Being not an expert pilot, I wanted to ask which is medium jet (like 767/777) has the most realistic FDE?Both the 737NG and PSS Airbus are kind of bugged at the moment, so I am looking to try a freeware plane until a patch is released.

I got my Track IR yesterday and I can't get the software to load correctly. I've tried loading/uninstalling 2.11 final from the CD and web, 2.12 beta from the web so far. I can get the Track IR to work fine in FS2002 and LOMAC demo.My problem is that I can't see anything in the software control to adjust sensitivities and assign hotkeys...etc etc. When I load NaturalPoint I get these messages in order:Failed to load language fileFailed to load game fileFailed to load language fileThen the software starts up and I cannot see any text. If I load FS2002 up and hit F12 it centers the view and things, but it is way too sensitive and I can't adjust it!!I've uninstalled it and …

I was told there was a need to change the autopilot configuration to steer the plane while keeping the altitude (use no default bank = 1).I currently operate this way:I engage the autopilot, wing leveling is also engaged.I select HDG I deselect HDGI can now keep altitude and steer the plane normally without any change in the configuration file.Tested with the Mooney BravoCan someone else confirm?Happy flyingrino

Hi all,I really have no problems with stutters or frame rates. I'm locked at 25 and it usually stays within a few frames of that. Using 9800Radeon Pro, and 2.8gig P4 with 1024RDRAM. However, and this is a big HOWEVER....even my system is affected greatly when Autogen is above NORMAL. After much experimentation with many settings both full right and in-between, I found that the Autogen setting seemed the most critical for my system. Autogen at normal looks realistic, and perfectly fine. There is no need to go higher for the sake of realism. I keep my other scenery settings Full Right to Extremely Dense.See if Autogen is affecting your system disproportionaltely, too. …

Hi there,I recently bought the PSS A330 / A340 packages and I was quite disappointed to see that the wingviews and the virtual cabin were missing. Phoenix said that the model was maxed out and adding these wings would cause problems. The screenshots (see attachment)of the wings of an A340 I made with active camera. I moved the eyepoint up and walked above the wings.As you can see these are pretty good wingviews, only active camera only supports this views when the airplane is on the ground, standing still. I just updated my directx from version 9.0a to 9.0b. Before the update I was getting 30 to 40fps and now I get 3fps in the defult C172. Does anyone know how to uninstall or roll back my Directx version? Or will I need to reinstall windows?Im running Winxp Pro with SP1PJ

I know this sounds crazy, but after transferring a lot of aircraft and scenery to FS9, smoke effects now blow forward not backwards. Does anyone know which config file (I assume) is likely to be the culprit?I don't want to strip out all my add-ons and possibly reinstall if it can be avoided.

I've got two major problems with my Ti4400. 1) As you can see from the picture below, the horizon is very blunt. I have the sight distance set at 60mi/96km, cloud draw distance at 60mi/96km, and cloud percentage 100, cloud density maximum.I have tried setting the sight distance to the maximum 150mi/240km, but it doesn't seem to help. I just installed Paul Bradshaw's Bell Copter in FS04. It seems to run OK but in virtual view I have a plain, white cockpit dash with no instruments visible and a dark windshield view - kind of like tinted glass. Its fine in 2d view. Is this normal?

I want to change the engine setting in the .air file of the FS04 Bell Ranger. When I tried to open it a message asked me what I wanted to use to open the file. I chose WORD and can only read part of the file. I get a lot of graphic symbols and boxes. How can I get it to display everything normally? Also, it changed the file's icon to a WORD symbol. Is this OK? How do I get it back to its default symbol? Thanks.

I just downloaded the Ariane B737-800NG, and ran the .exe. It appeared to install OK, but when selecting it in the FS9 menu, I get the error that FS9 can't find the files XMLSound.GAU and ATC-WHM.gau. Does anyone know what might be wrong here? I'm running FS9 (obviously). I also opted to have the scenery config file updated (checked in the installer). I noted a patch on the Ariane site, but it's for FS2002, which I assumed was to enable backward compatibility to that sim, so I did not install it.If these gauges are not included in the installation but are required, does that mean that there's an another FS application that I need to install first?I've e-mailed their suppo…

Just saw the GE COF commercial on the tube showing some great special effects applied on old Wright Flyer film. It depects there latest GE90-115B giving a "little" extra boost to the poor Wright Flyer! Couldn't stop laughing! :)

Something wierd is happening. My Scenery Library is nowhere to be found in the MSFS menu! It has disappeared. I've been having trouble with seeing my Megascenery lately (Southern Ca.), and it seems to have started after installing some of the wonderful planes and situations from Bill Lyons...that's the only connection I can make. Whatever the reason, there is no Library menu to go to. What do you think is wrong? Please let me know how to fix this. I hope I don't have to do a re-install of FS9. Stan

I've read through the README section, and FAQs on other forums and it seems that there are a lot of conflicting reports on what will be the best tweaks for FS9.Could someone prepare a document for us, that will give a list of what to do when you do an install of FS9. I have two short questions. Is it normal to taxi with your flaps down, when you are on your way to the designated runway. Do you turn on the beacon lights, nav. lights or both when you are taxiing to the runway.

This is my first post here so excuse me if this has been discussed before, but I have not been able to find any reference to this problem I have had. When I copied my 2002 a/c across to 2004 I noticed on a lot of them that the animated flaps, rudder, ailerons etc no longer worked. I discovered the other day that in the fs9.cfg there is an entry for each addon a/c followed by a zero. If this zero is replaced with a one then the control surfaces start working again.I think this has got to do with fs asking you whether you want unsupported features enabled when you first install these a/c. I just noticed that the Bay Bridge in Maryland is missing in 2004.There is a beautiful one in FS2002....Am I missing something? Is there a way to copy it to FS2004?Would appreciate any help. Thanks.Abe

I just tried to calculate the amount of data it would take to cover the whole world with photo textures. If one pixel covered 4x4 meters and used up 1 byte, you would need (if my calculation is correct)a whopping 32429612MB's! That's 32000GB or 32TB Damn ... Take away 70% of the earths surface, that makes 9.7TB. Wow. (I need a new PC :-D)
