After installing FS9 and getting everything running nicely ,I decided to fly online using Squawkbox/RogerWillco etc.I d/l the latest FSUIPC(unregistered) to allow SB Relay to work.Thats when I had a problem ,(mentioned and sorted in an earlier post)which turned out to be down to the registering of SBrelay within FSUIPC using the wrong info(since changed in the SBrelay instructions). In addition to the main problem(lack of ATC Directory listings in SB)the other thing that this caused was that when a flight plan was filed via SB, viewing the FP on Servinfo always gave the aircraft's starting position as several hundred mile west of Accra out in the Atlantic and consequen…

I never noticed this in 2002, but in 2004, in the default 737, as I fly my AP adjusts the rudder trim gradually to the left so that, by the time I need to descend, the trim is well off to the left. Under certain circumstances that may be fine, but it happens all the time, always to the left, regardless of location, altitude, weather, etc. Any thoughts on what's up?Boyd Barker, Senior Command CaptainDirector of Special Projects & KBOS Hub ManagerWestWind Airlines

I use a 2.0 GHz Pentium IV - PC and 768MB DDR-RAM but have a rather strange problem with FS2004. I get good frame-rates most of the time - between 17-20 fps (locked at 20 fps) even when flying in clouds, flying over detailed scenery like London or taxiing at airports. HOWEVER if I touch down after a flight that was longer than a few minutes, FS2004 more or less freezes completely (about 1 frame per 30 seconds/or even MINUTE). Then it even becomes hard to select an item from the menu because everything is almost frozen completely. If I manage to take off again - inspite of this condition - the moment the plane is in the air again (and if it is only a foot above the runway…

Hi,Can't steer the darn thing, let alone flt it. Tried asymmetric power and brakes, and a combo of both. Any ideas. I thought I could fly a tail dragger until this one came along. Beta testers must have looked the other way on this one. Big Smile.Layabout

Hello everyone. Newbie here. I have a question and hope this is the right forum. I recently installed 2k2 on my new system. 512MB of Corsair XMS memory, Asus A7n8xdlx board and athlon XP 2500 cpu. Nvidia PCI MX 420 64 mb card...etc.Anyway, after last night's installation, I eagerly went to test it out with my new system, and when I clicked on the icon, I got the miniaturized black box on the screen and an hourglass - the system locked up on me. When I ctrl-alt-delete, the close box says "not responding." I have direct x 8.0 I believe - whatever the default direct x is when you install 2k2. Any suggestions on what I can try? It does start up in safe mode, so I have reason …

hii'd like to know what other add on planes (programs) there are, that provide a full working FMC. i know PSS' A3XX, 777 and 747 as well as Dreamfleet's 737-400 and Wilco's 767 PIC.Are there any more? And where can I purchase them? After flying only with well designed and programmed aircraft with realistic flight management, VOR to VOR navigation doesn't satisfy me anymore...:-)thnx, stu

Residents of various cities around the FS globe are in shock, as new electric plants are built in the backyards of multi-million dollar communities!A long time FS resident states, "I can't believe MS did this to us. Everything was so much better in FS2002 then they had to go and build all this! I remember back in the days of FS4 when we had cars, what happened to those? What is the FS world coming to??"See pic below in one instance of ticked off resident!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30024.jpgOkay now this is all in fun! Really though- FS 2004 is EXCELLENT! Thank you to Chris Willis/FSW Group (for new cloud textures) and Bart Dylkiewicz for the resized autogen textur…

'From the pace things are moving with the Gold, I think we will be 100% before you get your copies of FS2004. Things are moving that fast!'I read this sometime ago on another forum, posted from the developer. Since I am not a forum member there I was wondering if any users here know anything more about this?? I reviewed their entire site but am still unable to glean any info from it concerning a possible release date. 5 days? 5 weeks? 5 months?just curious if you have heard anything I have not. I am looking for to the Ultimate Traffic package for FS2k4.

I have just purchased the CH Pro Rudders USB and FS 2004.I have two problems with itFirst there is a problem releasing the brakes. It seems thepedals somehow controls them. They can be applied if I just touch the rudder pedals. But I havn't been able to release them with the pedals.I can have the BRAKE text in the lower left corner go out if I first press space and then'.' sometimes the text says differential brake. I can't release the brakes with the joystick any more in spite of having release/apply brake attached to a buttonSecond it is very difficult to steer the aircraft with the rudders, especially on the ground. It seems the controls overreact.Let me also state that…

I think this is a fairly definitive test of the results of Chris Willis' cloud fps fix for FS9.First, here's a screenshot with the original MS textuures. This is sitting on runway 34R at KSEA, with real-world weather downloaded. I am running the sim at 1600x1200 (these are scaled down, obviously) with 4xAA and 4xAF, and the cloud sliders at 40 miles visibility, 100% 3d clouds, and full coverage. Most other slides are 3/4-full, except for autogen, which is set to normal. The red number in the corner is the FRAPS result with a 10 second benchmark. 16 fps on average (range was fairly stable at about 15-17).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30028.jpgI exited FS9, copied over…

  16. I was saddened to see thaty the #4 CD is required to run FS9. One must either keek the CD in all the time or take achance of scratching or otherwise making CD un-useable. Will we get a patch or fix for this SOON?

I'm getting all sorts of blue "static" on screen at all resolutions higher than 1024x768 in fs9. It's like lines and dots of blue (especially noticeable at night).A few details:Frame rates are actually higher at 1600x1200, so I would love to run at this resolution, except for the blue flickering dots.I have tried every combination of aa & af; all seem to produce the same "static".It happens both in windowed and full screen mode.It dissappears entirely at 1024 x 768.I am using the latest drivers from ATI's site. (Catalyst 3.6 or something like that 6.14.10....)Different Mip map levels don't affect it. It happens in all view modes (vc, panel, outside views).AA is unc…

Does Schiphol have 5 or 6 runways? I was at my cousins today flying with his copy of FS2004 at Schiphol and I only counted 5 runways. I thought Schiphol had 6 runways? Did Microsoft foget the 6th runway at EHAM in FS2004? Or was I just missing something?

Hello to all;Can you tell me why I have to pay to get FS_METEO V6.0 if I can get Getweather v3.0 from BEARSOFT for free. Is there a difference in the way these two programs handle the weather and the interaction with FS2004.Thank you for your help.

Its the notorious "floating scenery" problem, but before you jump to conclusions listen to this quick tail, cause it used to work!I installed Eddie Denny's alaska scenery into the Addon directory. Flew around for awhile, quit fs2002. Added Gray's trees_v3 to the correct places. Flew around for awhile, and quit FS2002. Installed Belk's Gold Mine Airports to their own directory (not add on), and flew to, and landed on each one. They were all great!I then got curious, so I went to the library, and deactivated Denny's Mesh, and Belk's airports. Flew around. Added Denny's mesh, flew around, then activated Belk's airports, and flew around. Only now .. all his scenery is…
