Hi,In another thread here Kurt posted a great autogen tip to disable new autogen objects and get autogen like FS2002, thanks Kurt:**********************FS2004 has additional types of autogen. You have the regular autogen that is mostly assigned by the .agn files like FS2002. In addition you have autogen that is assigned in the terrain.cfg file, bridges, high tension towers, highway signs, etc. and these can be disabled individually in the terrain.cfg. They can also be completely disabled by changing this line in your FS9.cfg under the GRAPHICS SECTION.TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=0 0=off/1=onAnother type of autogen is assigned by the default.xml file in the Autogen folder. …

I've been following the MegaScenery development for sometime, but before there was megascenery, there was SceneryUSA (http://www.sceneryusa.com). This was supposed to be an entire USA scenery with roads and rivers based on usgs land use, i believe, NOT satellite photos like megascenery. Does anyone know if this addon will ever become a reality, or has megascenery replaced the effort? Thanks,sg

Hopefully someone can help on this. During flights from CYVR East over the mountains I have had a problem with 2004 always stopping and reloading the scenery just like it does at the initial loading of a flight. No add-on mesh has been added and have never experienced this with 2002. Did a complete install from the CD's and also tried express. Same results. Have searched the forums and no one has brought this problem up yet. It

There is an increasing problem that we as consumers need to be on guard from. The marriage of Payware & Freeware. In the past, payware was payware, and freeware was freeware. The only time the two "met" is when some illegitimate business tried to pirate freeware panels to include in new aircraft. We as the Sim community would often rally against that business and would fight tooth and nail to have that business shutdown. For good reason.Recently however, we have a new breed, in which a legitimate business man will license a tools from a freeware developer and wrap his product around it. The most common example of this is the number of applications that require FSUIPC.…

  8. In case anyone didn't notice, veteran author Eric Dantes has posted an absolutely ravishing Stampe SV4 to the file library today. I'm partial to bipes anyway, but this is a true beauty, and I highly recommend it. It flies like a dream and is outfitted with a good set of updated avionics so you can even fly IFR if you like. I personally get cold even thinking about IMC in an open cockpit! ;-) The filename is, curiously, FS2004.zip, but don't let that throw you. This is a great addition to any vintage aircraft lover's hangar.Enjoy!

I'm new to using a set of CH Pro pedals and yoke (USB) but what I have done with MS FS 2004 so far has made it a fun investment. If there is a post where this is already discussed let me know! I don't want to recreate the wheel. Basically I'm looking for some recommendations on how the rudder pedals should feel? I'm looking at the CH Control Manager here and it seems like I can tweak the pedal z axis settings in DEAD ZONE and SENSITIVITY. Plus there's other options within a box (invert/center GAIN) Well if I had a point of reference to know what it felt like with in a real plane when you use the rudder pedals I would be able to tweak this a bit easier. Does anyone have an…

Well, FS9 is one heck of a sim. It's beautiful, graphics are just 100% realistic, and so is the fly experience. But, it runs really crappy on my system. Yes, I looked at all the FAQs, yes I updated my drivers, and I even tweaked my system by making sure programs that I do not need are not running in the background. But, no avail. It's just hideous FPS for me. My system is a laptop with the following specs:2.66MHz Pentium 4 processor; 69GB Hard Drive, 1GB of RAM, and a 64MB Radeon IGP 345M.My frame rates are between 3-5 in major cities, and about 11-15 during cruise, in the 3D clouds it goes down to about 2.5 - 3 FPS. My settings are rather low, especially for the clouds.S…

I, for one, love to help someone out with computer and FS issues, but......please...please...please.....1) MAKE SURE YOUR BIOS IS TUNED!Research the net for your mb and equipment, read about what others have found to be the best settings within BIOS . DO NOT take for granted that your new computer is set up properly. Oh, it is set up sufficiently to run most OS's and programs, but perhaps not for FS. Key things to check are AGP aperature, Fast Write, etc. This is the corner stone to your computer's session you are about to begin. If this isn't tuned, the rest aint' either!2)MAKE SURE YOUR OS IS TUNED!Do yourself a favor, go to this site (or similar type of site)http://www…

Has anybody else noticed this?Once, recently, I was starting the engines in the Ford Trimotor in the VC, and with all 3 engines running while looking out the right window, I could actually see the wing bumping around up and down slightly--vibration from the motors. :) Can even be seen from external view. Vibration stops when the engines stop, and scales back appropriately with only 1 or 2 of the 3 engines running... :)Saw earlier tonight that the DC3 also has this effect, but haven't tried any of the other props yet.

Hi guysCame across this the other day and thought that you may like a laugh for a change from worrying about stutters and blurries etc. After every flight, pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during the flight that need repair or correction. The mechanics read and correct the problem, and then respond in writing on the lower half of the form what remedial action was taken, and the pilot reviews the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews and engineers lack a sense of humour. Here are some actual logged maintenance complaints and problems as submitted by Qantas…

Hi, FS BROWSER Could Be Better then fs2k4 HTML Files? This was available for fs2002 and works with fs2000http://simulationwidgets.com:8080/FSBrowser/index.htmFSBrowser uses the Microsoft Internet Explorer component to navigate through the web. All the features available from IE are immediately available in FSBrowser. These feature include normal web content access, and it includes active content such as Java applets, ActiveX components, interactive form-based pages, and even music. FSBrowser lets you set a home page and program three hot-buttons for immediate access to your favorite websites. It also allows you to bookmark your favorites websites for later access.…
