Using MeatWater's findings, I was able to write an HTML/JavaScript MP3 player that will work with any aircraft. It runs on the Windows Media Player engine so it can also play WAV's and other audio files. Here are some pics: http://timbo87.home.comcast.net/temp/mp3-1.jpghttp://timbo87.home.comcast.net/temp/mp3-2.jpghttp://timbo87.home.comcast.net/temp/mp3-3.jpghttp://timbo87.home.comcast.net/temp/mp3-4.jpg I'm going to do some more beta testing on it and revise the looks of it, but after that it should be up for download.

http://timbo87.home.comcast.net/sig/vulc.jpg

| [link:www.alphasim.co.uk]Alpha Sims]
[/table

The writer is a pre-VietNam Navy Pilot with instrument ratings in both Multi-Engine/Single Engine fixed wing and helo craft so I have a decent idea how stick forces feel in various aircraft. In MS Flight Simulator I do not sense this same feel of stick forces when changing configuration. For example, when you are in straight and level flight everything trimmed and you make a turn, ascend or decend the simple interia of the aircraft tends to continue the craft in the same direction and resists the change by a substantial stick force which has to be overcome by trimming. (Citations to Newton's Laws) You surely could not hold the stick with these forces for any time without …

After some agonising, I bought FS2004 recently.I understood that GMAX FS2002 aircraft were generally compatible with FS2004, and that seems to be the case.Without being unduly technical (because I don't know what I'm talking about), late model, non-standard FS2002 panels are however giving me a real headache, with gauges not being recognised when copied over into FS2004 etc.I'm particularly keen on the FFX DC10 (for which I was using Helio Estrela's DC10 panel in FS2002) and the FFX Boeing 738 (using the Boeing 737-7NG Next Generation panel by Andy Karlstetter). Neither of these work for me in FS2004, although no doubt going by the quality of their FS2002 work, these two…

For some reason I have not been able to post in the POSKY forums, and now the site is down. Since I have had the POSKY CRJ, which IMHO is the best looking freeware plane that has been released, I can't help but notice the touchy rudder steering when accelerating down the runway. The slighest touch can cause the plane to move all over the place. Has anyone else wondered about this or maybe done some editing to the .cfg file, etc to help with this?

First, the good news. Catalyst 3.7 will be released VERY soon ;)Now, the bad news:No info on bug fixes for Flight Sim 2004 :(http://www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_37_Re...tes.html#166850"Setting the game Flight Simulator 2004 to display at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 followed by starting a new flight results in the menu being flipped just before the new flight is about to begin. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming CATALYST

This is weird.Start up flight in cockpit, and first activation of ATC controller yields a normal sounding voice pitch.Cycle to a new view, and the voices, pilot & ATC, change to a higher pitch. It sounds like they were on helium. Obviously, some variable is causing this, but I can't figure out what it is.I have reduced sound acceleration to BASIC in DXDIAG and re-installed the drivers for the onboard AC97 set up. Still does it.Thoughts anyone?

It appears that the Server problem has been corrected.Attempted to log on at 8:00 A.M. EST with no joy, but just made another attempt at 10:50 A.M. and logged onto the server with no problems.Kenny G.

Hi all, wanted to post this earlier this morning, but something cut my connection before I could do so.Anyway, I think some time ago I read a post from one of the Beta or Gold testers that it was, in fact, possible to use the FS2002 traffic.bgl file in FS9, provided you copy over the relevant AI aircraft as well. Can anybody confirm this finding? I'd very much like to keep my Project AI'd traffic file in FS9, if possible. Thanks! :D

I am thinking about getting one of the above. I'd like to find out if you have options of choosing some of the aircrafts and eliminating others. How flexible is each program? Are they integrated in a module, or use a different interface?Would appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe

Hi all,I just finished a flight from, EGLL - to KIAD, using IDFG's 767, and lonney's panle, awesome combination IMHO.However what do you guys do when your in CRZ and the Autopilot is taking care of things. I just seemed to get a bit boared thats all. Im not complaining, just wandering if im missing something. I did check the weather, plan my descent and stuff. once over canada i used a little 16X for a while, just before ATC started to descend me. So guys n Gals what do you do? am I missing something, or is this pretty much what happens in real life? apart from the 16X :)Jason

As an instrument rated pilot (soon to be commercial/CFI by Oct 31) and businessman in the Boston area, I have begun an altruistic endeavour. I am beginning a flying club that will service the entire Boston area and outerlying airports. I know from previous posts, that there are many real world pilots that sim, like I do, and many cannot spend the 80-100 an hour for simple 150 hp 4 seaters. I have devoted my life to the business and law of aviation, and look forward to achieving this one goal: making flying dramatically cheaper for those that are not training for a rating, and do not need to fly with, or at, a flight school. Call it the Walmart of flying. But, we will ha…

Greetings,Perhaps a silly question but someone else might learn from it also....Where can I get listed frequencies for runway localizer/glidescope when starting decent for a landing?. COF gives which runway and that's it. Can the kneeboard have it? or do I have to pause the sim and get it somewhere else?? I usually just have the gps guide me to the runway and I follow the "glidescope lights" down to a landing. But I would like to really start using the ILS glidescope instead. ANy helps is greatly appreciated!!Mountaineer!!!

I just loaded up the new Trinidad and, at least for me, the fight model is virtually unflyable. It will not hold pitch/trim, and weaves all over the place. I've checked to make sure this is the FS 9 model (which it is), which I've loaded into FS 9. Anyone having this problem?Thanks.:-(

I'm shocked that, as such a lowly person here, i.e. newbie, I may have the good fortune to be one of the first to point out 3.7 on ATI's web site. It's downloaded and I'll install now.sj

Hi there,I was flying nicely in my F1 c152 yesterday and did an ok landing. I stopped the plane on the runway and without me touching a thing, the plane throttled up to max power by itself! So i moved the throttle forward and back to idle and the power decreased but almost immediately returned to full power again.I've tried closing and reopening FS9, restarting windows, i've tried default planes, add on planes, different airports and even disable the joystick but i just can't get anything to stay at idle power. As far as i'm aware i did nothing to start this happening and i really don't want to reinstall FS!I have CH Products 3-lever USB yoke, USB pedals and Thrustmaster H…

Chris, Ilove this sucker. But the ocean reflections make flying around Puget sound and other coastal areas sometimes just awful appearing IMO. Is there any hope for a redo on this? I hate to turn all reflection off. I'd be happy with FS2002's at this point. Do you feel it is something MS will have to fix, or will you be able to?Noel

I tried to install it.1. I copied the Aircraft folder from FS20022. I copied the guages from fS2002 guage folder to FS2004 Gauge folder3. I aliased the sound.cfg to point to beech_baron_58sound4. On the panel I removed the references to his ATC gauge, to the two GPSes and to the Air Traffic Detector, which, as I understand it, are incompatible with FS2004.Now the deb will fly, but whenever I try to click some switch (such as gear-down), or change the view (from the 2-d cockpit), a small error dialog comes up with the title: "Soundlib - Fehler", and the content of the dialog window is: "Sound-file ungueltig", and an "OK" button.Dismissing this dialog twice keeps the f…
