I'm trying to get my storm clouds to look like cumulonimbus clouds. I see the lightning at the base and the tops are over 20,000' , but they look more like fracto- cumulus clouds. I have Rex 4 plus overdrive and ASN 2. Have posted in both forums with no luck. Any ideas ?

  2. I'm having a very strange issue where my airports in New York aren't loading properly and there are problems with the scenery. I've removed Drzewiecki Design New York and the airports from the scenery library and reconfigured UTX, but there has been no change, and the default airports (of KLGA and KEWR) are still displaying incorrectly (as in the pictures below). Does anyone have any advice as to what this could be and how I can fix it? I would like to avoid reinstalling FSX at all costs... Thanks

Hi all, I am a proud new owner of the LHC Lear 24B. Fine aircraft! Now, I did read the manuals and quite some of the user input on the forums regarding ILS approaches using the Lear autopilot system. Hence, I manage to have the autopilot fly the ILS right to minimums, but I kept asking myself why I never get a switch from NAV/ARM and GS/ARM (yellow) to white NAV/CAP and GS/CAP on the autopilot annunciator panel despite the autopilot tracking LOC and GS perfectly. I have integrated the F1 GTN 750. What I do: Fly on Gps and NAV, ALT mode to line up with the localizer when aligned, switch from gps to VLOC mode and push LOC to capture laterally.. NAV CAP will be corr…

I am kind of new to this type of avionics, having spent most of my flight sim time with the big jets. I recently decided to buy some of the ORBX regions and I am thinking about upgrading the avionics in some of my payware/freeware GA aircraft. Looking for a recommendation from the GA crowd as to which way to go with these GPS addons. Also, I am confused as to whether I need two of them or just one ?

As the title says, I'm getting pretty awful fps right after I got airborne. When flying with the NGX for example, they start to drastically drop from 30 to 5-7. Turning the camera inside the VC towards the overhead panel helps but I'm of course unable to observe the instruments. Thank god there is an autopilot and I don't have to fly manually... Anyways, the problem often fixes itself as soon as I've left the area around the airport and during the rest of the flight I again get approximately 30 fps. I've been enjoying FSX despite this problem for quite some time now but any suggestion on how to fix this is greatly appreciated as I often fly manually after takeoff.

Hi there, I've never had this issue before, but it seems that any ground texture, except water, in the LOD radius of my aircraft is fuzzy, not blurry. http://gyazo.com/d95fa706404b4a8dfa32d18a8b24e330 Has anyone had/seen this issue before as I couldn't find a similar issue online. Cheers, dec

Hello everyone, today I found a different new problem with Fsx Practically from the home screen when I'm going to select an airport goes in crash; after twenty tests I discovered that this only happens with the airport located in the eastern part of America! So I tried it Toronto, Boston, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Montreal, with these crashes, instead with Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle did not. Then I saw that in Fsx library is the number 91 which is just "Eastern North America" .... I tried to remove the area and put it back but nothing does not work ... Since it this problem is circumscribed only of this area, there is a way to restore it?.....or th…

Why is it so difficult to get ATC and AI traffic in accordance? I mean why does ATC assign me to RW 25L/R, though all AI traffic is using RW 07L/R when I'm arriving at the airport? This happens with default FSX ATC but also with proATC (which I currently don't use). I am using AS2012. Also changing the weather using the fsx menu (AS2012 not running) after loading a flight does normally not help (let's say by changing wind to 255 with 8 knots). Any ideas? I am asking because I really like the VHHH 25L/R (BETTY TD) approach passing FTs beautiful Honkong scenery. But I hate it seeing ai a/c starting from 07R/L. Harry

  10. Hello all, I'm sure there are some ut2 users on here so here is my problem. I'm wanting to add some repaints to UT2, and even though I believe to be following all the directions, these said repaints are not showing up. For example, I download opensky's 737-800w base model and paste into my ut2 aircraft folder. I also download the specific 737-800 model that the repaint needs and paste it into this base model folder. Then I download the repaint that I want and paste the texture file into this same base model folder. I copy the texture cfg and paste it into the aircraft cfg folder and do everything that the readme file says. Open up ut2 and try to add the repaint, but t…

  12. Hi guys, I'm a bit confused about which C182 to buy :-) I'm considering A2A C182 Skylane (analog) and Flight1 T182T (glass cockpit G1000, upgradable via Navigraph). I now these aircrafts have many differences but in your opinion which one you would buy? Consider then I only use Steam Edition, so T182T it's not compatible, for now. Thanks for your opinions

I love bush flying, currently with the BN-2 Islander, but I am willing to go for something else ... I'm looking for a scenery that I can really get into, rugged airstrips, difficult approaches, airstrips difficult to spot... the kind of thing I see on Wild Alaska, where the airline operator spots likely unprepared landing areas and tries them out, so he can offer them as ad hoc strips to hunters and hikers in future! I have Raw Grit PNG as well as the great African Adventures, I also have Orbx PNW, and I fly the Islander into Orbx Scotland's rugged strips. I want a new scenery, a big one! My options I think are: Orbx Southern Alaska Orbx Norway Orbx Nea Zealan…

  15. These two Paro approach videos can be easily compared (rw video is shakier, but that doesn't really matter I think): Real world: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzcwdYJ1ibE FSX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxYNCFNvzOk My personal overall feeling when watching those videos is that the sim gives me the impression that speed is much higher, terrain much closer, there's less time for maneuvers - all in all the real world video is much "less frightening" to me. The real world situation looks more "relaxed" and "doable" - look how the simmer drives the plane like a racing car onto the runway... That kind of "wrong immersion factor" is one of the reasons I ceased simm…

  18. Hello, I am trying to understand how I would fly this approach chart: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-0565D87339666069BE0FFE7A5F7F4AFA/7FE5QZZF3FXUS/EN/Charts/AD/AIRAC/EG_AD_2_EGSC_8-5_en_2014-09-18.pdf I think I understand most of the approach, come in via 231 degress, and follow the descent path, but I don't understand the racetrack procedure. When would it be used? also how would you fly it? I can only assume that it would be used when the aircraft comes in from a direction other than 231 degres (or maybe ones lower than the start of the DME arcs), and then you enter it, fl around until you come back to the IAF, then follow the lines? …

  19. Did a cursory search with no results, so forgive me if this has been discussed previously. BUT - I have finally set up FSX (and now SE) with all of the aircraft that I really like to fly. I'm sure others will come along, but for now, my personal livery consists of the A2A C-172, P-51 (mil and civvie), Cub, and B377, the Alabeo Tomahawk, Carenado Grand Caravan EX, RealAir Turbine Duke, Coolsky MD-80 and the Leonardo Mad Dog, and the PMDG 737NGX and 777. Although I keep the Trike as default load (for FS2Crew), I have little use for any of the aircraft that were installed with the sim. And there are a LOT of them! Gliders, bi-planes, tube liners, Cessnas and Mooneys... Onc…

  20. I am trying to understand how to read navigation plan. Here's a sample plan from New York to London. As far as I understand the plan says: 1. Take off from Kennedy airport and go to JFK (VOR) by covering distance of 0.9 at heading 058 2. Then go to DUEYS (waypoint) by covering distance of 31.2 at heading 011 3. Then go to GANDE (waypoint) by covering distance of 21.2 at heading 011 Is this how you read it? What if I miss one point while flying? While my GPS correct me?

  21. I just bought my first LatinVFR Scenery - Orange County, John Wayne (FSX). I thought I would register for forums, found that they send you to Cayman Airways Virtual. And then it looks like you have to sign up for their virtual airlines. What's with that? As a product purchaser/user I just want access to forums. Can someone, anyone out there enlighten me please on the LatinVFR Forum registration. The signup sheet talks about having to make a flight every three months or you will need to reregister. Tell me this can't be true please.

Buongiorno a tutti, volevo avere alcune informazioni riguardanti l'oceanica NAT.

I've been spending quite some time in the Q400 this week and I notice behavior I'm not used to from other aircraft and it seems a bit contradictory to me. The aircraft is constantly flying with the right wing dipped low and the nose is 10-15 degrees turned left from the given course. I also regularly notice eradicate behavior, the nose swaying from left to right, which can go as far as over 10 degrees and also airspeed and altitude get very jumpy, way more than I'm used to from any other aircraft I've flown, in heavy winds. In heavy winds I'd expect such behavior, but this happens in winds as low as 12-15kts, while on the other hand, I see the aircraft fly very smooth w…
