Recently when I start FS (still 2k2), it often loads my browser and tries to dial out. If I allow it, my firewall says it is trying to connect to crl.microsoft.com. I can't start FS unless I go through this routine, which is pretty annoying. Can anybody explain why this should have started recently? I think it is something to do with 'certificates', but why does this happen with just FS?. I am up-to-date with antivirus.Thanks in advance for any ideasDavidWin98SE, Amd1.4, 256Mb

Does anyone have a problem with extreme haze or fog after a few hundred feet or when getting close to clouds? This happens with the default downloaded weather. When I take off visibility is great and the clouds well established and for some reason I am thown into a thick layer of haze or fog. I am not in a cloud formation but directly underneath. When I went to Munich I noticed some textures were missing (see attachment) It's all blanc on some places. It happens with a lot of airports in the German airports series. (are there some textures missing?)I have had it working fine once, but now I can't find what's causing this. I've tried switching around in the scenery library, but with no result.Can anyone help me out?Christiaan

Is anyone using onboard AC97 audio, and if so, does it work OK with FS2004?Mine works OK except with ATC/ATIS which is extremely faint and barely audible.RegardsDave

Having an issue with FS9 in that it will not shut down without generating an unknown error message and attempting to re-start. This message is generated about a minute after the program "appears" to have shut down. Overall FS2004 is a great improvement over 2002 even if no simulator shattering new features were added. In FS2002 the frame rates would take a sizeable hit with the autogen scenery turned up and when ever there were too many AI aircraft on screen. This no longer happens. I just purchased an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 video card with 250 MB memory and I get great frame rates (in the 30s) even with many of the graphics turned up. VFR flying is a pure thrill with a single exception. The 3D clouds take the frame rates down to single digits whenever they are on screen. I turned off AA within FS2004 and messed with all the sliders but the best I can get is about 12-14 FPS with fe…

Hello,There is a small error in the text file that should be added to the aircraft.cfg file that causes my Olympic Airways repaint not to show up, or to show up with the default PMDG colours.I simply forgot to change the texture line.So, to correct this, open the 'add_to_aircraft_cfg.txt' file and replace the 'texture=' with 'texture=oal'or if you have already installed it :Do the same replace in the aircraft.cfg file of the PMDG 737-700 aircraft but only for the entries that concern the Olympic Airways repaint.I apologize for the inconvinience caused.George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

Is there a way to disable the VC on rear quarter views? I love to see the engines and wings on these views but with VC all I can see is the seat... :-(On planes with static images is easy, just panel.cfg editing is necessary, but with default FS9 planes I just can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers (45.23) which the website says are WHQL certified. Installation went fine... then customary reboot. Reboot took a while, but nothing vexing. Once desktop loads, blue screen... graphics adapter is stuck in an infinite loop. Great!Reboot Windows XP Pro in safe mode, uninstall driver and re-install the old one. Things are better now, but still a little unstable. Anyone else observe this? When will Atweaker and RivaTuner be updated to handle the new drivers?

Here's a weird one I hope someone can help me with. Starting my flight at Airlake, MN (KLVN), I bring up the weather dialog and tell it to pull down real-word every 15. Checking the map, I can see two reporting stations in the near vicinity. One is at the airport itself, and the other is pretty close to it. I can see the pop up weather info and such, and so far everything is fine. The problem is that once I'm in the cockpit, I can't tune in any sort of weather report from Airlake. I've checked several charts, and even the airport info in FS is correct, but I can't tune the freq. I think the number is too low if I remember correctly. I can get the others okay, but …

When I turn the GPS on- everything turns into molasses and I have to end flight and then continue to get everything smooth again. This is even after I close the GPS window. Do you think I need more processor power, video card power or ram? In other words is this a memory issue. A strange problem just arose after two weeks of using FS2004. The opening menu screens where you select your flight, set your preferences, etc. are now all in italics. Previously, only the "change" buttons were in italics I believe. This makes it very hard to read. I made no video card or driver changes. I tried removing my fs9.cfg and letting the program generate a new one, but it didn't help. Has anyone else encountered this problem or any ideas about how to fix it? Thanks.

According to my dx diagnostics this cpl is a debug version and will run slower than the non-debug cpl. This may be causing some stutters and lowered performance.Anyone else have notice this, or did I get a bum dx 9.0bDave

Well I messed things up now.I had FS9 working sweet on my P3-800 so what do I do?Went out and upgraded to a P4-2.4G on an Asus p4s8x-x with 512 DDRI did have the thing working OK for a little while ubtil... God knows what i did, but my BIOS does seem set up right for AGP...Now my FX5200 128 Meg only goes into AGP (PCI) Mode which does not work well for FS9, I get the BLACK screen of death, not even blue.I set the BIOS to select AGP VGA card, to 8X AGP at 128M apartureNOTAany suggestions ?

Well I finally got myself a copy of COF and am not to sure about the quality. Firstly, the game was purchased from Asia by a friend on holidays and I think I may have a less than legal copy of the game. By that I mean I might have the beta copy or some pre release version. I think this because the graphics are no where near what they look like in other photos I have seen and I am running them at near highest quality. They are very blocky and crappy looking. the build version I have is build 30612.02.Did I get ripped off or is something else the problem.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone have this working in FS2004? I need it for my VA. For me, it doesnt show up at all in the aircraft menu.

Pasted from AOPA MailThe FAA, building on an action that took place last spring, has ordered the grounding of all 173 Learjet 45 corporate jets flying under U.S. registration. I seem to get better frame rate when using the Virtual cockpit in most planes then the 2D panel. I would think the VC would take more computer resources. Whatsup with that?
