Hi,for all of you here who are having the same problem I have with a NO 2D panels/gauges view in FS2004 with Windows 98/ME and an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra video card, I just wanted to advise that today August 13 2003 Nvidia has released the new OFFICIAL drivers Version 45.23 that should solve this problem. These drivers are available also for Windows 2000 and XP.You can download them from the Nvidia website at www.nvidia.com Regards,Marco

I have 2004 installed in my comp. and get average 25 fps and am very happy. This question is really for a friend of mine. He put in 2004 in his comp and gets 5-12 fps. Basically our computers are about the same 1.5 gig -2.0 gig. We both have 512 memory and pentium 4 processor. The one difference is that I have a Nvidia geforce 2 mx 100/200 card and he has a rage ati. Does anyone think that the rage card is not a good one to have? I can't think of any other reason for the diff in frame rates but I am not computer knowledgeable either. Would like opinions. Don

Hi,I set my visibility to 20 miles in global weather, as I personally think the haze and such looks realistic (at least for flying over humid south Florida). But it seems that you can't set cloud draw distance to less than 30 miles in the display/weather settings slider. Thus my CPU is wasting effort to draw clouds 10 miles further out than I can see.So I was wondering, is there a way to get into a .cfg line or something to limit cloud draw distance to something less than the 30 miles the slider only goes to?Best,Joel

Hello,I'm using FS2004 and have everything set up so it is working reasonably well. However, I'm having a problem with brakes. I'm using the CH Pro Flight Yoke and Pro pedals USB. After flying and landing, the brakes stay on and can't be released by the pedals or pressing ".". There is a message in the lower left corner of the screen that says "Brakes" or "Differential Brakes". Moving the brakes on the pedals does not release them nor do any of the release brake commands release them. In other words, I'm stuck on the runway and can't take off or taxi to the gate because the breaks are stuck on.My system specs:Asus MB with Via Chipset(Latest Hyperion Drivers installed)AMD …

I keep running into new problems w/ FS9. Perhaps some or all of these will be addressed in a patch.1. When Loading up FS9 the screen flickers horribly (Radeon 9700 pro). Flickering continues to occur while setting up (changing screen menus) flights etc.2. Land mass flickers and displays brown boxes when changing views then settles down. Setting the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=450 helped a little.3. Auto open ATC window when messages are sent to you does not function properly unless show text box is also selected. Selecting the text box then displays "all" ATC messages to all a/c.4. Tower icon in map view does not show up at destination airport. One must type in the corrids to …

Ok, this one has probably been asked a million times but ...Whats the ini/setting to shut this off? I don't need to be told the brakes are on, thats why we have pretty levers and such.

I am wondering if anyone else is finding this. I am flying the Curtis Jenny and the Vickers Vimy. The Jenny has a ceiling of 11,000 and the Vimy a ceiling of 8,000.For both planes, the maximum altitude that I can climb to is between 1,000-1,500. At those altitudes, the planes stop climbing even with the yolk all the way back, and eventually just stall. This seems really unrealistic and takes away from flying these planes. They look fabulous though. I have not flown the othe historical planes to see if there are any problems with their flight models. Seems like Microsoft should have caught these seeming problems though, unless I am doing something wrong. No problem…

Hi allI have an old GeForce 2 64Mb card which surprisingly runs FS9 quite well, but one thing i cant stand is looking at beautiful mountains in the distance to find them jumping around and moving about, very off putting!Ive searched the forums, and cannot find a way to fix this, I was wondering if anyone knew a solution?Richard

At an extra cost of a couple hundred dollars, do you all think 2GB of RAM is overkill or will 1GB suffice for use in FS9? The machine I am getting has a 3.2P4 and 128MB Radeon 9800Pro card. I only use 1 pc/monitor so I must run multiple programs in the backgroundf when flying online/using real world wx via Activesky/using AIBridge/Flight Deck conpanion, etc...Thanks.

Here's my review of FS2004:Review System:Pentium 4 2.4GHz256 MB DDR RAM-8mb shared for Intel Extreme GraphicsIntel Extreme Graphics (8mb)Windows 98SEPrice Paid A$99.951. InstallationMy installation of FS2004 was quick and during the install, there was time to install Adobe Reader 6.0,DX 9.0a,WMP9. Quite easy to install-fewer steps in the install process.2. Starting up:Starting Flight Simulator 2004 was quite speedy, and when the main screen opens, I chose the what's new video-John and Martha King are funny, and they explain the new features in simple language.3. Flights:The historical flights are steady paced, some can take many hours to complete, while the modern flights…

Hello Everyone,I have a MS Precision 2 joystick that no matter what I try, I am unable to use the HAT. I went into the view settings and assigned the hat to a view. When I went to assign a different view, the HAT assignment went on the new selection and removed itself from the prior assignment. Is there something I can do to get the HAT to work? It acts the same in the normal view, and the virtual view. I am running XP as well. Please let me know what to do, I really miss not being able to look out the windows with my joystick

Ok, whenever i install a airport with afcad (for AI traffic). My fs2002 with load everything (on the splash screen) then it loads "Building Indexes for facility files" it gets to 9% and crashes. At first i couldn't figure out why, still not sure, but then I ran a check with my afcad to check my bgl files and my afcad told me i have some "bgl" files that have abnormal checksums. can anyone provide me with the following files? Folks; Here's a few nuggets on converting FS02 FDE profiles (airfile+aircraft.cfg) to FS2004/ACoF: FS2004 ignores several potentially important parameters that were used by FS2002 FDE designers to parameterize aircraft. Among them are wing_incidence, wing_twist, Body AoA at min drag, and induced_drag_constant. I've been hip deep in the FS2004 model the last week, and believe the following is a good means of converting your FS2002 FDEs over to FS2004 so they'll fly the same way. FS2004 ignores wing angle of incidence, although it reads it from both the airfile and aircraft.cfg. This is of most consequence in aircraft that have significant "net" AoIs of perhaps 0.5 de…

Not anymore. I have a low powered system by todays standards. Windows ME, 700 mhz Pent III, 256 MB, nVida 440 MX 64 MB, at 800x600x32 res. When I installed FS9 I couldn't use the nice new stuff, no 3D clouds because my fps went through the floor, the horizon shimmered, the hills didn't have a 3D look to them, the airplanes didn't look as good as in my FS2002.The only thing I liked were the new "old" planes. I was starting to think that I would be spending my time back in 2002 and wondering if I could move the new "old" airplanes there. I have an nVida MX video card, I think they sold a lot of them. I had installed the gf4mxdsp.zip (display cfg) back in my FS2002. The repl…
