Finally got a flight to work properly in FS2004. Had to do a reinstall though.Anyways, I land at Phoenix with the Grabowski ERJ, go to the VC, and scroll around. Smooth. Then I used the '+' key to take a look at landing traffic. Imagine my suprise when the the VC was able to smoothly pan around while at 16x zoom!! In FS2002 there was no smooth panning for me, if I was at a high zoom, just moving the VC around, for me, was done in big steps. Maybe it's my joystick or the way it somehow is setup, or maybe it's FSUIPC or maybe, just maybe, MS improved on this. Terrific if you ask me!!.

When flying the lear it always goes nose high due to the trim being set that way. Is there a way to set it up so it is at level flight at takeoff?I have to press the down trim like 15 times to get level flight. I'm not a true "got to have it as real as it should be" kind of guy. I just want to crusie around a take some shots. So can I tone the trim down by default??

I was using my old VooDoo 5 5500 when I first picked up my copy of FS2004 and the performance was about what i expected, pretty poor. Since I had the card for awhile, I figured it was time for an upgrade. So I went out and bought a GeForce FX 5600 Ultra. However, the performance isn't that much better. This just can't be can it? I am using the lasted drivers, my CPU is a P4 1.7 ghz wiht 512mb of DDR PC2100 RAM. I play with the settings and sliders, but there doesn't seem to be any change. Can anyone offer any suggestions if they are using this same card? ThanksLarry JEvansville, IN

Hi,In FS2002 I could turn multi-texture OFF, in FS2004 I tried to uncheck the render to texture option but looks like I still have multi-texture in the scenery, for example the runway has some details that only showed in FS2002 with multi-texture. Any idea ?thanks,ulisses

Well, I finally made it to FL310 in the 744 but now when I am in SPOT view and full screen mode, there are no vapor or contrails. When I loaded a saved file at this alt in Windows mode, it displayed the trails but the saved clouds had vanished; when I clicked to re-load the weather theme of building storms, the clouds all came back great but then the contrails vanished!Any advice? Is anyone running FS9 with Ultimate Traffic, all settings maxed out, 100% AI Traffic and locked solid at 24fps or higher with a 3.2 800fsb intel ati 9800/fx5900 or similar specs, and if so whats the lowest fps you get in airports fs original scenery airports like maimi, jfk, lax, etc. The reason why I am asking is because I want to upgrade to a computer that could do that if possible or do I have to wait a bit longer. Have programmed this stick to work fine in 2K2, but the rotary knobs controlling mixture no longer have 'full authority'. Ie, If I manually push the mixture knob in on the sim with the mouse, and then command full in via the rotary knob, it jumps to partially open. Also, when spun the other way, it does not come all the way out - I can't shut the plane down, nor properly set mixture in flight. The knob has about 2/3 of its travel as 'active' but the extreemes don't do anything.IE if I set it at the middle detent, it is in the middle range in FS. If I start to turn the knob, 'pulling it out' in the sim it stops coming out in FS BEFORE it reaches the end of its travel …

Does anyone know aht exactly I would loose out on from going from 32 bit to 16 bit @ 1024x768?Will there be a noticable loss of pic quality (especially considoring the great dusk/dawn effects of FS9)?It may be worth the performance gain.

Hello Gang!I have a problem and I seek help!I just installed my new system and hooked it up to a monitor that I have used for the last 3 years. It is a Mitsubishi Diamondtron VX-1120 that I purchased with a Gateway machine a couple of years ago. It is a 22" inch flat display and it is an awesome piece of hardware. Just after installing FS2004 and all works 100% when in window mode but when I change into fullscreen mode the aircraft panel disapears!I've just got a new Gainward Pro/680 graphics card based on the Nvidia FX5200 chip.Currently I've DirectX 9.0a installed, no choice from FS install and the latest Gainward drivers: 6.14.0010.4471I tried going back a step after the install to the older drivers that were supplied with the card but FS didn't like that at all and would crash out not alone of itself but shut down and restart the machine!!! I'm now trying to learn to fly FS2004 with rudders enabled. I have CH PRO Rudders USB and I have installed CH Control Manager and tried many different settings for sensitivity and curve. But still it's always very difficult to control the plane with rudders. Especially on the ground the plane easely overreact and is oversensitive.How should it be? Is it normal that the the plane react very strongly on rudder control?After takeof the plane goes to left. Should I use only rudder or both rudder and aileron control?In the sensitivity settings there are two options, simple and advanced. Folks,Although this problem has been discussed before it was 3 months ago and with the release of FS2004 there may be new users who are unaware of the severe frame rate hit they will get if they apply XP's Q811493 security fix.In short, I experienced a huge drop in frame rates from 24 to 12 with this fix applied. Removing it restored my frame rates back to normal.Under no circumstances should you apply Q811493 to your XP installation. Doing so will effectively turn your 2GHz processor into a 1GHz one!To remove it select Start .. Control Panel .. I recently built a new computer. I had a P3/1000 Geforce2 Mx Windows ME based machine which used the Soundblaster PCI soundcard and I replaced it with an AMD XP2400 Geforce 4 TI4200 WindowsXP machine. I was happy enough with the soundcard so I used the same one in my new machine.The new computer flies the Sim much better -- BUT I have noticed "crackling" or static type noises. I have read that there is some kind of issue involving Creative cards and VIA chipsets.Anybody got any advice?Thanks Barry

Look closely at the hour meter and you should notice that it now accumulates TOTAL hours. It maintains TOTAL engine hours, not just the time in the current session.I found the files that the sums are stored in also. Can't recall the location, but I am sure you can find them. Now besure and get the oil changed on time and do the O.H. when it is due. And no rolling the hours back if you are selling the plane!I guess we asked for it, and now we have it. Hello I recently downloaded and installed the new 737-800 panel made by Kevin Sparkuhl, the file name is ks737ng.zip. I can't set the altimeter manually not by pressing B. If I am using real world weather and I go over 18,000ft I can't set the altimeter to 29.92. If I try to set it by the standby altimeter when I click it, FS2002 freezes. Somebody please help me because I want to fly the 737-800 really bad.Thank you.

I'm hoping someone can help me with a big problem that seems to be happening with ATC messages in FS2004.I'm not sure how well this will explain it but here goes.Basically what happens is sometimes when ATC is giving me instructions for various things the message isn't heard. Instead I hear one or two words that has nothing to do with anything. So far this has happend to me from the tower and from Approach when telling me what approach I should expect. It's very VERY strange.As another example, on my last flight Approach tried to tell me what approach to expect and instead all I heard was "Chinook". That's it. Hi all,Does ATC act strange on FS2004?Some times it responds to something with just an airline call (for example AirBerlin).Also some times, without any reason AirBerlin (or other call sign) appears on the screen (in yelow) and it is also spoken.Has anyone been getting this also?
