I love small props like the lancair legacy for being able to go anyplace, but I was wondering, what is a typical real world length of a flight? I've been doing about 40 minute hops to get used to FSX again before I get into the fun things like Superbug and PMDG again.

If you download and install the elite ifr pilot / jet demo then run it whilst the program is running it disables enable desktop composition !!! in windows 7 ----------------------- option found here control panel - system and security advanced system setting - advanced tab - settings visual effects tab / custom ------------------------ is this allowed ?? for a program to disable an import feature like this?? the tick box option (enable desktop composition) only returns once you reboot So currently Elite IFR program only works in full screen Im guessing they have done it on purpose to stop people making ext…

I have an add onn called Sim Touch that allows me to use a touch screen for a lot of the clickable switches in FSX aircraft. I have 2 ear piercing sounds so loud they get the dogs barking in my street. One is an autopilot disconnect the other an altitude warning. Unfortunately the devs wont point me to the files in question and Im very annoyed at that so here I am. There is no sound folder in the Sim touch folder and I cant find them in the FSX sound folder. Where else could they be?

I've got NE UK AND California for P3D v2.5 and have been waiting patiently for the next generations to be released but this morning I succumbed to temptation and bought NE France to check out all that v2 has to offer, it's not an area I spend much time flying in even though I live next door in the UK. Compared with the previous versions of NE v2 is a revelation, so much variation in the lights and the wonderfully immersive car headlights! In combination with Orbx Global LC I get great frames and seemingly less micro pauses as the distant lights load. I know I'm going to be made to think I'm a dumb simmer here, but here goes. I've been simming for over 16 years, and I'm embarrassed to bring this up again. I wrote about it years ago, and vowed I would correct this inadequacy, but alas, I have not! What am I embarrassed about? I only use planes or buy planes that use the default GPS gauge. I STILL do not know how to use an FMS. Like you, I probably have thousands of dollars invested in this hobby over the years, and I fly every single day, and I enjoy it immensely. Hello All, I have finally picked up 2 new WD Black hard drives. While backing up my current FSX folders, 2 files were on corrupt. 1 - cvx4517.bgl 2 - cvx7836.bgl I am trying to find out which cab those files are in and if somebody could provide the file size of the above files. Hi there, I was going to fly but after I tried to load my flightplan into the 737 NGX FMC this message appeared: LN:24 ERR at -999. When I look at the ARR of my Destination to select a STAR or Runway it says: "none". I use Navigraph. What can I do, to solve this problem?

Proatc-x 1.4 doesn't show the aicraft in loading options page, and (I suppose) accordingly doesn't load the flight in FSX when I press fly now. I have FSUIPC 4.6 registered, and in options/path folders, FSX seems to be right. FSX is opened in the right airport with the right aircraft and the right flightplan. (I am posting here because Pointsofware forum seems to be out of the air) Regards Walter

Hi! I just got a new and bigger monitor (27") and started to notice that something was not right in FSX. The edges on objects are smooth as always, but the texture was jagged and pixelated. I notice it especially on thin lines (monitors in cockpit, fences, tarmac light poles etc.) I tried everything and even rolling back a little overclocking I had done on my GPU and CPU (not running hot at all). I thought maybe it was just that i had a much bigger monitor so i noticed it easier, but when i tested on my 17" gaming laptop aswell i saw it to, but have not noticed it before. Using default aircraft, the heading bug only moves in 10 degree increments - making fine adjustment impossible. Also the VOR only moves in 10 degree increments, and the autopilot altitude selector ( the plus and minus hover adjustment) only moves in whole thousands of feet. There are keyboard shortcuts to change the rate of change, to "Increase selection slightly" it's Shift + =, but what does it mean by "Selection", I'm using the 2D panel, just turning the heading bug - I've not "Selected" anything? It's a newish install, but was working fine up to recently, Any thoughts? Eugene

Hi. I always fly full screen mode. But suddenly FSX refuses to go into Full Screen, either by alt-tab or views-full screen. I have Maximised=1 under [MAIN] in .cfg but returns to 0 on exit. Any ideas anyone??? Martin Stacey.

Hello, Can one of the admins or someone give me a link to the proper forum to keep up with any reviews users may post regarding running FSX after upgrading to the new Windows 10? I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to watch for them or not. Since Windows 10 has launched this morning, I'm anxious to read others reviews before I decide to update my desktop which I primarily use just for my FSX and a couple of other games. I am upgrading one of my laptops this morning to check the system out but am hesitant to update the desktop, sure don't want to mess up my FSX. Thanks Jim

Mind Blowing.........but don't hang up your TIR just yet. Without trying one for yourself it is difficult to describe what I saw. It certainly is not perfect. In fact it is far from perfect. Everything shimmers. There are no sharply defined lines. But.......... I cannot go back to the flat screen. The immersion factor from the perspective of a feeling of vastness, depth, height, movement (my stomarch lurched on occasion), speed (particlulary on approach or low passes) - it is jaw dropping. Hello, I have just recently started flying the default Learjet in FSX and have run into a probably simple problem maybe someone can point me in the right direction. When setting the ILS course using the selector, I haven'the been able to locate the readout showing what I am setting it to. The mouse over label doesn'the show the setting as the do for speed and heading settings. If I've posted this to the wrong place please let me know and I'll be happy to move it. Thanks Jim

Hi guys! Does the AES actually work at the newest build of FSX:SE? I intend to transfer to FSX:SE during my upgrade to Windows 10. I am asking because I really love animated jetways and precise pushback. These two things GSX simply cannot offer yet. And therefore I don't want to lose this addon. No matter how old technology is using.

For the past week, I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why Can t land at PGUM without getting the dreaded OOM error then crash. Turns out the freeware scenery on Avsim and Flightsim.com is crap. Its called Guam X V2 by Morten Linde. The scenery looks beautiful, if it worked. Upon loading ANY aircraft onto the airport, the scenery immediate gobbles up at least 3.9gb of VAS memory. Those of you who have done the research on VAS memory in FSX and OOM errors know that this scenario is a no-go. I cant believe the guy released it without doing a few tests for memory leaks, etc. The ILS frequencies are also incorrect. With that said, I challenge any of you …

First let me say this is not a bad FMC/FMS/CDU what have you for FS9/FSX. Second I am having some issues with it and have not been able to get in touch with Garrett. One main issue I am having is that when using the MENU / NAV DATA / AIRPORT IDENT feature, I rarely get the system to work. Sometimes I can page through all the pages for an airport other times I am only able to look at 1 or 2 pages. Other times still the PREV and NEXT buttons do not work. At all. I am wondering if it is on my end, or does this thing just has a lot of issues with it. It is installed correctly.
