Hi all,a strange problem is occuring the last days on my system.I'm flying FS2002 and there where no problems until I upgraded to the latest FSUIPC 3.10 (payed full version). I'm using an old FSMeteo (5.2) cause I didn't see the need to upgrade to a newer version ($$$) - just for FS2002.Everything works fine until I try to download real weather with FSMeteo. After that my sim kind of hangs up (no view-switching, no outside view). If I close FSMeteo everything is ok again, exept all lights (aircraft and scenery) are surrounded by a small black square.The normal FS-Real-Weather-Download is working perfect.The old (freeware) version of ActiveSky (1.5) is producing the same p…

Hi, I've been messing around with the default floatplane for something new, and last night I had no problems at all. Today, without changing anything, I have a problem where the plane won't set on the water at start-up. If I select a lake the plane is a few hundred feet above in the air and stalling! If I select a land runway, it works just fine. I tried to fly from land to water and it worked until I landed and changed views, which put my plane back in the air! What could be causing this? Why didn't it occur last night?

Ok, real problems here, I DL'd the AlphaSim Herc and it just does not want to work on rough fields...I tried it at Dochra, and the first time, it would consistently break nosewheels on taxi...when Jay at Alphasim made a number of adjustments, Version 1.3 now of the cfg and air file...it now displays a crash when the gets up to 10 knots on the takeoff run...I told Jay this, and he said his works fine, he even tried it with the actual cfg and air files I was using - again, no problems for him...So here's the question, do you guys have the same problem on rough fields? If not, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, I use easiest flight settings and no weather...Please he…

Checkout this tip. I am careful about benchmarking, and I seem to have picked up 3-5 fps. Before you flame, try it.

Hi all,I have just finished the beta testing of a new utility written for people who fly FS2004 in Australia. The utility suggests departure and destination airfields in Australia based upon distance and VFR aeronautical chart criteria entered by the user. My main reason for writing the utility is that my personal preference is to make flights of a certain duration, but I didn't want to figure out all the possible flights I could make manually - there are tens of thousands of them. The other reason is that I use electronic, printable charts, and I wanted the option of my flight only being within the bounds of one chart only, or in a high detailed VTC (or sectional) area.T…

I don't do ILS very often (I do mostly VFR). However, does FS2004 differentiate between ILS categories?For example if the runway is a CAT I, will it like in real life NOT let you autoland? Or if it's CAT II or CAT IIIA/B/C, it will give you the option to autoland?I have a very very strong feeling that the answer is no, but I thought I'd ask anyway.Regards

The sound in FS9 has been fine except for some occasional scratchiness during takeoff roll. I decided recently to try out the lessons. As soon as Ron speaks his voice becomes distorted. The rest of the sounds are fine. In investigating this, I noticed that Directx9a listed my Soundblaster Live as "emulated." It therefore is only using software buffers. I tried reinstalling both the card and Directx a number of times--still shows "emulated." I installed a different, older, soundcard which installed fine but still had the same problem and Directx still showed it as "emulated." I have another computer with WinXP and a Soundblaster 5.1 and it works fine and does not l…

Hi guys.Suddenly, my seat height adjustment in FS9 is adjusting WAY more per click than it was before. If I press shift + enter to raise the seat one click, I am starring almost straight down at the runway. Same thing if I "lower" the seat...shift + backspace leaves me looking up at the birdies in the sky. Something I installed obviously screwed something up. This occurs in all aircraft, default and addon.Does anyone know where the parameters for this thing are? Is it in the fs9.cfg? What's the parameter? What is the default value?Thanks all,Nate

Was really waiting for this one as I like the airport very much. Before buying I installed the demo (I didn't way back when KDFW was released) and I'm really disappointed. I'm only getting 8-11fps with default Bell and NO AI! I'm running a PIV 2,53, 1GB RAM and a ATI Radeon 9500PRO. I love their work but I don't know what Computer they run to get decent framerates. Is there anyone out there who has updated the IFDG 757's flight dynamics for FS2k4. My jet seem to have the trim set incorrectly, the plane wants to jump in the air during the takeoff roll before the optimum takeoff speed is reached. I noticed this in FS2k2 but wondered has anyone done any extra work with this plane's FDE...Thanks.

I've been following the videocard "debate" on here... what has the performance increase been on going from a 4200Ti to a 9800 or 9700 card for FS2002 and FS2004? Looking more if there will be a fps increase as I already have good CPU speed.Chris

I currently go with a modest ATI Radeon 7000 VE video card, and I plan on upgrading it in near future.So could you recommend me a video card around USD 200 which will suit to FS2004? Which one is to prefer - Radeon or GForce?Thanks in advance for any help.Nico

Hi Guys n Gals..On approach in to MALE (VRMM) the Maldives, a sudden gust of wind threw me completey off course, I did not have the reactions to GOAround and in my mind I was already commited, so I went for the landing. I kind of crabed the landing, but on review it looked pretty serious. Can anybody take a look at my attached pics, and tell me what they think. The plane is an A330 by PSS and the Scenery is by Lago. I am very intrested as to what would of happend in real life or would it of been a disater. Hi.I've got an XP-2700, with an ATI 9700 Pro. When I switch it into multi monitor mode so that I can undock windows and move them to the second monitor, FS2004 refuses to start up in hardware mode and insists on running in software mode. This is obviously useless as I'm getting about 1 frame per fortnight.
