Am I the only one having trouble getting the log book to record flight time. As far as I can tell, all entrys in the cfg. file are correct, when I shut down the sim the log book screen shows up with the time. But the next time I start the sim, there is no entry for that flight. Any help will be appriciated. Thanks

I will visit Equador sometime this winter to continue on my 'visit-all-continenents' tour. So in the meantime I am trying to learn basic Spanish and exploring the land fyling around.For the flying part, I have completed some flight lessons on a Piper Archer up to one solo flight after which I stopped flying for financial reasons. Therefore I fly Dreamfleet's Archer in FS2004. The only issue is that this plane cannot handle the altitude of some of the flying in Equador. I intend to restart flying lessons again since my financial situation has greatly improved. ThePikesI need some input/opinions/feedback/uninformed hunches on a video card. Tonight I am going to be buying a Dell Inspiron 8600 notebook with the Pentium 1.7 Centrino processor, 512 RAM, 80 G HD, etc. and I have somewhat of a choice between a 32MG ATI 9000 card, 64 MG NVidia 4200 card and a 128 MG NVidia 6500 card. I have seen passionate stories about the pros and cons of the ATI vs. the NVidia with FS9. With the system I'm buying, should I go with the biggest memory for eye-candy effect or should I go with ATI that many say accepts FS9 better? I'll hang up and listen... Larry

I still can't can't post on the SSW Forum even though it says I am logged in,my problem is I can't get this sim to run under FS9.I downloaded the new 1.2 version and ran the protection remover and installed the Airbus and when I click on the plane it says error.I click the ok and than a new popup window says Internal Error # 225 and when I click on it and than on ok I get a CTD.I emailed SSW but as the norm no answer,I was hoping someone had a idea? Then, please report the problem here:http://apps.ati.com/driverfeedback/ATI gives higher priority to bugs that are reported by many people, while those that are reported by only a few basically get ignored. If nobody reports the problem, it's likely it will be ignored for the next release of Catalyst too, maybe finally being fixed next year or so.The more people that report this, the more likely it is that they will FIX it, rather than just leave a note saying "Well, we may fix it sometime in the future..."BTW, it would be great if this topic was pinned so that people see it and can report the bug to ATI.

Greetings,Perhaps a silly question but someone else might learn from it also....Where can I get listed frequencies for runway localizer/glidescope when starting decent for a landing?. COF gives which runway and that's it. Can the kneeboard have it? or do I have to pause the sim and get it somewhere else?? I usually just have the gps guide me to the runway and I follow the "glidescope lights" down to a landing. But I would like to really start using the ILS glidescope instead. I am having difficulty getting some addon scenery to show up in FS2004. Tuscon which I downloaded from AVSIM. I added from Settings Scenery Library and the Title shows up with a check next to it, but not in available addon scenery. There also is not an entry in the scenery.cfg file. I also have two other sceneries Simflyers KDFW and Fly Tampa. They also have entries with check marks, but also no entries enabling me to select them from the Addon Scenery. I do no however they are available because when I go those airports Kdfw has the Simflyer logos every where (it is the FS2004 demo)and Fly Tampa has the football stadium not available in the default. Hi all,I'm running FS2004 on a P3-2.6CGHz, 512Mb RAM, Radeon 9800Pro 128Meg, and for the most part it's pretty sweet. But I'm having trouble with the OceanFX textures... I had the two texture sets left over from 2k2, so after downloading the OceanFX 2 frontend (ofx20sa.zip) and installing everything according to the instructions, I was well impressed with the appearance of the ocean. That is, for around about ten minutes! Every time I load a texture set, it lasts for around ten minutes and then suddenly reverts back to normal, giving me the 'default blues'. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? I couldn't find any help online or elsewhere in the forums.T…

I was wondering whether you might be aware of any good 3rd-party freeware panels for 2nd-generation 737s (i.e. 737-300 through 500). I ported over the one I had used in FS2002, making sure I would catch all gauges listed in the panel.cfg file, but when I would select any of the FFX 737s using this panel and click to load a flight, FS9 wanted to phone home.Thanks! :D

Hi All; Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this: When flying the DC3, I've tried using rudders ONLY toeffect small heading changes. This is something I've donewith other aircraft succesfully. When I try this with the DC3, however the aircraft startsa bank in the opposite direction of the rudder input. Would appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this.

In order to move some FS2002 planes tp FS9 I had to put the FSSound.dll in the Modules folder and edit the FS9.cfg file. I tried the fillowing:"[OLD_MODULES]" (without the " marks) FSSound.dll=1FS9 still doesnt see it on startup and gives me a dialog box that must be checked in order to load FS9 and use FSSound.dll. Can someone type EXACTLY how my edited .cfg lines should look? Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone --I just downloaded and installed the new Catalyst 3.7 drivers from the ATI site. Sadly, neither the text smearing or the flashing menus (both in full screen mode) have been fixed.On their release notes page, they mention that a problem with menus in 1024x768 mode and 1280x1024 mode will be fixed in a "future" Catalyst release. Sounds like half-@ssed information to me. I'll go to their feedback page (again) and remind them of the other issues.OH well, more waiting... ;( Lee

Hi, I found a file at flight sim.com that will change the interior of melvin raffis MetJet 777 into a more designer look. The file is:cablan.zip Instructions say to copy the 3.bmp files into the texture folder of the jet. I have done this, but not all of textures will change. I can't get the textures of seats to change. They remain the default color. I have tried to contact the author but I suppose he has changed his e-mail address. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks a bunch for responding, S.

Last night I had some problems with fs2004 that I had never had. I downloaded the lasted xp automatic updates, and I had some sound problems as well as very low frame rates in the cockpit put not on the outside of the plane panning around. I was flying the BeachKing 350 at the time.I set my weather for certain parts and tookoff from Frankfurt Main and the takeoff seemed like a slideshow to me. Just very wierd. I tried London Heathrow, same thing. I restarted the sim and it was fine then. However my sound wouldn't work for some reason. I turned my volume up but still no luck. Hi guysI have every sympathy for the folk in Bermuda at this time as they experience the worst recorded hurricane in living memory but I thought that I would place my 182 at Bermuda airport and d/l todays real weather. WOW. Clouds and very heavy rain but I was stable until I attempted to take off and then all hell let loose as I was twirled around like a cork. There was no way that I could regain control and I could only imagine how dreadful it must to be in such a situation for real.As Real As It Gets.........well it was for me today.
