Hi,I accidently busted my current Fs2002 install, which had all the little tweaks made in the .cfg file. These tweaks i want to put back in.I used to have it set so that NO on-screen messages like "2x speed" "cockpit" "overspeed" "Simulation Paused" etc..... appeared.However, with a new 2002.cfg file, all these annoying messages are back.. & I'm buggered if i can remember what to edit to remove them.I seem to remember that is was just one simple thing to change that switched the lot off!?Can somebody remind me please! :-)Not to worry about the 'brakes' message.. i've already got rid of this.TaAl

Does anyone know how to brighten up the instrument panel in virtual cocpit view within FS2004? Mine always seems very dark and hard to read.David

Hiya all,Could I ask if anyone has these sound files to email them to me at [email protected] please? 1) Instead of a 'twenty five hundered' call out of the radio alt. at 2500 feet I would like a file that said 'RADIO ALTIMETER' and2) The sort of autopilot disconnect sound that BA uses. Hi allI am new to this forum. It has been a few months since being active in fs 2002. I have seen fs2004 is now available. I am interested in getting it but i have a few questions.I am thinking of buying a new video card for my pc.(ATI Radeon)Here is my specsPIII 650 with 256 mg ram.I have a friend that has the ati radeon 7200 in his Piii 800and is getting smooth frame rates.would this upgrade to my machine run fs2004 smoothnote:fs2002 is running at about 27 fps with my viper 500 card.i am now running in 1024x780 mode. Granted my sliders aren't maxed.what do you think.PS:i know my system is old but i don't want to buy a whole new pc for the game.dave

Just wander if I'm the only one on this but I was flying into an airport that has a low freq AWOS something you would listen to on your Nav freq and was unable to get on the sim. Using the flight guide noticed that there was a phone # for it so with those unlimited night and weekend local and long distance free min's used my cell phone to call and get the weather. Sure I could of pulled it up from with in the sim but felt that wouldnt be available in real flight so did the only thing I would be able to do in the plane had this been a real flight. I'm currently using a Radeon 9800 Pro with the latest (Catalyst 3.6) drivers. I've read and tried just about all the "fixes" for bad stuttering, with nothing helping. My fps' are outstanding for the most part, but even with them locked at 35 fps (and showing that value constantly), I get severe stutters when on and near an airport (note again, this is a stutter, not an fps issue). Due to various factors, I'm beginning to wonder if this is partly an ATI-FS9 issue. Has there been any consensus yet as to whether ATI or NVidia is better/worse in terms of stutter problems in the vicinity of an airport?Please note - I'm not trying to start a mini-war here on which card is b…

Just for the heck of it, I used the download real weather feature and then used the goto to place myself at Bermuda Intl (this was in the default Cessna). I could barely see the buildings and from the spot view, you could see the rain going sideways. Never got a chance to take off. I started to taxi and as I turned 90 degrees from where I started out, the aircraft lifted off the ground and cartwheeled 3 or 4 times in the air. All the while, ATC is yelling that I hadn't been cleared for takeoff. So ended my very short career as a hurricane hunter. It's worth trying, though I'd suggest something with a little heft to it. a coupple of quick questions1. Is there a way to tune a Squawkbox radio by directly tuning on the aircraft radio stack?2. Can I use FS's ATC while flying online in IVAO? Since most of the time the aria I fly in IVAO lacks human ATC, so I want to turn on FS ATC in such occation.thanks

Hi,this is driving me crazy... my ATC key keeps on either changing from ` to that vertical small line (can't reproduce it here), or the assignment gets cleared completely. It happens randomly, anytime, even in the middle of a flight.Besides that, I can't get rid of the cockpit tips anymore! QUICKTIPS=0 in my cfg file (that's the one, right?) plus the appropriate field is un-ticked inside the sim's settings. Ok, first I know what you are all saying..why would you run FS under Win 2003 in the first place? I know...I know.Anyway, I have a fresh install of Win2003, FS2002 loaded, and the new "Unified Drivers" from Thrustmaster loaded for my Fox2 Pro Shock Joystick. I can calibrate the joystick just fine in Windows, but even though I have "Enable Joystick" option box checked in the FS Settings...the joystick is not working. It doesn't even show up as a selection choice in the joystick drop down box. It seems like FS is not seeing the joystick attached at all.Anyone else seen this problem?Thanks.TraceyRichardson, TX

Your time and input is much appreciated.I think I have found a reason for 90% of my stutters and hopefully this will help others here too. OK, so on older add-ons, we have to live with problems in FS2004 until someone comes up with a fix.I moved Bill Lyons' Bobcat to FS2004, ignored the incompatibility warning (said NO to disabling functions) and everything works perfectly. Landing gear, moving control surfaces, virtual cockpit etc. all working as they should.Everything, that is, except for the bloody props!So what's so special about the props? :-(

Hi,I've manually copied two of my FS2K 3rd party (Carenado) aircraft into FS2K4. Unfortunately, at run time when the question came up to 'disable advanced features' of the aircraft, since they were older and (potentially) not Fs2K4 compliant, I said 'yes' to one. It now has no gauges in the panel. The other that I did not say yes to works just fine.i have tried everything, including 2 complete uninstalls and reinstalls of FS2K4 and the older aircraft, complete with folder deletes after the uninstalls, but I simply can't get that aircraft's panel guages to show. Since the second one does work, I assume that the setting is the problem.Anyone know how to get that working aga…

Hi, I recently downloaded a file that will allow the cabin interior of melvin raffis metjet 777 to be changed to a more designer look. The file is titled "cablan.zip" and can be found at flight sim.com. I have tried to install as the author has written, by just copying the .bmp files into the texture folder of this aircraft. When I do this, some parts of cabin change, not all. The cabin seating remains the default colors. Can someone say how to correctly add these? Many of you, especially the yanks and the brits, will know that during the Second World War there were a large number of airfields built along the Eastern side of the United Kingdom as this was the nearest point to Germany and therefore reduced flying time.Many of these airfields can still be seen from the air and not all of them by any means have been turned industrial or housing estates.If you are lucky enough to own the VFR Photographic scenery of the UK then you can see these disused airfields. Last night I flew over three of them and in the case of two you could still see the runway markings after 60 years and the dispersal areas where B17s etc were kept.I could hav…

For the last couple of weeks I have been struggling to get acceptable frame rates for FS 9.Specs:Athlon 2.4radeon 7200Audigy 2 Sound cardTonight I downloaded the 3.7 radeon Catalyst Drivers. I did a flight from Seattle to San Diego. Real weather with live updates. Autogen dense. Cloud draw 80 and sight 60. Clouds 90%. Most other sliders maxed.I also left the background programmes running. 14 in all including my virus protect.Wow what a difference. FPS mainly in double figures and only the odd stutter. I have recently upgraded my graphic card to 256MB MSI FX5600 card but the aircraft panel no longer show up in FS9 at all - only a black blank screen show up in the panel area no matter how I tweak the graphic settings. Only the B737-400 panel shows up while the other panels for B747 and B777 all go into pitch darkness.Has anyone in the forum experience the same problem and any work around technique is greatly appreciated.

What is the best way to install this panel in FS2004? I already installed it in FS2002 using the executable file. Do I install it the same way in FS2004? Will this place duplicate entries in my registry? I already have the FS2004 update, but, of course all of the gauges used in FS2002 have to be placed in the FS2004 gauges folder to make this panel work.Any thoughts on this appreciated.Airbus

Hi all,I've been using PAI and AI-Aardvark replacement aircraft for a long time now and am very happy with the smooth frame-rates they deliver. However, I haven't seen many improved GA aircraft (lower polygons, more LOD levels, etc.) available to replace the MS defaults. It would really be nice to have some frame-rate friendly alternatives to the Cessnas, Cherokees, Lears, King Airs, and other "smaller" aircraft in FS9. Anybody know where I might be able to find some? By the way, I have replaced the Dash-8 with AI-Aardvark's Brasilia and highly recommend it.Thanks,Marc
