Is there a file that I can update to add real airline names to the airline dropdown?Or is there a file that contains all airline names that I can download?Barry

Just got an email from Elite after inquiring when the throttle quadrant drivers woudl be updated for 2004. I've noticed that when I move panels to either my second or third monitor, they are fine in 2D. The minute I change back to 3D, panel textures become blurred, and some lighting is lost. (Both# 2 and #3 monitors are LCD and running at same res as the primary, which is a CRT). Is there ANY way to make panels on secondary monitors stay in 2D while the main monitor goes back to 3D OR any way to stop the panel blurries? (One of the extra monitors is run by a second video card, the other is run of my GeForce 5900 DVI port.Both monitors have the same issues.)Any ideas? Thanks,Mark

I was wondering of anyone knows whether there is a simple freeware Flight planner available that I can use for FS9 while we wait for the FSNavigator update.Perhaps a standalone planner which will export flight plans to Flight Sim format... or something? Please help me since the instrument checkride is driving mecrazy .I don't seem to be able to enter the holding pattern correctly .I now that I do the right circuit ,i.e.the 140 radial means a holdingpattern where one does the inbound leg with heading 320 ,turns right over the VOR and flies the outbound leg at hdg 140 .What doesn't work out for my bloody virtual examiner (god how I hateher voice by now!@#^%$#@@)is my parallel entry in the pattern .I cross the VOR normally at hdg 155 turn left to 140 for 1 minute andthen proceed to turn left to 280 to intercept the 320 inbound .For the life of me I don't know why in this turn I keep hearing thatI didn't pass the checkride w…

I was playing FS2K4 and thought I'd save a few flights, so I saved quite a few really nice ones.Several locations, several different aircraft suited to those locations.When I select one of my saved flights, and click "Ok", the sim seems to go to the last used flight automatically!! I don't seem to be able to get back into those saved flights!!!!!Has anybody else had this problem and could you please let me know how to fix it!Thanks.James

I have been trying to find a way to get Sectional Aeronautical charts for the US cheap. They make flying a whole lot more fun. It seems a bit too easy to use GPS. It more enjoyable to be looking at the terrain, lakes, roads, cities, etc. in FS and then look at a map and figure out where you are. Then you can see lake and city names, and get somewhat familiar with the area.I don't work for this company, but I just downloaded a demo of Maptech's AeroSims. I put it on my PC and flew around the Boston area. It was very cool seeing everything in the FS world correspond to real life. I think that I am going to buy the software. I have previously supported this group in the past, but after the following exchange, that has come to an end. I had problems migrating the FSD Seneca and Cheyenne from 2K2 to FS9 using their migration tool. I noticed on their help forums that there was an alternate method of doing so, other than using it. I then sent the following e-mail to Steve Small:Hi Steve,After reading the support forum, I believe that I may need an alternate method of migrating both the Cheyenne, and the Seneca, over to FS9. This isn't a big deal because I rarely fly the at night but I flew a short VFR flight in the Cub today. Not that the cub has IFR options. I flew in an area where I live so I know where the landmarks are fairly well. Something I noticed was that the red flashing lights on the tops of tall antenna towers are very dim even when flying a few hundred feet above them. The real lights can be seem several miles away on the ground.Anyone know of a way to brighten them up just a bit?The rotating airport beacons, and two white strobes at the end of some (small) runways can be seem for several miles. I was wondering if the file sna2002.zip would work with fs2004. I would like to make this airport realistic. Has anyone tried it yet?

In FS2002 (especially when flying VFR), I use the socalled Minipanel a lot.You can see this Minipanel by using the "W" key in 2D Cockpit mode, which toggles between MainPanel-Minipanel-PanelOff.As far as I knew, this Minipanel could only be defined generically (that is: per catagory of aircraft, not per individual aircraft), as specified in file FS2002AircraftDefaultPanelpanel.cfg.However, by looking at several panel.cfg files in FS2004, I noticed that the Minipanel can also be defined per aircraft, in the panel.cfg of that aircraft.Example from the panel.cfg file of the default B747:[Window06]position=7size_mm=350,200child_3d=1background_color=0,0,0ident=MINIPANELgauge00…

One of the bits of advice I've been giving related to FS2004--stay away from the larger, detailed cities and airports if you have a slower system.But looking at some of the threads related to performance, I feel it important to note that I've seen performance suffer as I approach even minor airports. Luckily, I don't see pauses. But performance falls off even if I set the scenery density (and thus airport complexity) lower than that in FS2002.Not to be defeated, I tried an experiment--I aliased all my FS2002 airports into FS2004 and excluded the FS2004 airports. If I may add a little thing to IF you catch it and are using Windows XP.Since the worm will start a countdown and shut down computer shortly after when using internet, some people might have difficulty downloading the patch above.The solution (if using WinXP)The worm will be disabled from using the above named ports (or working at all) if you enable the Internet Connection Firewall (under the properties of you're dial-up/broadband connection). Of course any other regular 3rd party firewall will allow for this as well :)You are then able to use the internet without the worm shutting everything down and you can download the patch/removal tool from the link above.

Hello, I've started tinkering a bit with the maximum visible range slider and found out that it creates a very ugly effect with textures, while allowing a much better representation of long range mountains.It is most noticeable at night, I tweaked the FS9.cfg terrain_radius thing and setted "allow extended textures" with "medium water effects" and "Land only" terrain detail though setting both "Land & Water" doesn't change a thing, running on a FX5200 at 1024x768 with DX9.0b and 44.03 NVIDIA drivers.I found out searching this forum that FS2002 had the same issue and it seems so this same problem came to FS2004, has someone found out a workaround or is there no way to …

I have been facinated by folks who claim they can't get above 6 FPS on their super whamadyne Pentium 3.2 Gigaherz, while folks near product minumums say it works BETTER? What was that about? Hi all...I've downloaded Marcel Kuhnt's BN-2A Islander from here, but when I go to fly it (in FS2004) it's missing some gauges, most specifically the airspeed indicator. There's a blank spot in the panel where the gauge should be.Looking at the panel.cfg file, I note this line:gauge06=BN!Speedgauge, 228,377,92Should there be a file called "speedgauge" or "BN.cab" in the download? Hello,How would it compare to use a 22' TV with my graphics card, to a 17' monitor. I think TV and Monitor do not have the same display technology ; pixels vs lines or something.
