for repairs ? If you lent the plane at at an aero-club, how much would they charge (I guess they rent them for the minute, isn't it) [and if I should win in the lottery: how much were a B747 ;-) ]Thank youJ

Just bought the new Carenado Cessna C210 and it is an absolute MUST HAVE ...... make no mistake - Dreamfleet's C177 is nice, very nice, excellent to say the least BUT (and this is a very BIG but) Carenado is fantastic! I've always liked their models and every single aircraft from their hanger is a masterpiece in looks, performance, panel and model and they did it again. No wapper dapper - no hick-ma-roll to get the thing installed - no drama to get it on a second PC without Internet access - no drama with e-mail to support to figure out why gauges do not appear because of some piracy neuroses ...... you pay, you download, you install, you enjoy!Simple as that and boy-oh-bo…

Can someone please reassure me?I have a small but expanding FS2002 freeware collection that I am hoping will work in FS2004 and what I have read so far suggests that it might BUT:1. Does the FSUIPC Version 3 announcement and the new "keys" mean that a key will be required for all existing freeware if it is to be run in FS2004? Even if free I can't see them being obtained by the authors for all existing files. The same applies to now unsupported payware I guess.2. Other than by trial & error can I tell in the AVSim library which files will meet the FS2004 compatability tests? If not is there any intention to make it obvious? I ask this as the way that FS stores files m…

Thanks for all your hard work and drive to get FSUIPC ready before or at the release of CoF. I will be happy to buy Version3 from you when it comes available. I think the sim community in itself should also reconize how you have made FS a world of addons and FS improvements. So once again thank you.Kilstorm

I consider myself an avid Flight Simmer not unlike many throughout the world who have enjoyed the progress and development of this hobby. Over the years I have enoyed using Microsoft's Flight Simulator, watching new developments in visual effects, and seeing the variety of add-ons; many of which, from freeware to payware, I have enjoyed and to this day remain in my collection -- PMDG's 737 being the latest and struggling to get it's product firmly in the air. I once thought Microsoft ought to be paying these guys to develop the aircraft while they build the core sim. It has been a good experience from the beginning and I feel has allowed me to go onto earning Private Win…

I was reading a post the other day about extending the quality of my ground textures out farther than the default. The post suggested editing these lines in my FS2002.cfg file:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=55000.50000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=10000.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=0It worked wonderful...Through doing some more testing I found that Mipmaping made FS2k2 run allot smoother which brings me to my new problem. It seems mipmaping uses the same default distance as the textures used. Everything looks fine untile I'm in a turn then I notice the ground textures blurring out at around 5 miles out from my aircraft. What/whare is the setting that I can edit that will extend the …

Is there 3rd party software that will produce a map showing your exact location on the map while you are flying a route in FS 2002?I was thinking it would be nice if it would show your aircraft moving on the map like the web sites showed the location of each commercial flight of Delta and the rest of the airlines before 9/11/01.Stationair
