I purchased the Miami scenery and installed it in FS2002, and at some parts of the airport the default ground textures are bleeding through the scenery. Is anyone else experiencing this? How do I fix it? I also sometimes get blurry textures of my AI planes, ground, and buildings too.

I know some will disagree but after owning both of these aircraft for awhile I come away with enjoying the 717 allot more. My reason is, in FS2k4 having a functioning VC is almost a must. To expand on that fact having a functioning VC that's framerate friendly is even better. No it doesn

Hi AllI hope I'm in the right place for this, I am haveing a problem with FS2002. I have just started recieving an error message from windows XP telling me FS has to close and restart. The message says atc.dll is the problem. I have tried replacing it with a backup copy only to find that in a small amount of time it does it again. I have not changed anything recently that I can think of and have plenty of ram and such on my computer. Everything has been fine until maybe a week ago or so. This seems to happen weather or not I am running add ons like fsmeteo or not. I can just start it up and sit at the gate and it does it. I sure hope one of you experts out there can shed…

HiAfter you've stopped laughing at the title of my post :-), perhaps you can all have a think about this. For several years now we have had a release of MSFS every second year. Sometimes it's been good (FS98), and sometimes it's been bad (FS2000). This time (FS2004), I think it's been outstanding. There are some really nice aircraft for one thing, excellent scenery & weather, and a remarkable amount of detailed data (control zones on the maps etc). But lots of people are still using Fs2002 out there, because they have stuff that is not yet compatible with FS2004, and indeed may never be. I myself have both installed. So while this bi-annual progress is great, it's also…

  10. Hi all,To the surprise of many here (I have no doubt), Flight Simulator 2004 is one of the best selling "games" on the market. I believe it is widely thought in this community that FS is an extreme niche product that doesn't enjoy mainstream sales and profits for Microsoft. That couldn't be farther from the truth:"Here are the best-sellers for Sept. 7-13: 1. Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII from EA 2. EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath from Sony 3. Flight Simulator 2004 from Microsoft 4. Sims Deluxe from EA 5. Battlefield 1942 from EA 6. Sims Superstar from EA 7. Diablo 2 from VU Games 8. Warcraft III: Frozen Throne from VU Games 9. Zoo Tycoon from Micros…

  11. Hi ALL,If you have the following problem then try my workaround below. If you are in Flight Simulator, you hit alt enter to get to the desktop then you start your second party software then try to get back into FS.. what happens? Well if you are reding this post then chances are you get a black sereen with a flashing hourglass and the only way to get the sim to start again is to exit the game, wait for windows to send an error report and start the game again. What a PAIN. And especially if you use an external weather program like FSMETEO. The only to use FSMETEO and check winds at destination airports is to go to the program which is on the desktop. Which means switching o…

Yes, I've gotten rid of EVERYTHING in my FS9 at the moment. The only addon I'm using is ESSA, Stockholm, Arlanda airport and it SUCKS! I've got all, and I mean ALL my sliders in FS9 set to about 10%. My flightsimulator looks really really really bad but when I'm approaching a small not so busy airport I've got framerates like 47-52! But when I'm approaching ESSA, ooohh yeah! The framerates drop to 2-4, the computer freezes for about 5-7 seconds until the computer is all finished with building the airport building by building...Guys, I think I'm all done with Microsoft Flightsimulator. After seven years of flying MSFS I'm fed up. I don't have the strength to continue messi…

Here is a link to a review of the Radeon 9800 XT as tested under FS2004 (all settings used are shown in link). I find it interesting that a game that uses virtually no DX9 effects still performs better on ATI hardware than on Nvidia hardware. ATI seems to have won the DX9 battle pretty handily. They've had the lead since September '02 and just continue to extend it. I wonder who will be first to come back with "just wait for Det. 50!" or "Just wait for 5950 Ultra" or "just wait for NV40!"... Enjoy: http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTI5LDk=-Max Cowgill

I just took a scenic flight in a Bell Ranger helicopter just like the one in Flight Simulator at a local fair. I couldn't wait to get home and try it out in FS. I was disappointed in finding the engine never quits and is always running, and there is no change in sound as power is increased or decreased. Not "as real as it gets" in my opinion. Is there an addon version available or any other chopper for that matter of the same detail and quality as the fs aircraft addons such as those from Dreamfleet, FSD, Flight One, etc.? Thanks.

It will take a few years but the possibilities for the hobby are encouraging.-------------------------------------Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW - news) today unveiled details about a new method of laying down microchips that researchers say would process information 100 times faster than today's most sophisticated computers, revolutionizing all aspects of the technology industry. "We are talking about the potential death of the circuit board and anything larger than a cell phone," John Gustafson, principal investigator for Sun's high-productivity computing systems program, told NewsFactor. "It looks like we have done to circuit boards what transistors did to vacuum t…

I have been anxiously awaiting for the FSD Piper Navajo's release. I think FSD puts out some of the best payware aircraft around. I was wondering if anyone knew if the Piper Navajo is still in development. I keep checking the FSD site for any updates and I haven't found any. Is FSD still working on the Navajo? Thanks,Larry :-wavehttp://www.lagoonline.com/images/430.jpg

I just put more memory in my machine and I was inspired to give FS9 another try. As I was messing around I realized I am having a touch time getting my CH Yoke to calm down. The pitch sensitivity seems super touchy even with the sensitivity setting at bare minimum (with or without a null zone as well). It seems to be at its worst with either of the default Beech aircraft. I have reconfigured the yoke, but it is so touchy I cant use it to practice approaches. Any thoughts?Pentium 4 2.41.5 Gig DDR SDRAMGeforce 4 Ti 4400 128mbCH Yoke & PedalsWindows XP
