So I have recently done a fresh install of FSX, started installing also all the add-ons starting with FTX Global, FS Global Ultimate Mesh, UTX USA/Europe, and lastly yesterday Rex4 TD w/Soft Clouds. I decided to set rain for the weather, and man was I surprised at what I saw.... Rain practically flies horizontally coming straight at you??? In flight it seems like Han hit the hyperdrive button and I'm heading straight to Alderaan (well, were it *used* to be, you know...) WTH is going on??? Doesn't rain look like rain? :S

So, I have been watching Night Environment packages being put on the market for some time. I have Global and all Orbx Regions, I have UTX packages....both these have night lighting aspects. And when I occasionally do fly a night flight, I think the resultant look is fairly nice. Can anyone advise me if there is any real value to buying these addons for night lighting when my other addons also claim to enhance night lighting? Is there anything to be gained, really? Are they not doing similar things? cheers Bryan

So one of the items I purchased and installed is "the best" FS Global Ultimate Mesh for all the world... It's all great except when testing out my install (starting from scratch and testing the first scenery add-ons, etc. ) I go test some areas I used to go: Miami: flat... Houston: Flat.. Hi, I recently formatted my computer, mainly because FSX would start crashing in the middle of the flight. But now that I installed it again, I always get the User Account Control prompt (I'm using Windows 7), which had never happened before I formatted. I've had to use the FSX Registry repair tool, which I never had to use before. I'm getting all kinds of trouble with my FSX now, instead of what I planned. Also, I own the Aerosoft Airbus X A320. I had no problem with it whatsoever, but now I can't see the ND display even though I max out the brightness, and I don't hear the sounds in the cockpit even though I turned them on already (nor do I hear the clicks when…

I was wondering if it's alright/advisable to install FSGenesis if you already have Flight1's GEX North America and UTX Canada installed. Do these products use a terrain mesh, or is that a separate product such as FSGenesis? Thanks, Raphael from Vancouver, BC

I used VisualPSX to allow me to have FSX-SE as a scenery viewer for Aerowinx PSX ( the only airline simulation I use these days... actually the only civil flight simulation I use... ). This is a great application, but it has it's limitations, one of them being that you can't really interact with PSX from the FSX cockpits. Since real mokup cockpits can be built to interact with PSX, I believe that if some developer decided to create a PSX-dedicated 744 fleet, for FSX, P3D or X-Plane 10, with a 3d cockpit of the higher grade, like those available for FSX and P3D by PMDG, for instance, it could be used to interact with every system in PSX. I recently bought taxi2gate's new MMMX Mexico city Extreme. All I have to say, is that Taxi2gate really has quite a bit of talent on their hands. The amount of autogen around the city (If you turn your autogen to the max) is amazing. With literally zero frame rate hit. And no OOM's either! The airport is really detailed. I would highly recommend this add-on to everyone. Totally worth it. I just wish Taxi2gate would do a U.S city... the majority would want a city i the U.S done. Hey guys. I used to have fsx (cd version) installed. I uninstalled it when I got p3d 2.5. I also bought Flightsim Estonia's migration tool to help with addons. Now I want to install fsx again on a 2nd harddrive alongside p3d. However, when I start the installation I only get an option to repair or uninstall the preexisting version of fsx. However, I dont have fsx installed... I know that there can be a few configuration challenges for installs etc. when you have FSX and FSX:SE on the same machine. However, am I correct in assuming there is absolutely no relationship what so ever between FSX:SE, P3D v2 and X-Plane. I am purchasing a new PC and just want to be sure that if I install those 3 that they are all fully separate from one another. Also, is there any place that maintains a compatibility check-list for FSX:SE? Thanks

Hi, I already know how to install liveries and work a little bit around the aircraft.cfg file in most airplanes. I'm trying to install the Project Airbus A320 (latest version, from the website) but unfortunately I haven't been able to make it work. Is there any step by step tutorial on how to install the base pack and the liveries, or is it self-explanatory? I have several question like: does the base pack come with sounds and panels, or do I have to use other airplane's files such as the default A321? What exactly does "base pack" mean? Hello, I found several videos on youtube where you saw the reflection of the external lights (like the strobe lights) on the ground during daytime with the pmdg 737, but I can see them only at night. I know that there's an option for the pmdg 777 to do that, but I have searched in the 737's fmc options and found nothing. It would be great if someone could tell me how I can set it up like this.

The unsung beauties no one knows of and the ambitious projects that failed to gain momentum are sometime sthe most interesting and beautiful aircraft. I'm talking particularly about airliner. The Lockheed Constitution, Ilyushin and Tuploev's failed attempts at a 4 engine piston engined airliner, lockheed's sst design, etc. Has any addon developer ever worked on those planes or planes like them? On antother note, except for the ANT-20, FSX and FS2004 are completely devoid of pre-ww2 soviet civil aircraft, another area I'm interested in. Why don't any exist? Hi there, 1.) I have created a flight plan with Fscommander, when I save as and select AXE box it will save it but not as RTE flight plan, it will be recognised as a FLP, any idea what i am doing wrong. 2.) when I take off everything goes according to FMC or CDU,but I noticed that the aircraft is not following the airspeed from the FMC and I have the autothrottle engaged in other word I have a warning saying overspeed. Hey guys, I'm really busy trying to get the PT Tu-154B2 to work, and to get the automatic stabilizer to work, I have to be able to calculate the CG% of the aircraft from the default FSX Fuel & Payload menu. Does anybody know how to do this (may sound a little dumb or silly)? Rafael.

Hi, I have a problem with my QWsim 757. This time, when I load the plane, It doesn't make CTD, but make FSX Stopped Working, I've read all over the QWsim 757 forum, tried to reinstall Microsoft VC 2005, 2008 and 2010, also reinstall it two times, and even make addon manager both run and not run, NO HOPE. The title reflects a very serious question, to which I hope to get some good feedback from the community. After recently reinstalling FSX:SE (due to hardware issues that I won't get into as that is verbotten here), I installed all of the usual suspects in my arsenal of content. For the moment, I have all of ORBX England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales as well as ORBX OpenLC Europe. Folks, Been running FSX for years no issue, i72600 k @4.7 GTX 7704gb 16 Corsair Ram.. All of a sudden developed micro stutters when panning eg as you pass the cockpit frame and generally it feels very laggy when climbing or descending the horizon looks choppy...not tearing using NI at 1/2 VS Uninstalled FSX cleaned Reg uninstalled GC drivers clean checked Reg then thought well good time to use the FSX SE I bought back in Dec so installed and have the same issue with this? Guys, I know there is a lot of discussion going on using ORBX OpenLC vs UTX V2 or a combination of them. I've made some screenshots which show the difference. Shots are taken around EHAM the Netherlands with ORBX Global and without Vector installed. UTX V2 without ORBX OpenLC Europe activated in the scenery library. UTX V2 and ORBX OpenLC Europe above UTX in the scenery library. ORBX OpenLC Europe between UTX Landclass Urban and UTX Landclass Vegetation in the scenery library, which is advised in the UTX manuals.
