I have never purchased add-on scenery for any flight sim prior to FS2004, and even now, my purchases likely will be limited to land class, mesh, Ultimate Traffic and Gibraltar 2004.My tastes in Flight Sim run a little counter to most. Maybe I didn't explain well before......I was wondering if someone had smilar problem and got around this.I can's see FSNavigator in full screen when my AntiAllising is set to other then 4x or 4xS values I can only run 2x the clouds are just to hard to set to anything higher and also running it Off is too ugly regardless the resoulution.Also it affects AdvDispaly and some FS2004 menues which will not display proparly at 2x AA setting, like choose aircraft menu.I run FS pretty much all to the MAX and in 1280x1024x32 with 2xAA and 4xAF preformance is good at that just the problem with FSNav not displaying rather flickering somewhere in the background.ThanksHere is some syst…

In an earlier post I explained that after installing Geof's Deb into FS9 I got a message stating "Sound-File ungueltig". Geof, you told me to copy the Deb's sound folder files into the main fs sound folder. I did that but didn't fix the problem. Should I install the Deb directly from the download file or should I just copy and paste all of the files from FS2002? Should the Deb sound files that you said to copy be copied from FS2002 or copied from the Deb sound files after it is installed in FS9? Sorry to be so dense about this. Hi!Directly after installing FS9 on my machine about two weeks ago I discovered that the flights I saved were no longer retrievable. I checked the files and found that the filenames had two periods (..) before the flt and wx extensions. After removing one of the periods from the .flt and .wx files the flights could then be loaded.Just yesterday I couldn't understand why the weather wouldn't save with the flight, and realised that I was flying the SF.260. Hi fellow virtual aviators!I was flying a leg from an airport in Tokyo to Mt Fuji in my trusty SF.260 today when I thought I'd spend most of the time in the VC. During my flight I activated the GPS (marvellous thing, the new GPS) and absent mindedly went to change the heading bug on the heading indicator. As I was adjusting the heading bug, I realised that I was doing so in VC mode!!!It turns out that some of the gauges and controls in the VC of the SIAI Marchetti can be activated, which I thought very strange. The directional gyro, altimeter, radio stack, and a couple of the switches can be used, which means those gauges are default gauges already available in the GAUGES…

Any of you reading my posts and answers to posts know that I've had mega problems running FS9 on my PC. I've reduced/eliminated almost every slider and checkbox in an effort to get the sim to run and I still had 1-2 second hesitations every few seconds while on take off. The sim has been unflyable.As an experiment, before I completely remove FS9 and reload it, I tried to set everything to max. Yup, I set all the sliders full right and checked all of the boxes except Render as Texture. I set the frame rate target to 44 fps. I set my FFX MD82 up at Seattle and went for a spin. Know what? What is the best Cessna 172 Aircraft from a third Party vendor out there 2002/2004?Is there anything that is better than the Stock 2002/FS9 Cessna 172. I am currently taking lessons on a Cessna 172S ..and I am looking for a closest one for my FS9.I would like to do a lot of slow Flying (Mushing) and Spins.. to learn the effects ... So I would to have one that would have the closest Characterisitcs to a real one.Any Ideas or Suggestions?One more thing: When I fly on a hot afternoon in Texas (I did this last Saturday).. there is Thermal turbulance.... If you have not already, take some time and browse the "Charts" folder in FS9.. quite a collection of charts for the Seattle, Anchorage, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Grand Canyon areas.. in good resolution!

I have my COF sliders to a level I am comfortable with for the most part.I am running in 1280x960 with 2xAA and only 2AF on a AMD XP2000(1.67)with a GF4-ti4600.3D Clouds = 100% and Max coverage.AI = 100% autogen = Normal or Dense. most sliders pretty far rightLocked at 22 FPS ( getting in in between dense cities no problem -goes down to 12 or so in heavy cities at dusk with multiplecloud layers ).I am looking considering an FX5900 and looking for your experiences if you are an FX5900 upgrader.What I want to achieve out of an upgrade is :1. I just downloaded a very nice scenery for Arlanda (I got it a fsnordic.net and the file name is ESSA_2k2v12.zip) the problem is there are some building that are missing textures. In the instructions it said I need nova gold textures (I went to www.fsnova.com and downloaded NovaGt1.zip and NovaTxt3.zip) After I downloaded those textures some of the building textures did show up. But I'm still missing some other building textures. What other files do I need to download to get these textures to show? Thanks for the help. :-)

Whats the key to flying with the VOR's as they sometimes seem to be pretty far from the actually airport? And when you are already on the approch to the runway is there any tip to line up with the runway properly is there any guidance system to line up to the runway. Thanks

Do you check "performance" or "quality" in your 3D settings? On my 9800Pro ATI card, my settings are as follows: AA = 6X AF = 8X Texture = slider to full right Mipmap = slider to full right Wait for Verical Sync = slider in middle Truform = OffI set my card to Quality. I've been reading a lot of posts and visiting the nVidia site to read the specs of various video cards. It occurs to me that the nVidia GeF4x00 series being only DirectX8 compliant may be the cause of a lot of our problems. Mine especially. Some have been able to download and use the older 30.82 drivers that seem to give good servce in FS9. My GeForce4200Ti AGP8X can't use the 30.82 drivers so I'm using the new 45.23s. Unfortunately, I'm getting stutters on take off and freezes on approaching my arrival airport.Bottom line for me is I'm ordering a new nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra card tomorrow. Is there a method to have the ATC message window close automatically - after they contact "your" aircraft ? I have ATC set to auto-close all the ATC "chat" messages, but, in the midst of handling my "18" fingers trying to get set for a GPS / ATC / transition approach...... Has anyone else tried the Piper Malibu Mirage for FS2k4? Everytime I exit the sim, I get an DXDIAG error. I didn't have it before I installed this aircraft. I tried removing it and I don't get the error anymore. I also couldn't get the neat little CD player audio thing to work (yes, I followed the directions). I've just installed FS2004 on my ageing PC (Athlon 1.4 GHz, 512MB RAM, GeForce 3 Ti500), and it looks like an upgrade is in order. In previous versions of FS, the main bottleneck was the CPU - is this still the case, or would I get a good speed boost by upgrading the vid card?Thanks,Dave.
