Hi all,I am new to the FS community but thanks to the great help of this website and its articles/reviews, I have built quite the world. To the topic: After installing the Naji Chehabeddine's Avsim base as a scenery I went for a flight to check it out. Well, about 2 miles south of the runway, I noticed a 1km wide band (totally straight edges) of water texture that runs 65 degrees for what seems like forever(I took my Lago F16 out to try to chase down the end of it but never found it) It runs right over any terrain, no mater what elevation. I had never flown ths area of Alaska so I have no idea when it was caused. I have Denney's Alaska mesh installed.Anybody else s…

Hey,My brother has a significantly better laptop compared to the main computer I use. I tried installing FS2002 on his laptop today, all went well with instilation. However when the icon was created on the desktop it wasn't the normal one (it was a white window thing). This then resulted in FS not loading up and it very quickly opened and closed DOS. So basically I cant load up fs on his laptop, can anyone help me with this one. I would really like to know how to solve this one to see if I get a much more better performance rate on the laptop.

Hi allThis is my first post, and I would like to know if it is worth my while upgrading from FS2002 Pro to FS2004 when available i the UK?will all the aircraft in FS2002 be in FS2004, if not, is it possible to move the appropriate files over so they can be accessed in FS2004?I am only interested in FS2004 because I read the weather AI is hugely better as is the ATC functionality and there will be increased traffic with better AI, though I am sure there is software sold seperately which does all this for FS2002, IS THIS CORRECT? I don't mind bying the additional software because it would be cheaper than upgrading my AMD 700mh processor and graphics card.I appreciate sugges…

Hello simpilots, I have fs2002 pro. Can anyone tell me why the Dash 8-100 does not appear on the aircraft selection list? I downloaded a new panel and sounds that had to be put in the Dash folder, but couldn't find the plane. How do i get it to show up on the aircraft list? Or can I?thanxGeo

Hi everyone!I posted the same message in the hardware forum aswell, not sure where it belongs.Anyway, here is my problem:It seems FS2002 can't play any 4 bit audio files (wave files)!No ATC is played and the aircraft, which have 4 bit sounds, have no engine sounds! This applies for the default 737 and the Lear 45.Strange thing is, is that I have a second copy of windows on my harddisk and there all sounds are played (from the same FS2002 installation!). I tried reinstalling FS2002 but that didn't help either. Then I tried reinstalling my sound drivers, which also didn't help. I reinstalled directx9.0 and as that didn't help either, I installed a different sound card. Stil…

Dear all,Having created a flight video using FS2002, my question is - how can I convert this video (.vid extension is it?) to say a .avi video clip which can be played easily in media player or any other player? ...and where are the video clips stored in FS? I didn't manage to find the folder containing the video files.Storm

Hi everyone,I've had FS2K2 for a while, but haven't had much time to invest in it until recently when I started my PPL training. However, I'm having a number of problems that I'm hoping you all can assist me with.1) When I fly the default Cessnas, the aircraft seem almost impossible to fly in a stable manner. They jump slightly from left to right, and when I watch the A/S indicator, it will climb smoothly for a while and then jump well back by 20 knots in an instant. What's going on here? just woundering what you guys do when you are flying to maximize visability through cockpit. (hit "w", use virual cockpit, make panel smaller...etc...) because its very hard to fly visually with the huge panels

I recently got a new computer and reloaded FS2002 on it. Specs are AMD AthlonXP2000, 512mb RAM, ATI graphics using 128mb RAM (Shared - got a bit caught out by that) running Windows XP Home. An unusual thing is occuring with it now. Loading a default aircraft at Meigs, I try to rotate the external view and the frames stagger down to about 1fps and the whole thing behaves like I am trying to run it on a p133!!! I have tried this with all sliders to the left with no effect. However, add-on aircraft do not seem to cause the same problem. I loaded the DSB Typhoon at an airport last night and it flew fine. Loaded a default 744 and 1fps, unusable sim.No other programs are…

I remember the good ol' days when I was a little boy and playing the "green screen" flight sim. IT WAS GREAT...a timeless classic. I also remember when my father purchased FS5 for me....I was soooo excited. Hi there,I have just installed the whole new PAI lot into FS2004, but i have one thing my aircraft that are coming on arrival, they always go missed during approach????????????????????????I have go no idea runways are cleare they seem to come in at a good angle and speed but they jsut won't land (go-around).Many thanks,L.Jim

Hi folksJust a quick question on what AI package people would recommend from the two above. I have seen a number of posts recommending Ultimate Traffic but I can't seem to find it on CD anywhare (just a download which I don't want). I'm not bothered about detail to the nth degree just a simple to use, well supported program which adds life to the flying environment and comes as a proper boxed product. If you go to pre-order FS2004 on the Best Buy website, their product description indicates that it is single player only, with no multiplayer capability.Is this true?I hadn't seen much written about multiplayer functionality, whether it was improved or not. I'd assumed that there were no major upgrades there, but didn't expect it to be removed.I hope the Best Buy site is wrong and that this isn't true.Can anyone out there (who knows) please clarify?Thanks,Robb
