Since installing FS9, I've noticed that all of my aircraft with reflective metal textures show up very bright :-cool (almost white). What adjustment (if any) can I make to tone them down a bit?Thanks,Mike :-beerchug

While creating AI Flightplans for real world airlines, it has come to light that FS time zones do not match real world time zones. A few examples are: Vancouver (CYVR) and Seattle (KSEA) Kelowna (CYLW) and Kamloops (CYKA) Saskatoon (CYXE) and Regina (CYQR)Both airports should be in the same time zone.Is there a way to edit the time zone boundaries or the airport time zone parameter?

Hello,In the approach (day light), it is hard to see the runway, but very easy to see the PAPI light even far away.Looks like the PAPI lights are stronger than should be and in my opinion now it is harder to identify the runway / airport diagram in approach.I'm running at 1280x1024 and the scenery is sharp enough...What do you think ?Thanks,Ulisses

I used to like the FFX 737 for FS2002. What files are needed to run it in FS2004, and what updates need to be installed? Is there a panel other than the 737 default for this plane (GPS a consideration).I eventually want to have a great 737, with realistic panel, realistic sounds, and WING VIEWS. Is anyone else having trouble downloading files from the file library? Im trying to download a few files and every time I click on the download link the page that says "download in progress" but then I get "the page cannot be displayed"Is anyone else having this sort of trouble?

For some reason, the fact of stretchenning the WHOLE FS window over my second monitor and set it back to its original size cured this problem. I mean I can now keep the undocked panel window sharpness in non windowed panel. Weird, I know but it works !Henri

Well, I was just flying today, and I set the wind to 5kts, with some clouds and stuff. I was in a MelJet 777 and started down the runway and the wind blew me off of it! In a full 777, with about 6.5mph of wind, it blew me off the runway, and I was holding the rudder the opposite way!

Well, I have taken the predominate advice and purchased WIN XP Home in order to improve FSCOF performance and to allow additional RAM installation. Luckily, I tried XP on a 20 gig HD that had been used as a slave under win98SE. XP appeared to install okay but I screwed up and installed it on the existing partitioned disk. It boots up just fine but after installing FSCOF, I get messages that FS( is looking for non-existant scenery folders? I did the express installation which said all files would be copied to the HD. Do you guys experience longer load times when flying at night? My computer seems to take longer "Adjusting Scenery" during load up. Is this normal?

In FS2002, you were limited to 315 (or somewhere close to that) Add-On scenery entries; any beyond that being ignored.Many times to overcome this, I would create my scenery folders based upon the author's name (to avoid conflicting texture files) and place all scenery by that author in a single add-on folder.Before I start installing a lot of scenery in FS2004, I would find it helpful to know in advance if CoF has these same restrictions?Thank youHeather Sherman

I almost never post on any AVSIM forum because it seems I'd be talking with a bunch of school children. A lot of the our fellow simmers act like they are 9 years old. It really makes it hard to participate when the overall decorum of the forum is that of a child. GROW UP!!! I have just tried FS9 for a short time (one hour more or less); I have to say I'm quite impressed by the graphics (by the way, it outperformed FS2K2 on a XP1600+ system, 512Mb Ram, GeForce4MX440: >20 fps but without AA).But I have a couple of questions...I tried a flight in the rain. New ATI 7.92 drivers now showing up on the guru3d site. They are beta so I have not tried them yet. Hope this signals the certified drivers will be out soon. Anyone try these beta drivers????Capt.Mac

Hi All.I'm working on a little utility to modify the way trim forces are felt in FS with a FF Joystick. I think trim forces are modeled wrong, but I've only had 12 hours dual instruction in a C150, about 2 years ago, (What a blast! Hope to be doing more soon) and I need some current pilots to confirm or deny my theories.So here goes : In FS, when you are out-of-trim, but flying a constant attitude (say, straight and level), and you then change the trim setting to remove the control forces, you have to make substantial changes to the yoke (joystick) position, in proportion to how much you change the trim, in order to maintain your present attitude. While FS9 is on the whole visually appealing I have found the default detailed airport scenery for YSSY (and other areas) disappointing compared to FS2K2 3rd party alternatives.Accordingly, I have attempted to load Greg Archer's FS2K2 3rd party YSSY scenery into FS9 using the directions MS gives within FS9 help for adding 3rd party scenery (they give three alternative methods). However despite giving the 3rd party scenery highest priority within the scenery library settings I still get default scenery loaded on top of my 3rd party scenery. I have seen one post on the Flightsim.com forum reporting the same issue, however no fixes were offered.Have I missed something here …
