if i remember correctly, in FS2002 FFX's DC-10's had tail lighting at night. yesterday while on a flight that went into evening i discovered that in FS9 it doesn't seem to work. at least on mine. once i landed and restarted the sim i still didn't have a tail light on any of the DC-10 models.no, its not THAT important.....but it does make for some cool screenshots! any insights are appreciated!chris

I have a ATI 9800 video card and when I run FS9 the screen has alot of flickering which does not happen with any other programs.Is there as way to fix this because this is making the sim not enjoyable when flying?I have my settings at 1024x768 32 antilasing set at 4 and not checked in the sim settings. Is there any addon that simulates night vision or is there any way in MSFS to do low level night flying - like maybe adjusting contrast levels or something?thx

Hi,I have read all of the posts in here about stutters on landing and approach and tried all 'solutions' to no avail. I have tried many different Nvidia drivers for my GeForce4 ti4200 64 meg ram on video. I have tried turning things off in the sim (atc, effects, clouds, sound) changing the agp aperture in my bios to be smaller (it was 256) nothing changes the awful stutters I get just before landing. My machine is an AMD running at 1.1 Ghz with 385 meg ram and runs the sim very well at all other times at moderate settings.I am getting very frustrated with this. Take offs are fine and so is general flying. Stutters do appear on turns if they are fairly steep. I generally …

When an airport reports IMC (less than 3sm/1,000 ceiling), even when it's daylight the tower will turn on runway lights and the rotating beacon. I know that FS2002 never portayed this and only had runway lights after the end of daylight. Is this the same in FS9? I thought I read here that runway lights could be set to come on in daylight IMC, but I can't find the post so I most likely imagined it :)Thanks,Bruce.

Ive heard many having a problem with Radeon cards and a "barber pole" effect on the sides of buildings. Also, the ground in the distance seems to be shimmering. Im having this problem. Then after I uninstalled megascenery the problems stayed. I changed back all my settings in the game that Megascenery adjusted. I even uninstalled FS2004 and the problems still there. It wasnt doing the before Megascenery. Could it have adjusted any files that stay on hard drive after uninstall? Im baffled!!! I have the Radeon 8500. Ive been wanting to upgrade to the 9800 but Im afraid of having the same problem. Any ideas???thanks,Tommy

When I use that option it takes several minutes before the sim comes to life again and then it is always without the 2D panel, does anyone have an explanation please.Regards Ole

I'm used to Spot view chaging as I bank and turn etc, but now in FS9 it seems to just wander all over including front views while flying fairly steady. Is there a fix/adjustment for that? (I have pan rate set high).

After all these years you would think that Microsoft would get the World's Busiest 'single' runway Airport Afcad correct! Although Gatwick has a smaller 'emergency' runway (08L/26R), it is almost never used. 08R and 26L is the prefered and longest runway.I always get Taxi/Takeoff from the shorter 08L/26R runway.As a result it is almost impossible to take off in a fully fueled RFP 747-200 on 08L/26R as it results in a building crash or taking off somewhere in the Sussex countryside! I know that I can use extra Nose-up trim and scare the passengers in the process, but this is hardly 'as real as it gets' ! I am still waiting for gary summon's eagerly awaited London Airports…

Last night as I was running yet another test of my PC and FS9, I went to System Information and looked (I'm at work and don't remember the specifics of what I looked at) at System Information. Looking at the details, I exported it to a .txt file. I did this while I had FS9 minimized. Since I had done the CNTR-ALT-DEL thing and reduced my running programs to just Systray and Explorer, I expected to only see FS9, Systray, Explorer, and that other program ~whatever (it's related to FS9 clean up or something).What I actually saw under running programs (I think this was showing what was resident in my Ram) was my video card in several places, Systray, Explorer, FS9 and the …

I have Eddie's commercial pack (3cd's) for his terrain mesh for US, P.R., V.I. does anybody know if it will work in FS9 or will there have to be a patch? Also does it affect the FS9 ground textures or is it basically just elevation points (mountains etc.) Thanks in advance!!JC

My FS9 Crashes within 10 minutes or so of flying every time (I have to hard reset). It doesnt seem to matter what is going on when it locks up. Otherwise framerates and performance seem fine. In FS2002, I assigned the scroll lock to resetting my pannning view, and I assigned button 8 on my joystick.In FS2004, I could not find the equivalent to "Pan View Reset". There were some commands that came close but not quite.Would appreciate it if somebody knows and can tell me how to do that.Thanks.Abe

I believe that it was John Ci who suggested setting up a hotkey to "Refresh scenery." I did this and never used it until today. But today I needed it, I used it, and it worked. I taxied out for a night departure with the frames around 15. As I turned toward the active runway (and coincidentally toward some very dense autogen buildings), the frame rate dropped to 2.8. I tried hiding the instrument panel, changing views, looking skyward, and nothing helped until I refreshed the scenery. Has anyone else noticed that they seem to have fixed the autopilot in FS9? I was doing touch and goes in the iFDG 764 (watch for my 767-400 panel upload in the file library very soon!) at KBWI in light winds and she held the localizer AND glideslope all the way down to DH. No porpoising or diving under the glideslope. Sometimes I switch the time to night and I get a white sky. I try changing some options, change back to day then night, but it doesn't help. 1. The Paul Golding Boeing 707 panel. Have not tried to load it yet.2. The Airbus panel for Project Airbus by Eric Marciano (version 2.2). This crashed in a weird way when I had installed the A320.gau file and screwed things up in Fs2004 so I had to close it down and reboot and load a different a/c.Appreciate posts, thanks!JS

I D/L this AC which has the heading FS2002/FS2004. I have it in my FS2002 AC library where it flys just fine, but not so in FS9. The main problem is simply that I can not get it airborne. All settings are to the "read me" file for flaps, trim ,etc. I even reduced the gross weight in both fuel & payload, but it just runs off the runway. I choose JFK 13R to give me the longest run possible, but to no avail. I've also noticed this same problem with the DC-6B of Tom Gibson. What am I missing or not doing correctly here, or is this a FDE problem?ThanksChris
