Can't find the scenery library in the menus, Could this be the result of the "type" of install, or a bad install? Just wonderin'?MB

Did not receive any comments on my 1st attempt at this question, trying again. HiI'll be travelling to LA next week for a holiday, also visiting San Fransisco, San Deigo, Yosemite etc etc and was hoping that people for these areas could help us out by recommending some places to pickup some flightsim software, nothing in particular, just looking for some good deals. on both the default c-182 and the carenado cardinal i get a "bleed thru" of the wingtip strobe thru the wing skin at certain angles of view as i pan to the left in VC. did some searches here and "there" but don't find an answer other than someone thought it was an old problem.

I was wondering if anyone has noticed this in FS2004. The last two times I flew the sim, it was at night with different aircraft. One minute everything is fine and the next, the screen flickers a few times. It does it on and off and not at the same place or aircraft. Any ideas??I'm using a G4 TI4400 with 40.31 drivers.

Folks,I just installed FS 2004. I cannot get it to go past the splash screen. It just hangs and does not give me an error message. I have to hit ctrl-alt-del to shut the application. I also found that after installing FS2004 I cannot boot up Fs2002 either. It also hangs at the start up screen. I have been using it regularly for a year prior to installing FS2004. I have downloaded DirectX 9, the latest nvidia drivers. The computer is 1 ghz, 512 mb ram, and 64 mb video. Can someone help? Thanks!!!

Hi guys,What is the difference between the two?I've searched for this but can't seem to find an answer.Why am I at altitude at 17000 feet, but at Flight Level 190 at 19000 feet?No doubt there's a simple, sane answer to this. I also think the altitude/FL parameters change around the world too.19000 is 19000, and calling it an altitude, flight level or a fish shouldn't change that.BTW - this is not anything to do with Barometer readings - that I'm happy with.Looking forward to being educated.ThanksAllblack

Hye guys, here I am again with a silly question. Personally I like the old models of the New FS2004, but I dont fly them, and I never will LOL. Here goes my question...It is safe to delete DeHavilland Comet, Curtis Jenny, Wright Brothers, St. Louis, etc etc etc from my AIRCRAFT FOLDER, and if I do this, does this will affect in someway my FS???Thanks in advance friends...

I can only go from my XP2000 ( 1.67gz ) to an XP2400 ( 2.0gz )givenmy current MB ( which I am not considered changing at this time ).I am running W98, FX5900 w/det45.23, 512MB Ram.Not sure if that small step in CPU upgrade will make a lick of difference. Are Mesh and AI-traffic CPU bound - as those are the areas that I tend to experiment/adjust downward to gain FPS.Running 1600x1200, 2xAA, 8xAF, Clouds 100/max, autogen ( normal or dense - can't decide ), vis=60/cloud draw=60. Getting 12 - 18 on complex approaches, 25 - 40 or more out in the open.Thanks,myles

On my way from KGCN to KLAS in FS2004. Tried to contact KLAS on nearest airport list and FS2004 crashed with an atc.dll error!! Anyone else experiece this yet? What caused this? This WAS a really nice flight in my Beech B200 until my screen went black!!Thanx!Airbus

This parameter in the fs9.cfg interests me. I have two copies of FS9 (both identical retail). One is on my gaming rig which uses a Ti 4200. The second copy is on my development machine which uses a TNT Vanta card, some 4 years old.The default installation on each machine reveals the following values for this parameter:1. Machine with Ti 4200:TEXTURE_MULT_BANDWIDTH=402. Machine with TNT Vanta:TEXTURE_MULT_BANDWIDTH= 30These values are closer to each other than I would have thought. If one assumes this parameter is there to make the most efficient use of the video cards texture bandwidth, then I wonder how the algorythm within FS9 decides what the value actually is? The ban…

I am currently in the FFX 733 DELTA heading to KMCO in heavy'ish t-storm weather. I'm at FL330 and the cockpit BARO is 29.92. But the MSFS GPS readout at the top left of the screen says I am at MSL 32289. I've observed this kind of diff on other flights using Weather Themes that I sometimes tweak in the Advanced Weather windows.Excuse my stupidity but I am still confused about pressure, baro, and ALT. Can somebody explain to me why I have this difference in ALT readings and are they normal?Thanks!JS

I have a Dell Desktop.. 2.0 Ghz Intel processor with a nVidea 64MB GeoForce2 MX, 512 MB Ram and 80 Gig HD.I am using the Fsim9 with Megascenary .. Its a little slow.. but with the Captiansims 727.. it is very very slow..I would like to buy some hardware.. What is the weakest link that I can improve?I am thinking of getting a 256 MB Top of the line Video card ..whatever card that maybe.. Any suggestions?..would upping my RAM from 512Mb to 1Gig help? Can I upgrade my Processor without buying a new computer? ..what other option do I have?I am hooked on Fsim.. I need it to work properly..:)

While doing a walk around of the aircraft I noticed that the rudder moves only to the left. I stood in back of aircraft and pushed joystick to the left and rudder moved to the left. When I pushed joystick to the right nothing happened, rudder stayed centered. With Num Lock Off; I used "Num Pad 0" and rudder moved to the left, "Num Pad 5" centered rudder.Used "Num Pad Enter" (suppposed to move rudder to the right) but rudder did not move. (Those commands are from the Flight Sim manual)Does yours do that?It is the same for all of my FS 2004 aircraft. Regards,Don S

I can't believe I've spent maybe 50 hours flying and only started to notice these pylons last night! And that is the problem. On my 17" monitor at 1024 x 768 resolution, these pylons are *extremely* difficult to see, unless one is quite close to the ground and deliberately making a concerted effort to look for them.The two problems I see are this: Firstly, the background bitmap upon which the pylon vectors are placed blends very well with the surrounding scenery. Secondly, I am sure the pylons are true to scale, but is that what we really want when we are using a flat, 2D monitor with a much lower resolution that real life and a much smaller viewing area than real life?Wh…

I've just downloaded from the file library the excellent PC6 Turbo Porter by FlightSim Developers.This is a really nice model but I have one problem.In order for all things to work you have to install in your Modules folder FSSound.dll a FS98/2000 dll that enables some of the guage sounds.This dll is provided in the download with instructions.After putting it in Modules everytime I start FS9 I get a message warning about "potentially incompatable sftware- do I want to continue? " I answer yes and all is fine.Is there any way I can disable this warning notice?Dave

I've been trying out the FS9 Mooney, 'cause it brings back fond memories of Flight Unlimited III, and the extra speed over my usual default plane (the C172) sure is nice.However, I am really having trouble landing. My first problem is that I'm having a hard time seeing the runway in the VC when I am on final, because in order to stay at a 400 or 500 fpm descent on the glideslope, I have to keep the nose pretty high. If I dip the nose down so that I can see the VASI lights and touchdown point, I tend to loose altitude pretty quick.I'm thinking perhaps I am just not used to having the cowling in the way. I've tried moving the eyepoint up as far as I can while keeping it som…
