Well, I've tried pretty much everything besides getting new hardware. All the work arounds and so on. No joy. The moment I switch back to full screen on my main monitor, all the undocked bits and pieces fly back onto that screen as well. And yes, I have tried yellowjack's routine, but it doesn't work for me.I really don't think it's too unreasonable for me to expect that something that worked so nicely in FS2K2 should work in FS9. I'm not talking about some pie-in-the-sky concept on the edge of the impossible, but merely something that was there and functional one iteration back.For those who have gotten used to flying with multiple screens, going back to the one screen c…

HelloI have asked this once before but got no reply, now that the first flush of FS9 problems real, imagined or self inflicted has died down here goes again.In FS2002 I was easily able to change the red on screen messages like the "press P to..." to either nothing or my abbreviated versions like "PB" for "Parking Brake" etc. by using a hex editor on "english.fll" in FS root.I cannot find this file or one which does the same thing, can anyone help?Regardsken ellis

Is it possible to prevent ai aircraft from showing up in the select aircraft menu I have at least twice as many ai planes as standard planes and it is annoying to have to scroll through all the unnecesary planes. Any help out there.Thanks

Quick story....I tried the VIRTUAL_COCKPIT_TEXTURES_SCALE=2.0 (discussed in the "READ ME FIRST" post) out this evening, and I was happy with the resultant sharpening of the VC gauges. However, my default FS9 benchmark flight showed a widly fluctuating fps after enabling this tweak. The final result of the benchmark was a loss of about 9fps on average.If I hadn't set up a standard benchmark routine using an autopilot flight and FRAPS, I may not have noticed the problem until a couple of days later, and by then I may not have been able to track down the culprit as easily. It does make me wonder how many of the people complaining about inconsistent fps have enabled this twea…

So Whats wrong with this these pictures?This is the new MelJet v.2.0 models, and with it is the virtual cabin that is blocking my views from the cockpit...I have used many different panels and I get the same thing...I've also tried zooming the virtual cocpit back as far as I can, but this had know affect. I tried FSMet, and didn't like what it did over default. Is ActiveSky truly a must have, or is it really just different weather than default?Noel

Since I am reluctant to dump my temporary internet files and loose all my logins and passwords (again!) - has anybody actually figured out exactly which file is the FS wx file?

By switching off water effects (and taking the opportunity to bump up texture detail to land & water) I have gained 10-15fps. I used to get high single digits to low teens so its about double to triple speed.The crazy thing is that it does not matter whether there are any rivers,lakes,or oceans within sight, the speed increase is the same.I'm finally happy with my FPS. I have the download winds aloft checked in the weather menu of FS9 and I download the Jeppesen weather, but I've never seen winds aloft during a floght. What am I doing wrong?Paul Gardner

Just trying to get a feel from people who've upgraded to ATI's new Catalyst 3.7 drivers with a 9700 or 9800- do you see any meaningful performance boost in FPS? I'm still running the 3.2's with my 9700 Pro (haven't really seen a need to upgrade I guess), but a boost in performance and/or image quality would be reason to make the change.Thanks for any info,Joel

Hello Gang!I have installed the fabulous 777-200 by Melvin Rafi in 2004. The problem I am experiencing is that every time I look left, my entire view is blocked by the VC. How can I correct this? Has anyone tried to use fsFlightmax for FS9? I am looking for a TCAS program that can monitor aircraft on VATSIM using WideFS. pmTCAS from Project Magenta does not work using a FX5200 video card.Andrew,

Subject pretty much says it all...I'm looking for websites that do live streaming audio of any sort of aviation radio--approach, enroute center, etc. I've found one so far, Norfolk (VA) International Airport Approach (KORF) at http://audio.hrconnect.com. Hi Guys,I find the light blue Heading, Speed, Altitude etc, numbers hard to see. Is there a config number somewhere that can be changed so that they read-out in white or red?I'd sure appreciate finding out.Thanx, John Membrino

Seems like everytime I download an aircraft it turns out to be a crap shoot. Sometimes they install with no problem and other times they don't. In cases where they don't they all seem to be in the proper directories but don't show up in FS. Also, when I try to delete them I often get the message that it is being used by another person or program and to close any programs using the file and try again. I can't figure what else would be using the file. I always have FS closed when I try to delete them.Is there any thing that is a common reason that aircraft won't end up in FS even though the directories seem to be correct? Thanks for any help.Jim

Hi,Has anybody been able to fly with winds aloft enabled either with FS2004's own real weather or FSMeteo ? Even with rate of weather change set to zero, I get violent changes in wind direction such as a 70 kt headwind going to a 70 kt tailwind in 1 second. I do have FSUIPC (registered version) with wind smoothing enabled but it does not work. I have seen other posts on this but no definitive solution.Thanks,Pesi

Anyone else having problems with FSMeteo Servers being down. Just got my updated 6.3 and went to try it out and both servers timed out with no connection. No problem downloading offline weather.
