I must say, the original plan was awesome! I wish I had come up with it!! ;-).I have no idea if this is even available but I thought I would play around myself. Anyways - I thought I would use some web skills and see what I could do. I have taken the liberty to add to the original concept by Meatwater. Now, you can view some popular sites and use a text box to enter in URL's to visit. I also changed the "A" image on the kneeboard to a "W" as in "Web".NOTE: I did notice, this works perfectly in Windows mode. When in 3D mode - some of you who may have a lower end system or graphics card, might see the image smear across the window. Some images do not load - depending on the…

Hi everybody. I've got a problem that's been bugging me since I installed FS9. You all know that in the FS 9 it is now possible to use the buttons on the 3D panel. So at the beginning I thought to myself that I'm going to fly in the VC only. But then I realized that the VC quality is really, really ugly and bad when you take a look around; e.g. the overhead panels, the textures around the panels, the console around the thrust levers, etc. I already checked the display settings and made sure that the display quality of the VC is on "high". (my PC: 1.8 Ghz, 512 MB SD RAM, Geforce 3 64 MB)I'm really upset about not-enjoying the VC. Please help me!!Thanks a lot.

The reason for poor 2D panel performance is the Virtual Cockpits!!!Okay, let me tell you the whole story. I, like many of you had recognized that the performance of many (not all) 2D panels in FS9 is very poor.Yesterday I downloaded the excellent A320 panel from Eric Marciano. After installing it to my Project Airbus A320 I found out that the fps dropped to around 10 - 12 (locked at 20) in 2D mode, no matter how sparse the scenery was. But there was no perfomance hit in the working VC (I got 20 fps, locked at 20). I thought the reason for the slow 2D panel performance must be the excellent and detailed gauges Eric uses in his panel, like TACS, ND etc. Or, I thought, it co…

Hi Guys,In these days of complaints of poor tech service and reliable vendor relations, I've just gotta put in a plug for GoFlight's performance on both accounts. Here's what happened. After seeing their great lineup at the AVSIM conference, I ordered several components. Shortly after hooking things up, I found the Altitude function on the Autopilot module would work some times and not other times. I thought that I must be doing something out of sequence or whatever. So, I called their Tech Service. Not only did the techie answer the phone after about two rings, he assured me I wasn't doing anything wrong, but that it appeared to be an intermittant problem. He then promise…

Hi all,I can just hear that collective sigh of relief from Microsoft as Parts 1 and 2 faded away to obscurity...... so0000, I decided to resurrect the topic one more time to help drive the various points home. Also, I share Elrond's surprise about the oddly negative input from those various folk who, one assumed, would automatically jump behind what is after all a perfectly reasonable request from our community. All we desire, as has been stated by Elrond, is parity with other successful gaming communities. One of the previous threads ended with a post from me - I seemed to have that affect sometimes...LOLHowever, I'm nothing if not persistent ;)Here it is again:"No develop…

...I was recently on a Cape Air flight which is in a Cessna 402 up in the co-pilot seat (they sell the co-pilot seat as a pax seat when there is an auto-pilot on board). We were flying into Hyannis with an amazing sky. at about 1000 feet there were clouds broken to scatter starting at about 2500. The skys color and all the different kinds of clouds made me think of how MS would use this as an ideal screen shot to promote there new wx engine. Thats when I actually caught myself wondering what kind of FPS the pilot is getting with all these 3-d clouds...?!!?!! Man I need to take a break from the sim. NP

Hi Folks - New user, and interested in using the GPS output from FS to drive a PDA-based device. Preferably, I'd like to generate standard NMEA 183 messages as the output from the PC.Any ideas? I assume there's an SDK out there, but no idea where.FYI - the use is development support for some software running on Pocket PC to detect and avoid TFRs and other SUA. Using MS FS to drive the test data will also allow us to run through testing a bit sooner than if we have to do everything in the lab or airborne. Thanks!Todd

Now that this has been out a few months, what are people's views about it? Is it worth the $18? Do you still fly it? How does it compare to, say, the Carenado C152. Good and bad points would be welcome...ThanksRichard

The other day I was plodding happily along in my FS 2004 DC-3. I got into some real heavy clouds. Real heavy clouds.ATC advised of a Cessna Caravan about 5 miles from my area and I should report them when in sight. I could hardly see my wingtips, let alone a Cessna Caravan at 5 miles. The Cessana Caravan pilot reported to ATC that they had me in sight.Liar, liar, pants on fire. Just kissing up to ATC if you ask me.Regards,DonaldS

Hello,I have always been wondering why Flight Simulator always suggests so low cruising altitudes in Flight Planner. Even for very long flights, it suggests cruising altitudes like 7,000 ft. or 3,000 ft. - Even if you choose "high altitude airways".Why is this? And can it be fixed? Does anyobe know a good rule of thumb for choosing the right cruising altitude? Thanks in advance.Nico

Hello simmers:I currently have a Radeon 9000 PRO 64MB and want to upgrade. I have searched the archives and the ATI web site for answers to the following questions, but can not find any clarification. I hope someone can shed some light on the various stated terminology.1. What does "All In Wonder" refer to vs "Radeon"? Most cards with the "All In Wonder" designation are much higher in price with similar specs of non designated cards.2. What does the "PRO" designation mean? Again, difference in pricing vs a non "PRO" card with similar specs. 3. With specs like: Radeon 9000 PRO 128MB. Yet in the general info section, it says 64MB of memory. Which is it?Thanks.Chris

Hello.I am having a big mean problem. After I baught and installed FS2004 last weekend on the same machine I had my FS2002 running perfectly (according to other sources on the net there should be no problem with both programmes installed). However, after I started a network session (which I do very often to fly with squawkbox on ivao) I couldn't place my plane in the map mode anywhere else but on FULL degrees coordinates (no W20
