1. How do I get .pdf files to appear in the web browser when click on a link that is a .pdf file in Internet Explorer? I can save them on disk, but when I try to view them at the website, it opens a new window, but the .pdf never appears. I do have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.2. Why do aircraft textures disappear for no reason in FS after a little while? I'll load an aircraft, go to spot, and the plane has all of its textures. A little while later, the plane is completely blank. I've seen this happen with both the PMDG 737 and the Legendary 727.Thanks for any help,TIMMAY!!

Fs9 seems to be the best sim yet for practicing pilotage skills, but there are still a few frustrations. I've purposely commented out the GPS gauge on my Ford Tri-motor and Piper Cub, because I really want to practice navigating as it was done before the days of navaids. After I got the sim, I spent a few days trying to reconcile the roads and power pylons, for example, to my current real-world charts. Sometimes the sim is quite accurate, sometimes detail is just missed completely, making navigation at times quite difficult. The narrow rivers also seem to be often misplaced. Not a complaint as such, that's just the way it is with consumer software that in my view still doe…

I know, I know, this is not the correct forum for this, but I didn't feel anyone would read it if I posted it elsewhere:Monday, September 8, 2003First day of qualifing for this weekend's Reno National Championship Air Racing began and there were a couple of surprises.Skip Holm (flying the highly modified P-51 Mustang "Dago Red") set a "first" day qualifing record of 492.722 mph (single lap average speed). Skip Holm (Calabasas, CA) also holds the official lap record of 497.211 (set in 2002).In a seperate qualifing attempt, Mike Brown (Hawker Sea-Fury out of Carson City, NV), clocked an unofficial 508.021 speed. On the run, Mike had a catastropic engine failure rounding pyl…

Hi there, does anyone know where I can find an entry in either the aircraft.cfg or the airfile that determines an airplane to be either a taildragger or conventional landing gear aircraft?I know this is not realistic but unfortunately my rudder pedals died last weekend and it'll take me a while to get a new one. I've tried differential braking but I'm lost without my pedals. As far as I remember that setting was editable back in FS98 or maybe even FS2000 but I can't remember where I can find that entry in the airfile.Any help with regards to this unrealistic temporary fix would be much appreciated.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,A…

I've just upgraded to an Evesham Evolution Computer.Spec as follows:-Processor: P4 3.2Ghz Processor1GB RAM160GB Hard DriveMotherboard: Intel D875PBZGraphics: Nvidia GeForce FX5900 UltraSound: Creative Audigy2 PlatinumMonitor: Samsung Syncmaster 191T flat screen. The result: FS runs smoothly using the default settings and more. Even the densest add-on scenery, heavy clouds and add-on aircraft still don't significantly affect frame rates, which I've locked at 25FPS. Fantastic!THE FUTURE?I understand that Intel do not intend to release any faster 32-bit P4 processors, as they - and Athlon - are now moving on to a new range of 64-bit processors. There seems to be some doubt as…

Has anyone else notice this? On some airports, like SJC for example, when I go to top-down view in the window, I don't see the runway, but GRASS! I see the taxiways fine, but not the runway. I can see runways at other airports fine, but not SJC. Any clues? Is that a bug? Thanks.

I was thinking of ordering the Dash 8 Pro and the DC-9 30 Pro from Justflight.Link>>http://81.88.168.1/justflight/en/(li4lmc55...a&pid=JFF000182Is the DC-9 30 Pro the same as Flightone's Iron Knuckles DC-9 30?Also I did read that they work in FS 2004 but wanted fellow simmers opinions on these planes. I'm a prop junkie but do enjoy the jets so this seemed like a good deal for me (around $50 USD with shipping).Comments and opinons please.Advanced thanks as well.See you in the fence...

Recently downloaded 2 Meljet 777 - excellent models but I found one very odd problems in cockpit views:1. In 2d panel view, if you look left, you see a blank cockpit wall, looking right is ok.2. In V Cockpit view the right half of the screen is as expected [forward view with no virtual panel] but the left half of the screen is again a blank cockpit wall. Panning left then takes you round the cockpit walls with no outside view.Overall it appears that the cockpit textures are somehow out of phase with the correct views. Also it appears to be an Aircraft.cfg problem - but I have no idea how. I can find no fixes or comments on the Meljet site so very grateful if anyone else…

Has anyone been able to undock panels at all?even better to move them to another monitor, where those monitors run window mode?I will try to uninstall XP SP1 later, has proven to malfunction with fs2002, so I never had the service pack installed before.thought it would be neat to freshen up the system before installing 2004, but now I don't know...I have a geforce4 TI4400 and a SIS PCI cardti4400 runs two monitors, one in full screen and one in window mode.SIS run window modethe undock choice of the panels menu are simply greyed out.I could rant about how I 'm not allowed to ask this question at the other site.....//Leif

Any suggestions for a good freeware aircraft for FS9 that works well?To date, I have found only the Twin Otter. Most of the others, seem to be FS2002 retreads with alias cockpits, or have operating bugs. Stanner

"New ATI Video Drivers Available FS2004 users have had problems with certain video cards but some users with Intel based computers and ATI RADEON 9800, 9800 Pro and 9700 series cards now have a solution. New ATI Catalyst 3.7 driver is now available, as reported by Cap Mason. Learn the details here. Sorry, this fix does not help owners of AMD based systems." "Patience has its rewards. ATI finally released their new Catalyst 3.7 driver for the RADEON series video cards. The new driver has many improvements and completely fixes the video problems encountered when using RADEON video cards with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight." http://www.flightsim.com/cgi…

Well, for everyone who is a jetBlue fan this should make you happy. Right now I am working with the Flying Tigers Group and jetBlue Airways to form JB Virtual. Hopefully the new virtual airline will be an affiliate of the other great FTG groups like Cathay Pacific, etc. Here, I have a question for all of you. I'll put it to a vote. The question is about a name. Which one is better, JB Virtual or JBA Virtual? Please inform me as to your opinion. I hope this was great for many of you. Thank You, Aaron Ricchio

I am sharing some scenery files from FS2K2 into FS2K4. I believe that is the cause of the opening message in FS2K2 which says "Completing setup, generating new scenery file indices..." and the FS2K4 message, "Building database for new scenery files..." Is there a workaround for this annoying problem? I don't want to waste hard drive space by replicating scenery directories in both simulators.Any help/suggestions appreciated.Airbus

I took off from Juneau Intl on a normal morning, and then I saw this off to my right (pic #1). I decide to fly to it, and then THROUGH it, and I was immediately thrust to an altitude of over 60,000 ft (pic #2). My engine stalls, and I am 'trapped' between two of these things (pic #3). It wasn't until 5 minutes later that I was able to break free of this 'bubble' I was stuck in, and re-start the engines (pic #4). I landed back at Juneau with no problems. Anybody else have the sim go nuts on them like this?Scott

Can anyone help me get the 737 started in fs9?I know I can start it with CTRL+E but I want to do it properly. Thing is the help files all say press CTRL+E to start the engines and don't give help on the real way to do it.This is how far I've got at the moment.Engines off. Select engine 1 (E+1)Hold down the start button, wait for 20% on N1 and then add rich mixture (CTRL+SHIFT+F4)The engine then starts. So I then select the other engine (E+2)Go through the same procedure and nothing. It get to 20% but won't go past that no matter what I do.So, am I doing this right? If not can somebody point me in the right direction.Cheers.
