Having suffered from the "Crash to Desktop" problem caused by the railroad textures a few days ago,it occurred to me that some kind of automated "flight saving" might be a good idea.For those of us that are inclined(or addicted!)to trying out all sorts of addons(improvments?) there is always the risk that the program will crash - possibly at an inconvenient moment if you are flying online.I know you can save the flight manually at whatever moment you care to do so,and in the event of a software crash,pick it up again at your last saved point,but it would be very convenient if there was some way of scheduling automatic "saves" at a specified(by the user EG :every 15 minut…

Hi Chaps, I have Sim charts 2 by Jeppesen and as usual am annoyed that the company say i need to purchase a new version to work within FS9. However.... Ive made a discovery regarding Jeppesen Sim Charts 2 and its compatibility with FS9. Install as usual but point the installer to FS9 in the usual way. Enter the codes for SIM Charts as normal. When launching FS9 you get the "detected incompatible software..do you want to load it?" message ( same as when using HostSB.) I loaded it and it worked. Hi all,I have noticed that after installing some AFCAD files into FS2004 that the Progressive Taxi line does not appear, and also no ground ATC directions after landing. Does anyone know why this occurs, is there an option that needs changing for the AFCAD file?RegardsDK

Is it me or is it no longer posible to hold down "J" and - or + to start a single engine just like the manual way in fs2k2 and fs2k. Is this some bug or is there a new key assignment.. Dont tell me i have to use the too easy ctrl E auto start foolishnes now !!?I checked the keyboard asssignments and the J is still there as "jet starter" so what gives ??

Every time I try to move or resize the ATC window in COF using default AC it shuts the sim down.Any ideas what may be causing this?

I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem, and know of a workaround. I have FS9 running very well now with good quality visuals and good FPS, but whenever I put the water texture slider to high, I get constant stuttering. It happens with the stock default water, and with Bill Lyons new water textures. If I put it back to low or none, the stuttering goes away. I have tried lowering AA, and Aniso values, but the stuttering is still there when set to high. I don't have any stuttering at all when the water is set to low.I have an XP2700 CPU, 768 GB PC2700 DDR Ram, Audigy 2, Radeon 9600 Pro with Cat 3.9 drivers, and WinXP.

hi guys,i know this topic has been discussed before..i just installed active camera over the weeekend and it's great addon product!! ...however, i don't like the views that i'm getting of the partial virtual cabin when i look out from the cockpit to view left and right engines.. is there a way to simply remove the virtual cabin?? thanks

HiFor those of you that like that sort of thing, there's a pretty good Minsk 2 in G-Max over at www.avsim.ru that comes with its own AFCAD. I only use it in 2K2 so can't vouch for CoF.Gavin

A while back I posted about how the use of the utility "RTool" really improved the performance of FS9 on my system. I never got a chance to reply to some of the people who posted on my topic, because by the time I was about to post, ATI released the official Cat 3.9's. So I installed the 3.9's, and although a marked improvement over all of the previous drivers, including Omegas, I still was not happy with the overall performance. There was still stuttering, some shimmer and I was getting low FPS in some areas. I used New York City as my test area. I had AA set to 4x and Aniso to 4x with Performance checked in the 3D tab. I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me regarding the above.Because FS2004 has the ability to use all runways at a given airport, is it necessary to adjust add-on traffic to use multiple runways? I guess I'm asking because of how FS2002 worked and overlay AFCAD files. That traffic had to be sent to the overlay runways. Does anything need to be done to add-on traffic to get this to work? Is it even possible or do all AI aircraft (default & add-on) only use one runway at each airport for landing & takeoff anyway?Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks very much!!!

ok - I've searched the forums, got Paul Varn's airfile and aircraft cfg, changing only the 'lights' section. I hit the localizer 15nm out at 3000ft, 190kt, g/s at 170kt with nose and gear down but tuis bird still noses down sharply at g/s intercept, never to recover. I'm not using the pm2 panel, but rather Pedro Olivera's. Would switching to he pm2 'default' panel help - or is it just plain impossible for the fs2002 a/p to fly this plane at the correct 13 deg nose up attitude down to 200ft?I'd fly it manually but i don't have a working controller at present so it's keyboard or a whole lotta ils right now.regards,Mark

I think it would be cool to make a list of various Easter Eggs (interesting or unusual surprises)included in the default version of FS2004. I don't know if this has already been posted, but there are some dynamic objects in the default FS2004 Niagara Falls area! At the base of the falls, the tour boat Maid of the Mist motors around and even heaves from side to side as it is crashed by waves from the falls! And in the nearby observation tower, animated elevators move up and down. Considering that Niagara Falls has been the standard spot for demonstrating the SDKs, does anyone else smell a dynamic scenery SDK coming up? I'm sure that tons of people already know about th…

I understand that Geforce4 graphics cards are unable to show water reflections when using FS9 default installation. Has any resolution to this particular problem been found yet or is it something we'll have to live with? I do get waves on coastlines though.Victor

HiI recently installed the latest 1.4523a omega drivers for my geforce 3 ti200 and have noticed a slight problem. When i alt-tab out of fs2002 then back in, transparent textures such as the atc window and tyre spoke have now become opaque - usually black or grey.Is this just me or has anyone else seen this ?Gary

Hi SimmersI am currently using using the payware european landclass by Fslandclass but at Edinburough Scotland it crashes my Fs9 to desktop. Would anyone know of any other lc files, payware or freeware (or anyware LOL) for the uk as I am very fedup of ctd. Funny though it doesn't ctd in London, seems to have something to do with the ocean water distance. It ctd at Amsterdam, too, but not at Paris?Thanks
