For those who remember Jon's great FSDS 2 BAE-146 for FS2002, it looks like he's been busy updating that...and other aircraft. Looks like his ATR 72 is all new, and he has new Metroliners as well... If you want to visit his site, here's a link:http://www.arnz.myhost.co.nz/-John

Sorry for posting this here, but since the Ready for Puashback forum is having problems staying online, I was wondering if there are any RFP users here who have downloaded the patch for FS2004 compatability? If so, there was a readme file that came with the patch, but Icannot open this file as it crashes m system. Can someone send me a converted file either in .txt or .pdf format please? Thanks!

Hi to anyone how knows about the parameters in the .air & .cfg files.I'm fiddling around with an air file, to alter the way in which the flaps affect the nose down pitch of a plane when flaps are deployed & the amount of lift that is generated. I think i've found the params that control the amount of lift, however I'm stumped to know which params to edit in the .air file that controls the amount of DOWN pitch the aircraft experiences when a notch of flaps is extended.Basically what do i edit so that i can control the amount of nose pitch downwards when i extend flaps.... even as far as NO pitch change at all, just an increase in lift? Some please help with an ans…

I removed an airplane I no longer wanted (CC144) from my FS2004. Now when I go into FS2004, I get a message that Initialization failed for CC144, and FS has to shut down. In other words, I no longer can get into my FS. I have done a search and removed any file with reference to CC144, emptied my recycle bin, etc., no dice. How can I rid myself of this pesky message? It is unfortunate but Microsoft apparently does not appear to see the trauma that is created with the methodology they employ for the release of a home entertainment product such as Flight Simulator. Many people have a significant amount of time invested in the Flight Simulator either in the development of addon functions or simply enjoying the experience. Microsoft has once again chosen, as they have done in past releases, to ingore this segment of their customer base. Why would they do such a thing. Well, what does it cost Microsoft to release an upgraded product to an existing set of sophisticated customers versus simply placing it "on the shelf". We decry that Microsof…

Yes, I know there was a post a couple of days ago asking for a review of the LA megascenery (@ www.megascenery.com BTW), but still no answers. Has anyone tried it yet? The suspence is killing me. How does it look? Autogen? Does it slow the frame rates down? How does it look at low altitudes? Worth the cost? Please let us know. Thanks,Sydneyborn :D

After using this card all day today I love it!!! Im curious to know if others are seeing something that I am. When I go to spot view, it seems my panning is pretty jerky unless I go 360 degrees around the aircraft, then its smooth as long as I stay in that view. Happens with any aircraft, no big deal really, but I would think its some kind of driver issue. I also see what i consider to be long load times when switching views in the 2D pits. Its not a big deal either but it takes just a moment for the views to switch, not used to that. Sometimes I get a flicker of wierd texture or an old artifact for a split second then everything is fine. Running in windowed mode to avoid…

A nice little detail in FS2004 is the addition of smoke to smoke stacks. But... IMHO the 'size' of the smoke is a bit small. Is there a way to 'enlarge' the smoke, so that it is better visible from a distance? It must be somewhere in one of the effect files, can an effect-guru help me out? Thanks!Alex [p]

I was finally set straight about why (and only under some video cards) aircraft glass reflections seem to be missing from FS2004. The link which follows details the technical steps, and has a couple of screenshots of the results. The bad news is a/c designers that still want to support FS2002 may have to release "FS2002 specific" texture sets, as tweaks applied to get glass reflections in FS2004 go a bit over the top in FS2002. I was a bit ahead of the game, since I never set my glass to be 100 pct. transparent.... More in the thread that follows...Here's the link:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=12890&page=

Hi!I've got a real problem. While trying different display-resolutions at one of this resolutions my monitor said "Out of Range". So I am not able to solve this problem because I can't see the menu anymore. Is there some sollution to solve this problem? Maybe its possible to change some *.cfg or so.Otherwise I have to install FS2004 a second time only because of a bad resolution. :(ThxSasa

Maybe it's me but has anyone else flown out of the main airport in Hamilton Bermuda in FS2004? Noticed anything missing? Scenery maybeThe airport has minimal detail (just a few buildings) and as you take off and circle over where Hamilton should be, there is nothing! It's pretty much a flat empty island. Not even any real autogen scenery to speak about, sorry, a few trees do show up. Anyone seeing something differnat?Am I just lost in the Bermuda Triangle? Are we there yet? :-rollMark

I thought I read somewhere that possibly the FSGenesis mesh was a frame rate problem in FS9. Is that true? I did install my FSGenesis files sometime after I began my FS9 flights. Can't remember if it was between my OK flights and the problems. Might have to remove them and see what happens.Steve

...is now ready for fs2004!You heard it, Ready for Pushback 747-200 Classic is now patched and ready. The patch is only 2.2 MB in size. The file patches the installationbyte wise, so there is no need for them to send out any larger file. What is really important, is that you fully understand the procedure of how the patch works!First you need to install your original version of Ready for Pushback into FS2004.Next you need to install the April Patch into FS2004Now install the FS2004 PatchI have been a member of the beta team myself, and I am really satisfied with the result! The VC is now fully clickable, and it's a joy to walk around in the cockpit acting like a 3 person c…

Today i made an IFR flight from Sydney to Brisbane, after contacting 119.80 Brisbane Centre and about 40 miles from YBBN, the 119.80 channel becomes YBMC's ATIS. It is so annoying that I can't contact ATC at all or even cancel my IFR flight, since the ATIS occupied the frequency all the time. Eventually I lost all the ATC option, even I tuned to the brisbane tower it just reads "no messages to anyone". No big deal, I can land at YBBN by myself. However when I was 7 miles from YBBN, the ATC window somehow pops up and let me choose "Contact tower". Cool, I pressed 1 and guess what - FS9 crashed.Well, channel overlapping happens in somewhere else. eg NZCH's ATIS overlaps wit…

The highter I go to lower the "Candi Bar" moves forcing me to slow me speed down.Any help?Thank you all for your time.

Ok...so I purchased some CH products rudder pedals for FS2004 and I was really excited to be able to finally disable the twist rudder on my jostick. However, I have been struggling for hours to get familiar with these things and get them set-up properly, and it just ain't happening. Some questions:What are some good values for the axis settings? I've just put the MSFS sensitity and null zone sliders in their right and left position, respectively, and I am using the Axis settings tab in the calibration utility. The brakes are really touchy, but if I turn down the sensitivity to where I'm not accidentally hitting them when using the rudder (about 50), then they don't have eno…
