I read a while back that XPlane recieved a valid training certification from the FAA...Can someone explain to me why the FAA would choose/certify XPlane as valid training tool over Flight Simulator??? It would seem to me with add-ons like PIC767 and PSS's A320/330/340 you could learn allot more with Flight Simulator. I know for a fact that with all the mesh scenery add-ons available for locations around the world that XPlane could never dethrone FS when it comes to VFR. You can literally take a map (and this goes for FS's default scenery as well) and visually see all topography locations as they are in real life (roads, rivers, lakes, mountains, etc.). Hi all I need help. Ive installed this panel and everything works fine on it except when i try to use the push back controls the plane suddenly then goes into slew mode and goes crazy all over the place. Anyone have any ideas?:-hmmm Don

I loved the Flight1 421 in FS2002. Is it ready for prime time yet in FS9? I'm seeing updates for this plane in the library, and I haven't seen any info on FS 2004 compatibility yet. Stan

I am looking for suggestions on what to buy as a FS9 add-on. I have the FSBuild, ActiveSkyWxRE, PSS A320 & Ultimate Traffic, but am waiting for the FS9 patch for them. So in the interm I am looking for something different. The reviews I have read about the PSS A330/340 are mixed at best, as are the reviews for PMDG 737 series. I would like some heavy iron but I am open to almost anything. I would like to keep the upgrade price under $100 though. I Have a big problem in all aircrafts of fs2002 and fs2004 the N1 of the Autothrotle variates from a 20% and 60% in the landing procedures.But the aircrafts for fs98 perfect autothrotle functions perfectly.The Big Problem the airfiles of 98 is not fully compatible with fs2004. Where can I find some frame rate friendly general aviation aircraft for use with AI traffic. Project AI and AI Aardvark have great commercial aircraft but I do not see any general.

This is a two part question.1.How do I get a airport to appear that is not currently showing in the afcad selection utility?2.Is there a way for an airline that does not depart or arrive ever at a particular airport to arrive and depart at this location. Example. Mexicana does not service Lambert st. louis, but I would like for it to in the future. What are the steps for this to happen. Thanks for any input!

Does anyone put out a T-28 for any of the MSCFS's or MSFS9? When I was in High School at Milo Academy, Milo, OR, there was a dentist who would fly down from Eugene in one and land at the old airstrip we had. It must have been a hairy ordeal since there was only one way in and one way out. Just a little mistake either way and he would have been into a mountain.TIA,Jim

I was wondering if any of you who have these planes also got an error message saying that the file PF10070_GPS.gau was incompatible with FS9. I can actually use the planes with this gauge deactivated, but would like to know if there was any workaround for this problem in order to restore full functionality.Thanks! :D

I think the FSD T-38 was an excellent addition to FS2002. Outstanding plane (and free too!). Has anyone tried it in FS2004? If so, does it work correctly?

I have seen the Vickers Vimy and the Ryan NYP 'Spirit of St.. Louis' parked on the ramp at Arlington Municipal (KAWO) one day while visiting there several weeks ago, but they are not there now.Who can tell me what default aircraft will appear at any given airport from the default planes on an intermittent basis?I also saw (and still see) the Piper Cub and Cessna 208 Caravan parked there regularly, but not the other planes as I saw before.Is this some sort of 'Easter egg' written into the sim?

There have been a few random post throughout the flight sim community about this problem. There have been no serious suggestions how to resolve it.The visual problem is the avionics simply shutting down. They can be reactivated only by going to the aircraft menu and reselecting the plane. The fault may occur a few times in a 1 hour flight. I have a FS9 "pure" system. Only add-ons are FSNavigator and three DLL files for sound, squawkbox, and FSUIPC. My problem occurs flying the standard B737. Were you able once to download aircrafts from them?I am trying for 3 days now. After 3or4 Mb the connexion slows and stops. (ADSL 1024)They have NO SUPPORT or forum, even no valid email address!!!It's impossible to reach them, I tried answering to the mail i got from their sales but it comes back.... I have the pedals with toes brakes from Spain. using with Thrusmaster HOTAS Cougar set. Does anyone know how to make the toe brakes work with FS2004. This is actually a two faceted question, but I think the two are linked in regards to operational response time on my system.First, my specs: 1.4 Athlon, 512 RAM, ATI 9000 PRO 64MB, AC 97 SoundI am experiencing a LONG time (10-15 seconds) between requests to ATC and their replies. I am also experiencing very slow throttle response (default settings) from idle to wide open throttle, about 3 seconds before a reaction takes place and spool up begins. I would like to know how quickly your ATC responses are as well as your throttle response time. Hi Pilots,just a quick dummy question.... In the classic B737 Cockpit, should the Flightdirector be switchable to ON at ground when Avionics are ON? Or is the FD only in the air after takeoff to switch ON???
