Hi All,Here's a question for all you "programmer" types....Is there a way to program a shortcut so that when I double click, say my FS9 shortcut and open FS9 it could also open another program such as Grabber2K (screen shot app) at the same time? Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I have not been able to find ILS frequencies listed for any particular airports, in the Garmin GPS units. Are they listed anywhere or is this a project waiting to happen? Also, is it possible to automatically transfer flight plan info from FSNav 2004 to the Garmin GPS as is done within FS 2004 when you create a flight plan?Chris

When I try to install FS9, after about 2 miutes copying of Disk 1, my monitor goes blank and a 'monitor warning' flag appears saying "Frequency out of Range". It's like FS9 is trying to switch to a refresh rate/setting that my monitor can't handle.Running a 19" Princeton monitor, 32mb Matrox Dual Head, AMD850. Everything else runs fine, been running FS2k2 no problems for many moons.Any ideas?Thanks,Rob.

Which one should I get? The pro is $100 more. Is there a performance difference or is it just offer more features? Im currently using an 8500 but would like to improve my graphics. The ATI looks like the majority choice over the GeForce in this forum.thanks,Tommy

Ok, I moved the fsgenesis files over to FS2004 according to their tutorial. Look great - same as FS2002. However, when I tried to move several flatten switches for lakes over, FS2004 first said it was loading new scenery and updating its scenery database, but the switches did not work. Further, they do not appear in the scenery library.I put them in a folder called 'Add on' in the scenery subfolder of FS9, and the actual switches reside in a subfolder of 'Add on' called 'scenery'. Same file structure as in FS2002.

Is it normal for the "Geforce 4" page of the advance video settings to show "8.1" as the directX version, even though 9.0b has been installed?I believe (but am not sure) that it showed 9.0 before installing the update to 9.0b, but it shows it as 8.1 now. I've searched here and elsewhere but can't find answers to my captioned question.As one who will definitely be hanging on to FS2002 in parallel to FS9 for some time to come, I'm curious to know whether the last freeware version of FSUIPC in FS2002 is worth overwriting with the latest if non-registered, or whether that will actually kill functionality; and whether the certain functions that are not supported in FSNav 4.6 in FS9 ("move aircraft to here", etc.) would also disappear in FS2002?I shall probably let sleeping dogs lie in my FS2002 as the older versions work just fine, but would appreciate any input.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.j…

LA Megascenery will not load for me because I am using FAT32. Can you manually extract the scenery and texture files from the BIN file on the CD and manually install the scenery?Bill Meier

Hello all!!!!I haven't been in here in a proverbial month of sundays. I am still using an p3-866 system with FS2000 still running. I've been recording FS traffic tracks for so long that I hate to give it up. Anyways, I have to get FS 2004. The time is now. I just purchased a new machine. I am curious as to what add-ons are the most popular as far as AI traffic, clouds, terrain, atc? I already purchased radar contact v3 as I have been using v2 on fs2000. Has anyone had any experiences with FSGenesis products in fs2002 or fs2004 as far as framerates. I can't wait to get my new computer!!!Thanks in advance

With VC it has become very noticable that there is no nose cone in the view. In VC mode, I feel like I have a flat panel between me and the wind.Also, one should be able to see the wings. When looking left rear, the pilot should be able to see part of the wing.Maybe someone will be able to come up with an aircraft that exhibits wing views and a nose cone.

I've moved through quite a few phases in my simming days and am just recently recovering from a long, hard-fought battle with a file library addiction. Hundreds of planes flown once, hundreds of flights installed and never flown, scores of panels tweaked and refitted for a plane flown once, gigabytes amassed and unceremoniously abandoned along an exhausting path to little personal satisfaction. I transferred all my mesh files to FS2004 and even though some of them were FS2000 files, they work very well.Raimondo Taburet's Gibraltar mesh has no effect in FS2004.Any ideas why this is please?

Has anyone installed Corporate pilot in FS9 and if so did you have any problems. We had to use the patch provided for fs2002. Hope someone has it working in FS2004.ThanksChuck

OK. Now I've decided to go to Windows XP Home from Windows 98Se. It is now a question of economics. It will cost me $300 to purchase Windows XP Home and have my PC builder do a clean install for me. All things considered, it's the right way to do it. I understand that with the Windows XP Upgrade, which I can get for $99 at Wal-Mart, I can convert my FAT32 disk to a NTFS disk with no problem. While I realize that there may be a lot of things left hanging from Win98, what real advantage is it to me to spend the extra $200 for a clean installation? Will it improve the performance of FS9? Now using XP -- but a longtime user of Windows ME before that , I have always run the Windows Defrag tool on a regular basis. When it is finished , you get that familiar little box which says something like "Windows is finished defrag -- do you want to exit now?" and I would always click OK.BUT -- I have just noticed that if you read that little box a bit further, it also says "Windows couldn't defrag some files - click here for a report" . Clicking for a report revealed to me that a number of FS2002 files were reported as being fragmented. The largest was a WX file - UI Generated temporary flight.wx - 3 meg in size with 104 fragments!!So I ran the defrag tool again and…

I am really impressed with this mesh - originally produced for FS2000. In FS2002, I recently checked out Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges in SA - and it is very impressive the way the Pound has been reproduced. Barry

With all the hoopla about this card and that being compatible with this or that driver for this particular software, I'm kind of curious what the current thinking is. Does a major game developer hold the responsibility of making sure every video card in the world can run coherently with a particular product or....does the video card developer have to ensure that a particular card can handle any somewhat modern game out there? I've been helping out on a project and so I've been doing some testing in 2002. Now it crashes to the desktop if I'm in full screen and alt+tab to the desktop then alt+tab to go back to 2002. I thought it was the add on I'm testing, but discovered it does it just starting up 2002 then going to the desktop & back. My 2004 works fine with no problems. I don't know if it started after loading directx 9b and also have the new nivida 45.23 driver for my fx 5200 ultra 128mgs video card. Need those dirver for 2004 for the 2d panels. I'm running win ME 512 mgs ram a 20 gig and 80 gig hd. Both flight sims are on the 80 gig D: drive. I haven't been running 2002 much sin…
