Hey All,Although I'm generally pleased with my ATI's image quality in FS9, every time ATC talks on the radios I get a stutter. Sometimes it's a little "hic-up", sometimes it's a major stutter. It's driving me nuts. I've tried new drivers for both the sound and video. I've turned the hardware excelleration up and down trying every combination possible. I have numerous other games (including FS2002) and multi-media applications installed. None of them have ever had this problem. Anybody else having these problems?WinXP HomeP4 2.81024Mb RDRAMATI 9700 Pro 128MbAudigy 2Later, Dave

Hey guys, i'm just wondering would it be possible to just swap over the new v2 MelJet 777 model files to the previous v1 aircraft, so that the old v1 is updated to a v2 model, whilst still retaining the textures? As i have a large collection of v1 repaints and it would be a shame to see them go. I appreciate that the correct model would have to be transferred respective of the aircraft, e.g. v1 GE-90 Model to v2 GE-90 Model, etc...So is it possible? Thanks for any help!

Guys,Hear this. I found a thread from a guy call Geofa yesterday who said a simple change to the fs9.cfg file helped his framerates. I was sceptical but tried it last night. UNBELIVEABLE !!!!!I was experienceing Frame Rates of 8-9 with PMDGs panel on FS9 with the sliders back to low levels. I made this change and I am getting frame rates between 24 and 29 with (you may not believe this) sliders at max in every area. This is find of the century. I don't really understand how it works but it does. It's unbelievable. How to do this :1. Locate your fs9.cfg (enough mails to show you how to do this)2.Find line DISPLAY.DEVICE. NVIDIA GEFORCE (whatever card you have) I have a GEFO…

If you have all three you may want to download the PCI latency patch available here http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/It solved all my problems. Basically FS9 won't run without it. Also turn down sound accerlation to standard or basic. Hope this helps someone as it certainly helped me. As usual, set a restore point before installing.Tim

I do quite a bit of mountain flying in FS9, and I'm trying to get rid of the texture pop-in that happens quite frequently. Basically, patches of textures out of the virtual cockpit view will sometimes go from low detail to high detail quite suddenly, rather than any sort of gradual transition. This, for me, sort of ruins the immersion of admiring the scenery.I have tried adjusting the TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS and TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS, and this seems to help some, but not to the point that I am happy with it.I also adjusted the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT setting, and this seems to make texture loads on view switches faster, but I don't really have as much of an issue with tha…

I was wondering what is the "default" mesh that FS2004 uses, and would it be worth upgrading the mesh. Is the 70M mesh a good all around mesh, or should I go down to 38.5Also, is FSGenesis the only mesh in town, or are there others. Thanks ahead.

This problem seems to have just started recently.Lately i've noticed that my cable modem drops out afterduring completion of "longer" flights. I have used both FSmeteo and WXre but have same results with both so I don't think it is the weather programs causing this. Are there settings in the latest version of zonealarm that may need tweaked to prevent this? To regain internet access I was just restarting my computer but today I tryed to deactivate zonealarm and in doing so regained my internet access. I'm new to cable modemsrouters and such so any information as to possible cause would be appreciated. Is this a firewall issue or perhaps(due to using FS for a long period …

I'm thinking about getting a USB throttle quadrant and eyeing both the GF TQE and the Elite. The GoFlight unit looks kind of miniaturized but I like the idea of the flexibility. Not sure if it has detents though for the turbines. Anyone try either of these?David

I noticed my Yoke (CH)does not hold an exact value at any point, rather is flutters (+-)7.At the center point it can be resolved by setting a null zone, but how do you solve it at other positions?I notice as I climb the visual cockpit shows the yoke fluttering back and forth...Any suggested settings?

I currently have an MX420 PCI GeForce 4 card. I am pretty happy with it. It is the "limiting" factor of my new Athlon 2400XP and I know this. I get good frames most of the time, but some times in real heavy weather it bogs a bit.I know the FX5200 is also another "value" card, but will a 5200, along with the AGP port provide a significant enough increase in performance to justify the cost.I know I may be trying to ask for the moon, but, will any of the $120.00 or below cards offer any significant improvements over the MX420, or should I just stick with what I have? Thanks. (looking at the FX5200 and Radeon 9000 as possibilities)

  17. Can anyone tell me the approximate date of the MegaScenery Los Angeles & San Diego satellite images? The reason that I ask is that the LA area is so dynamic that I'd like to ensure that the images are fairly recent before I purchase. If the dates are unknown, maybe one of you sharp-eyed VFR pilots could estimate the date by examining the scenery for recent landmarks. As usual, thanks for your replies,Robert

If you love add-on scenery, and are not on a strict budget, then sim-wings Gibraltar 2004 is the way to go. This scenery looks incredible, and sometime I may get around to getting it.However, I find that most of the time, I am not a big fan of scenery add-ons. Perhaps it's me being a bit "retentive" but I don't particularly like having one area of scenery completely overshadow another. It makes the world seem less "real". I even purposely dial down my scenery complexity to dense, so that ALL airports are missing Jetways, since I often fly Seattle to Portland, and somehow it's better that Seattle and Portland both be missing jetways instead of one having them and one n…

Hey guys!I recently started an Around the World trip in FS2004 with DF Cessna 152. I departed from Seattle (Brementon Nat'l), where I finished my virtual training, and I'm heading south. I am currently at Crescent City, California. Now my idea is: I'd like to fly different aircrafts throughout the trip (small aircrafts only, no commercial planes), but that wouldn't be very realistic, unless I had another pilot to take over the other aircraft and bring it over. That way we could all fly the whole trip and using different aircrafts.I don't want to start a frantic trip like one of those races. When you remember to check out how's it going, you figure out it has already finis…

First I'd like to thank you for responding here I'm a total newbie to MS FS, although an old hat when it comes to flight simulators.I'm looking for some add-ons to purchase for MS FS2004 that people highly recommend. I've been to justflight's website and one of the add-ons I was looking at was the traffic one.

Is there a way to have multiple eyepoints. I like to sit up front for takeoff and landing, then slide on back and look out over the wing when I'm in the cruise. I know about Activecamera, but $15 just to move the eyepoint is to much. Another question, can I extend the distance of the eyepoint slew. If no one knows I guess I'll have to get the credit card out.

I do not see a red line in front of the aircraft as was present in FS2002 when attempting to change the angle of view. When I try the numeric keyboard 1-9, on some numbers it cycles through a variety of views (eg. top, VC, etc.) and sometimes it changes the angle of view of the aircraft. Any suggestions?Jim O'Brien

Is there a way to change the number of clouds that are displayed by real-world weather? The situation is this: At my home airport, the number of clouds displayed by FS2004 real-world weather is much greater than the number of clouds that actually exist. In particular, when the real-world weather is such that FS2004 ATIS reports 'few' clouds, FS2004 shows dozens and dozens of clouds in the sky but, when I look out of the window I see only three or four clouds in the entire sky.Question: Is there a way to configure the FS2004 real-world weather to make it show fewer clouds when the cloud cover is reported as 'few'?Thanks,Robert
