  1. Hello all,Does anyone have a problem using the autopilot with the FFX MD-80 in FS2004. If have alt hold on, when ever I turn it off, the plane pitches up violently. Could this be a compatability issue with FS2004? The plane works wonderfully in FS2002. I just copied from FS2002 to FS2004any thoughts?-DSN

When I select complete custom install... This is the message I get:"Setup cannot install system files or update shared files if the files are in use. Before continuing, close any open applications."I have closed EVERYTHING twice... I have gone to CTL-ALT-DEL to the "Close Program" box and have clicked off everything except explorer... and I keep trying to install and I get the same message. Can ANYONE tell me what is wrong???I'm going crazy... I just uninstalled 6 gigs of FS2002 and have no flight program... I'm going for a biennial flight review tomorrow in a real airplane after 3 years of not flying and all I wanted to do was practice some.Thank you so very much whoever…

  4. hi guy's! I need some real HELP here! I have Instaled FS2004 since it came out, and I've treid to get FS9 to run smooth on my system, but i keep getting alot of Stutters during flight! The sim runs pretty good and steady at about 19FPS, but after like 5-10 min of flight i get these stutters that last like 2-4sec each, and it really sucks!! So i tried turning off all unnessary programs in the background, so i have like 98% free System resources before i run FS2004! Now when the bad stutters start i pause FS, go to the desktop to check the system resources, and it's down to like 35-38%!!! with nothing running in the background, everything closed!! Now is FS9 that big of a H…

If you have FAT32 drives you may want to talk with the MegaScenery folks before ordering it. It seems that FAT32 can't always (ever?) cope with the 74,000+ filies that need to be installed. The recommended solution is to convert your drive(s) to NTFS. Really a troubling scenario for many who must maintain FAT32 for any of a variety of legitimate reasons. Anyway, see the info here http://www.megascenery.com/techsupport.htm for a more complete explaination.Doug

Help!I just added a PC2700 512MB stick of RAM to my machine. It registered fine, no user intervention required in the BIOS, and windows XP shows the new memory added. Now then, I've been using fs2004 this evening and it crashes all the time - 12 times so far within 5 - 10 mins of launching fs2004! Sometimes it gives the error report (details mention panel.dll) sometimes it suddenly crashes to desktop in an instant and twice it caused an instant reboot with a subsequent disk check. No other applications on my machine have crashed tonight so far (OE6, IE6 and Excel 97). I've played with addon aircraft, default aircraft, slewing, different locations, weather and it crashe…

Hi all,Just wondering if anyone has compiled a list of Military aircraft thatactually function well in FS2002...........Where the landing gearsare fully functional, the speeds and flight characteristics allow theaircraft to work well when setting up flight plans for them. The beacon, strobe, wing tip lights actually work etc..As most if not all of you are aware, many of us download all the slick looking models only to find out the designer did not design them to be used as AI as is the case with the Stock planes. Even Reamers Canadian F18 does not function as well as it could whenused as AI, for instance it always keeps the cockpit open as if it is sitting on a runway!…

Hi Gents,After about 5 minutes of flight with FS2004, my system runs out of memory. Monitoring the amount of memory allocated, with the task manager, I can see the number of Mb increasing continuously. My specs: Dell Dimension 8300, P4 3.06 GHz, XP Pro, 2048 Mb RAM (yes, 2Gb!!)I have quite all sliders maxed out, and the amount of RAM used starts at about 820Mb and never stops increasing during the flight...This does not happens with FS2002 wich use constantly about 580Mb.What is here wrong? Can somebody put some light in my darkness?Any help will be highly appreciated

Greetings for a not too experienced computer guy from Indiana...I've never installed a new edition of FS. I uninstalled FS-2002 and it left about 700 megs of files including all my downloaded airplanes and guages, etc. Do I delete it all and start from ground up with FS 2004? Or is there away to integrate and keep the downloaded aircraft. I still have copies of all the unzipped files of the planes, so I could start over again if I need to.Thank you in advance for your help.

Wow - just took the Waco out for a spin (well, not really - it wouldn'n spin :-). Wow, great job. Fantastic plane. Am looking forward to trying the rest of your classics soon. For those interested - do a search for 'classic*' in FS2004 planes. Great, great add ons - my first for FS9.BTW, I have not done any 'tweaking' in this sim. It ran great straight out of the box. Beautiful, fluid sim, with all settings maxed. ATI 9600 pro, and a 2.0 G P4. Very happy with the experience!

Where do I go to get models (esp. T-38) to use in 3d StudioMax or Lightwave?Next question...Since I am new to the FS arena, does FS2004 have the models in the software, so that when I buy FS2004, I can change the airplanes as I see fit...i.e. add-ons.Thank you,Rob
