I have killed an exorbitant amount of time trying to find some support for acceleration and aicarriers. Since AVSIM seems to be the most prolific source of flightsim knowledge, I thought I might search here. However, I have not found an appropriate place to ask my questions. Instead of asking them in an inappropriate place, I thought you might not mind if I inquired here if you have an appropriate place on Avsim that you might suggest to me. If so, I would greatly appreciate being directed to it. If not, I apologize for wasting your time. Thanks. Dewey

I start my flights in the full screen mode and fly in the full screen mode. Yesterday from the full screen mode FSX dropped to the taskbar and the desktop appeared. Click on the FSX icon on the taskbar and it will come back in the full screen mode. Press Alt+Enter and it will come back in the windowed mode. The only way I can prevent FSX from going to the taskbar is to run in the windowed mode. In full screen FSX drops to the taskbar on an average of once every five minutes. Hi all, I apologise if this question has been answered, I have done a search but have found nothing. From my experience of flight planning (real world), both VFR and IFR, cruising level winds play a big role in calculating HDG, Drift, GS, ETI and Fuel Used. How does one get accuracte weather in FSX to calculate the above for a flight plan? Besides the obvious of user entered/generated weather. Any help would be much appreciated

I noticed that the MILVIZ King Air 350i is still a beta release. I have two questions: 1. What significant functionality is missing? 2. Are they releasing updates to the beta version?

I am trying to decide to go to UTX Canada, do the ORBX gig, or stay native. First a little history to understand my quest. I used FSX for years but gave up on it due to constant CTD's. Then I went to P3D until it crashed more than I had patience for. Then I found MS Flight and was impressed with it's stability and awesome graphics, but after years of that I have run the adventure of HI and AK it's course. Hello I recently lost my download for the E-jets sries ERJ and was wondering how i could get them back. I have the serial number.

Wow, talk about disappointment. I watched lots of videos and downloaded documentation from CLS which clearly depicted fully funcitonal INS. I used the CIVA extensively with RFP and this looked like a way to get back to that mode in FSX. Got all excited and bought the airplane today (FSX HD) and found the INS is not implemented at all, is now a sticker on the center console and has been replaced by two toy CDu's. What the hell happened? (Yeah, I know, "f-lite" happened. Pretty clear what the "f" stands for) So, is there any way to get the "real" version of this add-on or am I just screwed? Would just like to know if I have any hope here or just need to cha…

Hi guys, I cannot find this topic anywhere. A few days ago I noticed that when I land black tire smoke resulting from tire/tar friction, instead of the normal white smoke. It shows squares just before it changes to black smoke. Also the vapor trails coming from the wing tips are dark as well. It happens on all aircraft, including jets addons big or small, propeller planes , helicopters. I thought it was because I installed this 'dust' that picks up when helicopters land. I was away from flight simming almost completely for more than 18 months now (but have followed the sim news and most developments during that time) and now plan a slow comeback (incl. new hardware). Since I'm not up to date information wise, I'd appreciate opinions about what sim and base add ons to use, that would become my setup for the nearer future then. In the past, my FSX was crammed with stuff and big iron (in other words I have tons of FSX add ons, I think I can update most of them to recent versions)... Is there any way to overlay the FSX map in Google Earth or vice/versa. My problem is that when I make a ship traffic routes.kml in Google Earth and then compile it along with the Boats.txt and Plans.txt files I sometimes get crashes on land due to the fact that the FSX map data does not agree with Google Earth? I have made ship traffic using the .kml method with what looks like plenty of land clearances and still get land crashes. It is very evident when I try to make river traffic or traffic around islands. Bob.

The ground night textures in my FSX load at around 2-3pm in the afternoon which is annoying obviously. This also happens in the morning when the night textures stay until around 10am. Actually even the night textures of Aerosoft's London Heathrow Xtended load at those times during the day. Is there any way that I can change the time that the night textures appear? I don't want night textures loading during the day. I want night textures to load during sunset time and day textures to load at sunrise.

Greetings, I am attempting to install Roland's excellent weather radar for use with ASN, in the RA V2 piston Duke VC using the RXP G530 x 2 panel option, with the radar in the #2 G530 unit: gauge19=rxpGNS!GNS530, 1, 660, 504, 364 gauge20= RolasnRadar!ORadGauge, 506, 600, 480, 364 sweep|beam|icing I am trying to properly position the gauge by adjusting the four sets of 3-digit numbers (x,y, etc). Can someone please explain the function of each set (i.e. height, width, zoom,)? At present, the radar image is zoomed in too much and I'd like to zoom out . Or even better, if someone has already accomplished this, the panel.cfg would be very much appreciated. …

I was looking up EZDOK to set up some specific cockpit views, but it appears v2 has "been in development" for like 5 years or something. Can anyone comment on whether it still works as it should, or, perhaps, if there is a better alternative? thanks Andrew

Hi all! Earlier this week I came back home to my simming PC after over two months of work away from home. So of course it was time to update a lot of stuff. I did a fresh install of P3D V2.5 and the Majestic Q400 1.014. Unfortunately I have one major issue with the Q400 now... I have no digits on any display in the VC (PFD, ND, MFD, whatever they call them in the Q400). The FMS and radio units work, just the main displays have no digits or letters on them. Everything works as it should and I can use the 2D panels, but in the VC I only get the outlines for everything like the speedtape, just no numbers inside them. Terrain is being drawn just fine. I had asked this question in my other topic concerning black & blue scenery issue at a few airports and/or surrounding scenery. Maybe overlooked hence my new post. Someone advised re-building the FSX shaders cache by deleting the contents. In Shaders are five maps (General, Terrain etc) do I have to remove these or the many .fx files inside. Have also Shaders10, I presume that I do not need to do anything with this map. I presume the FSX cfg or other items in FSX will not be altered. Have others been helped with similar issues by this method of re-building the Shaders cache. Or are there other ways to try and solve this issue. Installed…

Hi there! I recently un- and reinstalled my complete FSX. I only installed the addons I really use, and my FSX.cfg only contains the HIGHMEMFIX=1 and the AFFINITYMASK tweaks. I never had a faster booting, performing and better looking FSX! I also use it in DX9 mode. The performance is really great! With frames set to unlimited, I get a framerate of well above 30 most of the time, with drops down to low twenties at dense airport sceneries, Only at some airports and over cities like London (FTX Global, FTX Vector, FTX Open LC Europe and FTX Trees HD), my fps go down to 15-19. Hello, I have recently installed FS Global 2010 FTX version. I had FTX Vector working really fine before installing fs global but i wanted a more precise mesh for my fsx. After installing FS Global 2010 i made an AEC auto scan (and then applied it) and yet i saw that there were a lot of issues regarding the airports elevations as you can see in the picture below (Geneva airport).
