Has anyone been able to fix the RealAir 172 flight model so that it is not so sluggish in responding to the elevator in FS9? It flew brilliantly under FS2002. Does anyone have a 172 flight model that feels accurate under FS9?Thanks,Michael

To anyone this might help...I thought I'd share an interesting find. I have been suffering from the same ATI flashing problem as everyone else whenever switching from window/full mode or just operating the menu (ALT) from full screen. I had ALMOST resigned to just running in windowed when I decided to revisit my BIOS settings after reading a really cool online guide...one I hadn't used before (and I spend a LOT of time tweaking and tuning). The link is www.rojakpot.com - click on the BIOS guide 7.7. After going through this guide I only changed 2 settings - first I ENABLED "Delayed Transaction" - it was previously defaulted to disabled. Second, I increased my PCI Lat…

Since most of my flights tend to be under an hour long, I need to reduce the fuel load. So what is the proper way of reducing fuel in the planes with 3 tanks?A. Drain the wing tanks first, then the center tank?B. Drain the center tank first, then the wings?C. Drain all tanks equally? Thanks, Kenny B

People!I have been asked by Simon Haynes (of yRoute fame!) to inform everybody that he is dedicating this evening to developing yRoute to work with FS2004 & TTools v201 by Lee Swordby.(Simon hasn't got an AVSIM account at the moment hence this message)Traveller.

My brother just scanned for virus (does it at least once month) and found this in his download folder. This is the full file name-"flight.simulator.2002.pro.10.us.backupcd.zip". Mcafee says it's the win95cih virus.Doesn't remember dl'ing it, and a name that long would be hard to forget. Since cih doesn't work in win2k, we opened it to see if it really is a zip file, it was. Only contents was fs2002.exe. Same size as original. No, we didn't try running that file.backupcd, and a copy of fs2002.exe sounds like a no-cd crack, but you don't need the cd for 2002, so need for a crack?Any one else seen it, it or have any idea where it may have come from?Really the cih virus,…

Hi, Theses files are only created to replace the original Fs2004 default texture for much better performance on clouds for lower mid and high system with all variation and many layers, fix the horizon at sunset and a darker night lights environment. These files do not meat FSW standard quality; they are only created to temporary fix some performance on clouds and fix.- You will notice better performance with clouds using detailed clouds even with many layers on lower mid and high system, but the clouds quality is reduced for better performance, the stratus are not affected in quality, still 10x better then the simple clouds option in fs2004. - Recommended to use the Ms…

Was playing around with the vintage aircraft and noticed the Spirit of St. Louis with do 360's in mid flight! Is that a quirk in my setup or can you do the same? HAHA

Just a thought:Would it be wise to split this forum into a community-served technical support forum and a general discussion forum? I find that numerous posts quickly fall to page 3 or 4 in just a few hours which might be of interest to many folks, but who never browse that deep into the messages. Moving some of the "technical issues" to their own forum might also give those people more of a chance to get assistance from someone who is in a helpful frame of mind - not always that case in this forum.Like I said, just a thought.sg

When I was a teen-ager a friend of my family took me to visit the simulator squadron at our current military station at the time. (Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque NM). The simulator he toured me through was a HH-53 (Super Jolly Green Giant) type, and took 2 very large computer floors (thousands of square feet) of large, hot computers to keep the thing running. After all, it had several airfields to choose from, and used night time graphics 100% of the time (a way of making visuals more performance friendly). This simulator's budget had to be in the millions, if not 100's of millions over its lifetime. In fact time spent in the simulator was so precious, that I was only able…

Hello, I cannot get fs9 to run smooth, so I've been flying fs2002 again. I love the Bravo in fs9 and my version of Fs2002 doesn't have this aircraft. Question-how does the Mooney in Fs2002 pro version compare to the fs9 version. Are the virtual cockpits similiar? I wish their was a way to move aircraft from fs9 back to fs2002. It would be a waste of money to buy the pro edition just for this aircraft. Thanks,Todd

Here is a link to a website that has a "no-cd" exe flie for FS2004.It worked for me, but be sure to backup your fs9.exe file before using the no-cd one, just in case.Scott :-)ATP/CFII - KCOS, in the real avaition world.

I use fs2000 on my laptop which i have no joystick for, in fs98 there was a mini "yoke" panel which was very useful for flying with a mouse.is there any way of getting this in fs2000?also i've seen so many posts complaining about fs2004 being to slow and not frame rate friendly, to those people just spare a tought for those of us who are still useing pre atc flight sims and anything up to 8fps is a blessing to.with an 5fps average i can still fly along quite well.granted you've spent the money on a computer to handle these sims but come on anything above 15fps we cant see anyway!!!Dara

My system is a Pentium 4,1.5 and and "old" GeForce 2 and FS2004 is running very smoothly, in fact more smoothly than FS2002.Of course I get only 12 to 18 fps but the main thing is that it's smooooooth! No stutters... just a nice ride!!! I will upgrade my card one day but for now I'm an happy simmer. :-)

Hi,A couple of days ago I asked this but still haven't received any answers, so I give it another try hoping for better luck this time :-)My problem is that the taxi lights don't lit up the runway when sitting in the cockpit but the landing lights do. The aircraft I'm flying is MelJet's 777-200ER which is built in GMax, so it should work? The taxi lights do lit up the runway when looking from outside (spot view) but not when sitting in the cockpit. I've noticed that the default 777 in FS9 have both working landing and taxi lights, so I know it can be done and since the landing lights work as supposed the functionality seem to be in the aircraft model? If I just knew how to…

I went and did a flight in 2K2 tonight to remind myself what sharp antialiased textures look like with smooth frame rates. I am currently baffled as to why I cant run 2K4 smoothly for any length of time. I have sliders backed way off and not using AA at all and I still see stutter and pretty large frame rate fluctiation even with Chris's clouds and some other texture fixes. I have tried a lot of stuff and it seems something here is causing a huge bottleneck but I cant figure out what it is. What is bugging me is the fact that i cant even approach similar settings to 2K2 with fs9 as a lot of other folks are saying they can.It will run pretty well most of the time, but i ge…

Hello to all,a quick warning to all GMax users, as of today, installing the security hotfix from MS number 823980, that blocks the exploit on the TCP port 135, makes GMax and 3DS Max totally unusable, corrupting .gmax and .max files, as explained here, on Discreet website:http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/gmax_alert.htmlit seems MS and Discreet are working on a fix for this, but in the meantime, Discreet suggest not installing the fix.I verified this, if you install the fix, and just create an object in Gmax ( even a simple box ), and save it in a new file, you will not be able to load it back, and Gmax will say the file is corrupted, as all your previous Gmax files a…

Returning to the subject---Try flying from Rockford ,Illinois,When you start(from the main ramp) select the overhead view and take a look at the positioning of the two road bridges over the rivers!!! I'd hate to have to drive over them!Dave

Much as I enjoy FS2004, I simply don't have the time to really get into it. Having mastered the basics of takeoff, flight and landing I tend to go for the odd short hop. I have no ideas about navigation or IFR yet, so a quick glance at the map is often called for. I took a nice scenic dusk flight in Norway, with weather set to cold fronts. It really was quite spectacular. As I turned into a valley to find my landing strip, I was greeted by a sea of mist. This was totally unexpected, but quite realistic I imagine. Time to learn about IFR approaches!

Flying the default FS2004's 737-400 as well as the Lear 45, I was on my final approach for a 9L landing at KATL. I had the ILS frequency locked in as well as the heading and course set for 91 degrees. I had the autopilot engaged as well as the APPR engaged. I was under the impression from different versions that the ALT also had to be engaged for a proper autoland. However I have noticed that when I capture the glideslope, the plance doesn't decend, but maintains the ALT set.Is this a flaw or should I disengage the ALT HOLD?Brent Hebert
