Have researched extensively in the Forums...I have tried some of the suggestions posted including taking the cover off cpu, tested RAM (seems fine).Where can I find AGP Fastwrites? Apparently it should be turned off to stop crashes. Is it in the BIOS or a tweaking util for the TI4200? A Looong time ago I enabled it, I recall, on an older system. Just can't remember where to find it now.Also, does anyone know what MS does with the error reports? I don't suppose there's any way to use the info from them to diagnose the problem. COF just quits, the screen goes black for a minute or so, then it creates an error report. This happens with default a/c as well as add-ons.Any othe…

Hello all,I have recently started having a problem with the master electrical and radio switch in all aircraft in FS2k4. I have usually ended flights with shutting down all systems, on my last flight in the Baron when I shut off electrical to the radios they stayed on, even after switching off the master switch. Now after re-booting the computer when I start up electricity is on no matter what aircraft I use for default (even switching default flight back original setting). What can be done about the rapid drop in FPS when on final approach????I did a flight from KDEN to KSEA (about2.2hrs) and FPS were sweet up until I turned on final and the dropped from 20-23 to 8-10. Last week I updated my VC to a ATI 128 9600pro and installed two sticks of 333DDR 2700 ram so Im dual channeling now. I am running the new Cat 3.8 as well which have made a significant increase but not enough to overcome the drop in FPS on final. I have a AMD XP1800 in my machine with a MSI 6380E MOBO.I have tried every tweek I could think of and am just tierd....I dont like the slideshow finals. I would love if someone would tackle the challenge of placing grain elevators in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc...I would be willing to help by giving location and oreintation information for all that I could. The new SIS AGP117 drivers are available here---http://driver3.sis.com/agp/For the information of those whose motherboards use these drivers,I have installed them and they do seem to give a small increase in fps on FS2004.The increase is only 1 to 2 fps,but in high demand situations (EG:SeaTac,KLAX etc) where most people seem to experience the worst frame rate drops,this may improve things a bit.Every little helps.So far,no problems with the new drivers(fingers crossed!)Dave

After buying my brand new BBA 9600PRO , installed catalyst 3.7 and everything went smooth. Its default speed was 400/300, 3DMARK03 gave me around 3700 so everything looks normal.Until!! I was just twicking my game (FS2004) when everything went wrong!. The game starts to freeze and so was the 3DMARK03. I've checked the card frequency and to my surprise saw that its now 500/300! I swear I didn't do that!Now even when I under-clock back to 400/300, after booting its again 500/300 and freeze during 3Dmark03 or give me very low scores like 1200!.This weird thing repeats itself in catalyst 3.8 , 3.7 and even 3.6! Yesterday, I downloaded the 3.8's and simply executed them RIGHT OVER the 3.7's. I know, I should have uninstalled the old drivers. Well, I didn't. They seem to work fine, but of course, now I have regret that I didn't do it the clean, uninstall, install way. Today I heard about the "uninstall utility" that came with these new drivers. Tell me...can I use this NOW to uninstall the 3.8's and RE-INSTALL the 3.8's? I really would like to know. I'm really afraid to work with the registry right now because I need to do some backing up at a time when I have time. I want to fly NOW with the 3.8's. I run FS9 in W98SE and have managed to get it running fairly smooth.This is what worked for me.Removed this from my vcache listing in the system.iniminfilecache=32768maxfilecache=32768chunksize=2048namecache=4096directorycache=96( left over from FS2002 tweaking) Seemed to helpFixed swap file on my D: drive...( OS on C: FS9 on E:)( D,E partitioned 2nd drive) increase from 512 to 1024. Well, after having had her ported over into my FS9 hangar for several weeks now, I felt like I should fly the PM2 Concorde again for a change. I built a flight plan according to the specs given by Andrew Wilson in his oft-quoted article (however, I chose LFPG as my starting point and altered the exemplary flight plan in Andrew's article accordingly) and went off in a cloud of smoke and noise, but as I was preparing for transition to supersonic speed I noticed the FDE I'm using effectively gag this great aircraft to below Mach 1 - even when setting it up for just 500 fpm in climb rate and lighting the 'burners. Hi,I'd like to see an add-on for FS200x that could read the whole database, and then I could select the departure airport and it would automatically select a destination based on the acft I chose to fly.Besides that it could also give us the number of passengers and cargo for the flight or it would change the acft.cfg itself for that.I know there's one "Random FLight Planner" in the File Library but it seems that it's based in the FS2000's airports.If anyone knows of such program please let me know.SubLogic's ATP Career mode was good enough. Hello!I'm new at this but here goes:Is anyone else having problems with the rudder keys (0 and enter) being way too sensitive while taxiing the Cessna 172?! The problem is the same on my CH yoke (I've programmed the rudder controls onto the right yoke handle rocker switch below the hat switch where rudder trim is usually assigned). I can't find anyway to control sensitivity for the keystrokes or the button on the CH Yoke. The rudder feels correct once the plane is airborne but on the ground one touch and the plane vears off the runway.Secondly, in FS2002 it was possible to change the pan-rate in the virtual cockpit environment by adjusting pan-rate in the FS CFG file. …

This tweak assumes that you are familiar with operating RivaTuner v2.0 RC14, the latest version (You can get RivaTuner from Guru3D.com). It may also apply to other tweaking software, but I'm not familiar with anything else. Hi all,I know many of you will find this hard to believe (and I have waited a couple of days to post this so I can exhaustively test the new drivers) but the new catalyst 3.8 ATI drivers have fixed the flashing menu's AND corrupted text in Fs2004 when switching to full screen mode.I am running in 1600x1200x32 resolution and whereas previously I had the same flashing as everyone else, now it is perfect. I have not tried them at lower resolutions as I exclusively fly in this resolution on a 21" monitor. Apparently, an other well known AI group has been offered the chance to beta test Afcad2. What is going to make it interesting is that from reading the forum messages from the two sites, there is apparently some friction between the two. There is already been a few barbs thrown. Alot of it seems to be over "standards" on how AI aircraft and gates should be classified with each group going in their own direction. Also noticed a well known payware developer posting a list of "standards" that he wants to use on his site. G'day GuysAfer going through the normal ATI cleaning routine which takes quite a bit of time i am glad to say its well worth the effort.At flightsofts Kaitak in the Capt sim 727 i got a boost of 4-7fps up from 16 to 21-23fps on the rwy 31 threshold.Big increase and i am pretty stoked with the boost.I can live with the flickering menu's if it means an FPS increase like this one.Also noticed its very smooth now with a heavy scenery load.Great job to the guys at ATI.Go get em!!
